Very fitting name :D I felt proud by knowing most of the things that you say in your videos for the first time (I made an essay on Philip II)... It's only a shame that the ridge that Onomarchus used cannot be well represented on RTW (at least the vanilla maps), which would have given your opponent a bigger advantage by having a natural defense on the flanks and for his catapult, but he did get a good advantage with the slope he had in this match. Well played!
This guy showed absolutely horrible micro, I dont even see the point in showing battles vs such poor players, you might as well just do battles vs the AI to be honest.
Prince, u are the one tyhat inspried me to buy this game. I usually play as eithr the Maceodnians or the eastern romans, Some guy artex keeps fucking with me and uve fought him before right? can u do something about it please. Thanks.

You should play Hegemony: Philip of macedon (or Hegemony gold now.) Original game was based on Philip and around philip. And its a great game, if a bit of a hedache.
@kingofgreece100 plus his assassin wasn't persian but a greek. Most historians believe that the Persians gave him money to assasinate Phillip. His name was Pausanias and he was a member of Phillip's somatofylakes(bodyguards).
Could you just go back to regular multiplayer battles? Theres nothing wrong with this but i think the regular ones like the free for alls were pretty cool.
@lucas76021 I'm doing both, but right now, I'm doing this. If I go back to playing regular battles, I won't be as handicapped anymore, and I won't be talking about as much history. Patience. You guys see a couple of videos, and you think everything is gonna be the same for now on. But look at my history of videos...I always do things differently. Fact.
at 7:33 why does the Greek general have the general skin with the helmet and all? I thought the online battles didn't have that...or is this a special skin pack?
Whoever you were playing must have sucked because he had so many advantages, but no matter how bad the player the battle is still hard so i'm very impressed with this battle (awesome)
Nice battle Prince. For all those who are saying P.O.M had the easy army. His army units were inferior to the Greek City States army in terms of armor and weapons. At the end of it all it is the man, not the machine that carries the victory. Skill over technology can ensure victory such as the 300 Spartans at Philippi. Even though they lost 300 men, the Persians lost 100x more.
@MBjarno I'd only follow him if there was a glorious speech at the start and P.O.M was first in the fight... Bravery, Courage and Respect for their fellow soldiers, that is what i want to see in a general. (Yay i'm exeptionally wierd...)
@M1NDSH1FT3R Bravery and courage can't really be shown in a game, but i believe that P.O.M has it. Respect is something he shows almost every video, by speaking and teaching about the great commanders of old. I consider commanding abillity as high as bravery, no sense in following a man that would make a frontal cavalry charge at a line of pikes. P.O.M being an alexander and i would stand in a lesser commanding role behind him. Maybe one of the higher ranked companions.
Prince you ever read a book by a fantastic british writer called david gemmell "the lion of macedon" ?, its part fantasy but more later on and in the follow up book he made, in the start he follows Parmenion as a boy who is hated by the other spartan nobles, gemmell was awesome at battle scenes, this one here is in it if memory serves me well, also lots about the young phillip and how he built the army etc, you would id say like it
That's my favourite thing in Rome total war now.. is charging with macedonian and greek cav cuz of their epic "Charrrgge" before they hit then they smack into them
Prince of Macedon: Under enemy's fire, I always thought it is less risky climb on a hill if your troops are marching in a narrow formation or, even better, a column... besides, when you attacked his right wing, the settlement of troops would be easier for you, just turning them in front of the ememy lines in a larger tight formation of pikemen
@21leonel21 Nope. Get in a column, and one lucky shot from the artillery will knock your guys out like bowling pins. It's easier to defend than to attack. This battle is easy as pie for the Greek City-States.
@UPFROMTHEDEAD12345 well alexander made macedon a superpower, but he did inherit what was already the aegeans strongest nation, Philip transformed Macedon from an afterthought to a very strong power.
@muf321 well ur right there alexander did make macedon a superpower now that i think about it and yes the people i have asked though that alexander was roman, as i said i think it is because on the game it says 'ROME TOTAL WAR: ALEXANDER
@xScorpionTheGreatx the battle actually favors the Greek City-States HEAVILY in this battle. Trust me, if I had used the Greeks, then you would be saying it was too easy for me with the hill advantage, more denarii spent for the Greeks, and more heavy infantry.
And the Macedonians only had 1 archer unit. This battle should've been ridiculously easy for the Greek City-States to win. Do I have to fight every battle twice from both sides to prove this every single time?
Hey Prince, nice video, and by the way, what is your opinion of this Greece vs Macedon thing online? I personally think that ancient Macedon was a Greek kingdom, but modern Macedonian is pure Slavic And Alexander the Great was an ancient Macedonian, so that means that he was also Greek.
@ajbenius the land of ancient macedon is located in northen greece today.in that land live the greek macedonians.fyromians are slav"macedonians"(servians and bulgarians) and the ancient greeks called the land that fyrom is located paionia and dardania.
If prince ever directed a movie on Macedonians or anything historical, I would so watch that. The commentary and battle are both entertaining and informative! :D
I like Phillip as well. Had he not achieved what he did, Alexander wouldn't have been able to do what he did.
Phillip was already set to invade Persia before he was killed. Alexander sort of picked up where he left off. He did an amazing job nonetheless but Phillip was a very important part.
When you saved you Phalanx with your cav, would your cav not been killed anyway? I mean sure, they charged the back of the Greeks, what was on the other side of them though, giant sarrisas. Wouldn't friendly fire played a role there? Theres spears sticking out in every direction it seems.
