  • Another game that shows ure skillz , prince!

  • Very fitting name :D I felt proud by knowing most of the things that you say in your videos for the first time (I made an essay on Philip II)... It's only a shame that the ridge that Onomarchus used cannot be well represented on RTW (at least the vanilla maps), which would have given your opponent a bigger advantage by having a natural defense on the flanks and for his catapult, but he did get a good advantage with the slope he had in this match. Well played!

  • dude this is awesome!

  • What map is this on?

  • I have medievel 2 total war right now, do you think Rome Total War is better?

  • love the intro music.i recognized it from the alexander movie lol

  • Was this Philip II The father of Alexander The Great ? and good videos man

  • Steamtag is Rumsquall hit me up anyone if you wana play. Im new to Rome

  • did you know ?? Philip in greek ( Φιλιππος) means " the one who loves horses"

  • This guy showed absolutely horrible micro, I dont even see the point in showing battles vs such poor players, you might as well just do battles vs the AI to be honest.

  • alexander the great had no idea about tactics he sucks cock. umad?

  • your awesome, man you beat the crap out of everyone

  • Prince, u are the one tyhat inspried me to buy this game. I usually play as eithr the Maceodnians or the eastern romans, Some guy artex keeps fucking with me and uve fought him before right? can u do something about it please. Thanks.

  • GeneralBoandE shogun two has the best online cause its newer

  • Which total war has the best or most online gaming?

  • Comment removed

  • PRINCE ! i love you man you inspired me ! evber since i've been watching your vids i've been learnin more and more history and now i just cant get enough of it i thank you for unleashing my talent at history if you hadnt started making videos i wouldnt of know anything about history, i owuldnt of had one of my favorite games (RTW) fuck man i love you for this ! 1 more question though about history : have you ever read a book or anything like that about the titanic (thats 1 of my main interests)?

  • love how a hoplite got shot by oniger and just stood up

  • @PrinceofMacedon how do you do custom historical battles?

  • what a easy battle :D

  • Nvm there isn't really any way you could do that lol

  • You should do your next one as Alexander the great vs Genghis khan.

  • Some of the best commentary I have heard. Very interesting and entertaining. Turned a game I'm not a huge fan of and made it great to watch.

  • do you make most of these tactics up yourself? or do you look what for tactics kings in history used as tactics and use that aswel?

  • Love the look of Macedonian Cavalry <3 and the macedonian army as a whole really

  • whats the maps name?

  • You should play Hegemony: Philip of macedon (or Hegemony gold now.) Original game was based on Philip and around philip. And its a great game, if a bit of a hedache.

  • @XxXScirishWarLordXxX yeah, I know of it...but I haven't had time to get anything new yet

  • @PrinceofMacedon why are the unit cards so stretched at 0:05

  • This shit's better than history class. :)

  • Im new to the total war series and i was wondering if rome total war is a good place to start?

  • @XBOXplayer434 any of the Total War games are a good place to start IMO

  • @XBOXplayer434 Do You like Modern or Ancietint it depends on your taste

  • good battle you did nice

  • As much as I dislike this guy I do enjoy his knowledge of history. He should make more historical reenactments.

  • The only thing I can't stand with the total war series is how fast troops die and rout. Mods fix that though.

  • Anyways, anyways, anyways...Polly wants a cracker ? ^^

  • I use to be a great general like you, then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Great battle, Prince! You sure know your history, impressive! ;)

  • This is completely off topic, but I enjoy the way you articulate yourself when taking down all these trolls. What did you major in college? History?

  • pow who was alexander the greats father? isent that the reason he went after persia becacause he thought a persian assasin killed his father?

  • @kingofgreece100 Phillip II of Macedon was Alexander's father.

  • @kingofgreece100 plus his assassin wasn't persian but a greek. Most historians believe that the Persians gave him money to assasinate Phillip. His name was Pausanias and he was a member of Phillip's somatofylakes(bodyguards).

  • how come in the results it says the macedonians were commanded by oneeyed. do u use different screen names on line

  • @xXxMarineSGTxXx Frequently Asked Questions.

  • man i wish i could play in one of theses

  • "when you violated their gods you would be violated with your life" :D

  • @PrinceofMacedon Have you ever played the Rome Total Realism Mod?

  • @ThepunksfoodMedia I've played one version of it. Good stuff, but way too annoying to arrange for Multiplayer battles.

  • look for my youtube name on rome total war

  • Could you just go back to regular multiplayer battles? Theres nothing wrong with this but i think the regular ones like the free for alls were pretty cool.

  • @lucas76021 I'm doing both, but right now, I'm doing this. If I go back to playing regular battles, I won't be as handicapped anymore, and I won't be talking about as much history. Patience. You guys see a couple of videos, and you think everything is gonna be the same for now on. But look at my history of videos...I always do things differently. Fact.

  • Prince_of_history! :D

  • at 7:33 why does the Greek general have the general skin with the helmet and all? I thought the online battles didn't have that...or is this a special skin pack?

  • @UrsusIratissimus it's part of Belle's map/skin pack. It works online

  • it seems like all most of the units in this game have giant spears 5 times the size of the actual soldiers

  • @kdamann01 .

  • "Give me an army and I shall bring you victory."

    Smokeythebear66 who said that?

I did.... Dont play with matches my friends.

  • pow whered u get the new maps so i can download them?

  • NICE VID I have also watched like evrey one of your vids also+1 SUB!!!!:)

  • if only philip II had you at this battle prince

  • Whoever you were playing must have sucked because he had so many advantages, but no matter how bad the player the battle is still hard so i'm very impressed with this battle (awesome)

  • wherd u get the new maps?

  • Merry Christmas POM, I wish you could take a swing at The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, thats my x-mas gift :)

  • I love when you tell the history of battle and the officers

  • Very nice.

  • Nice battle Prince. For all those who are saying P.O.M had the easy army. His army units were inferior to the Greek City States army in terms of armor and weapons. At the end of it all it is the man, not the machine that carries the victory. Skill over technology can ensure victory such as the 300 Spartans at Philippi. Even though they lost 300 men, the Persians lost 100x more.

  • I was expecting you too loose ^^

  • nice vid good show

  • Stop crying about P.O.M having an advantage, can't people just accept he is the best?

By the way, P.O.M i would follow you into battle if it was back then

  • @MBjarno I'd only follow him if there was a glorious speech at the start and P.O.M was first in the fight... Bravery, Courage and Respect for their fellow soldiers, that is what i want to see in a general. (Yay i'm exeptionally wierd...)

  • @M1NDSH1FT3R Bravery and courage can't really be shown in a game, but i believe that P.O.M has it. Respect is something he shows almost every video, by speaking and teaching about the great commanders of old. I consider commanding abillity as high as bravery, no sense in following a man that would make a frontal cavalry charge at a line of pikes. P.O.M being an alexander and i would stand in a lesser commanding role behind him. Maybe one of the higher ranked companions.

  • It wasn't only the Fokians! It was the Thebians too

  • Prince you ever read a book by a fantastic british writer called david gemmell "the lion of macedon" ?, its part fantasy but more later on and in the follow up book he made, in the start he follows Parmenion as a boy who is hated by the other spartan nobles, gemmell was awesome at battle scenes, this one here is in it if memory serves me well, also lots about the young phillip and how he built the army etc, you would id say like it

  • What Total War Do you Prefer?

  • All the the Greek City-States guy had to do to win was attack while POM was climbing the hill and BAM! That would have ended it.

  • These days, I think your commentary on history means more to me then the battle itself, no offence though.

  • Wait. Did Phillip II come up with Macedonian pikemen as a thing?

  • whats the name of map

  • Wow, that opening artillery shot you zoomed in on was amazing. Sucks to be them.

  • I think Rome 2's should have ambush mode

  • @RiskyChilled actually already RTW had ambush mode. true, in campaign only.

  • Still makin videos after all this time... #respect

  • i learn more history from this guy rather when my teacher (sucks btw) is teaching me

    keep up the good work

his voice is like a general's...xDDDDDDDDD

  • The way you fought this battle reminded me of Gaugamela. General stops chasing the enemy general to save his infantry.

  • I'm very impressed :) All of your videos are entertaining, enjoyable and now informative!

Keep up the amazing work POM!

    - veteran fan

  • He would have done better to use his onagers on flaming mode, don't you think?

  • Nice battle as always.

Why did you put your general in your phalanx? Wouldn't Phillip II have been leading the Companion Cavalry?

  • I feel like you always have more cav and the better units but besides that good job

  • That's my favourite thing in Rome total war now.. is charging with macedonian and greek cav cuz of their epic "Charrrgge" before they hit then they smack into them

  • Pretty awesome to see how your so at a disadvantage but yet, you pretty much destroy your opponent without trouble. Good tactics. Well done Prince.

  • Yet another decisive victory. Good battle. If only I had RTW...oh well.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video, I've learned so much Greek history from your battles haha, keep them coming!

  • Who do you think is more important PoM king Philip II or alexander the great?

  • Hey prince, when did Macedon become an official separate country?

  • @unknown123012 you mean F.Y.R.O.M?

  • wow, it was painful to watch you so badly out-maneuver your opponent. Good job PoM!

  • Prince of Macedon: Under enemy's fire, I always thought it is less risky climb on a hill if your troops are marching in a narrow formation or, even better, a column... besides, when you attacked his right wing, the settlement of troops would be easier for you, just turning them in front of the ememy lines in a larger tight formation of pikemen

  • @21leonel21 Nope. Get in a column, and one lucky shot from the artillery will knock your guys out like bowling pins. It's easier to defend than to attack. This battle is easy as pie for the Greek City-States.

  • awesome!

  • @malaca777 thanks

  • you should fight the battle from the other side just to shut some haters

  • @TheLunaticSoldiers No way. This battle is ridiculously easy as the Greek City-States. Way too easy.

  • I AM A FIRIN MA MACEDOM: POOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  • Im a noob but i love watching you PoM but is there sea battles in RTW?

  • @commandoseals no sea battles unfortunately

  • @commandoseals There are no sea battles in RTW,only in ETW,NTW and S2TW

  • 4:47- rolling down boners? very rough? :o

  • Philip II=underrated legend, he made macedon a great power

  • @muf321 not as much as alexander, but all the people i have asked say that he is roman, probably because of the game RTW: Alexander

  • @UPFROMTHEDEAD12345 well alexander made macedon a superpower, but he did inherit what was already the aegeans strongest nation, Philip transformed Macedon from an afterthought to a very strong power.

ps: ppl really think alexander is roman????

  • @muf321 well ur right there alexander did make macedon a superpower now that i think about it and yes the people i have asked though that alexander was roman, as i said i think it is because on the game it says 'ROME TOTAL WAR: ALEXANDER

  • well i do follow your history i check sometime if you did a new vid

  • This is one of my favorite historical battles, and I was waiting for this one. Thanks for uploading. :)

  • man i miss playing this game on pc the online gaming for the mac is terrible

  • nice vid PoM , a bit easy for you though with cav and archers but still another great upload

  • @xScorpionTheGreatx the battle actually favors the Greek City-States HEAVILY in this battle. Trust me, if I had used the Greeks, then you would be saying it was too easy for me with the hill advantage, more denarii spent for the Greeks, and more heavy infantry.

And the Macedonians only had 1 archer unit. This battle should've been ridiculously easy for the Greek City-States to win. Do I have to fight every battle twice from both sides to prove this every single time?

  • @PrinceofMacedon very true, its sad people think its even

  • @xScorpionTheGreatx I think PoM would win pretty much either way in RTW.

  • always fun to re-do history

  • Hey Prince, nice video, and by the way, what is your opinion of this Greece vs Macedon thing online? I personally think that ancient Macedon was a Greek kingdom, but modern Macedonian is pure Slavic And Alexander the Great was an ancient Macedonian, so that means that he was also Greek.

  • @ajbenius ehm that's what pom(and all historians) says.eg. watch battle 1145

  • @ajbenius the land of ancient macedon is located in northen greece today.in that land live the greek macedonians.fyromians are slav"macedonians"(servians and bulgarians) and the ancient greeks called the land that fyrom is located paionia and dardania.

(and search about what i say)

  • @Nickbol09 I just take an interest in Ancient History (most specifically Alexander the Great & Ancient Macedon)

  • prince love the vids keep em coming :)

  • @2ndsquad2 thanks for watching them ;)

  • Seeing this to be a victory worthy of the Gods, what song or two would PoM play to celebrate this victory?

  • @aced1592 maybe something from MC Hammer

  • Shit,getting crucified is harsh...

  • If prince ever directed a movie on Macedonians or anything historical, I would so watch that. The commentary and battle are both entertaining and informative! :D

  • @EmpyrealFlux cool, let Hollywood know =)

  • I like Phillip as well. Had he not achieved what he did, Alexander wouldn't have been able to do what he did.

Phillip was already set to invade Persia before he was killed. Alexander sort of picked up where he left off. He did an amazing job nonetheless but Phillip was a very important part.

  • When you saved you Phalanx with your cav, would your cav not been killed anyway? I mean sure, they charged the back of the Greeks, what was on the other side of them though, giant sarrisas. Wouldn't friendly fire played a role there? Theres spears sticking out in every direction it seems.

  • @SupaTROopa2 Hammer & Anvil was a very famous tactic in History. I didn't invent it.

  • @PrinceofMacedon I guess it's just the way it looks. It looks as if after the cav initially charge through the Greeks they would be met with stabbing sarissas.

    Eh, I don't know.

  • I used to be in a Hoplite unit.............until I took an arrow to the knee

  • Medieval total war is middle ages

  • I remember when I used to beat greeks like ThePrinceofMacedon, then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @WWIIStudy101 Wow this joke is spreading fast....Either that or the Thalmor invented Knee-homing arrows during the Great War...

  • Q&A does the total war have a middle ages game i only know of this one and the Japan one

  • @ps3fanboy16 Medieval 2 Total War

  • happy birthday mate. love the vids. mike from england

  • @milanvillan thanks, dude ;)

  • Hey Prince, Will we see any Great War Nations: The Spartans anytime soon? If not, Awesome vid:D

  • @marshmellowman2011 not soon, but maybe in the future

  • Lee wooo` I was hoping you'd do a battle where Phillip was being ambushed in Thessaly :DD Awesome video POM ^^ *goes watching all the other vids I missed after being away from me computer*

  • @EvanoMusic ah, how convenient...I just happened to make a King Philip II vid ;)

  • When you fight the battles do you use group or not?

  • @madboy9xx Nope. I'm too precise for grouping

  • Does the uphill advantage make that much difference in Rome:total war, it makes a huge one in med 2

  • @Fatman5ish ...just as I said in the video...

  • man i wish could celebrate my bday by playin total war all day, happy b day

  • @WiLdBilL565 it's not my b-day

  • I want a hoplite unit to represent the lollipop guild.

  • Great Battle!

Quick question, will u buy "Fall of the Samurai"?

Would love to see battles from that in the future.

  • can you do a empire total war soon?

  • Happy birthday!

  • @EGIBDukeofWellington it's not my b-day, but thanks ;)

  • 'arrow to the knee joke here'

  • dude i might just show this to my teacher... make world civ fun :)

  • lol epic cavalry charge down the hill to save your phalanx...love your vids :) great battle

  • @CAR105729 thanks, dude =)

  • @PrinceofMacedon great battle

  • I find it interesting how just like Alexander the great inherited his father's great new army, then history repeated itself with Frederick the great doing the same, and kicking ass of course.

  • 08:55 wheeeeee

    I BELIEVE I CAN FLY

  • Another crushing victory PoM.

  • my comp wont let me install this game
