  • remember to put your volume down on this one.

  • You are genius

  • how many skateboards did die for this :D

  • I would need one about four feet wide

  • fantastic

i would disagree with mr klevespike in the point of being a waste of money

bec this machine is very expensive if you got it from the original manufacturer

and it helps you to get to elite performance on the road

and in the winter showers or snow it is the fun

  • im sorry but why did you build this its a total waste of money time and effort. You bought a bike to cycle outside stop being so lazy. you made this you you chould cycle and watch the tv.

  • @kobebmx

It will soon be close to 10 degrees outside with several feet of snow where I live. This is the only way that one could ride for the next five months. I don't think that being lazy is the reason we ride on rollers.

  • @kobebmx - Are you really that dumb that you don't understand the purpose of rollers??

  • If you are willing to release blueprints that would be awsome. Atleast were did you get the rollers?

  • Hey, do you have the blue print?

Give us a tutorial on how to make it!!!!!!

    Thanks!

  • your own home trainer

  • i wish i wasnt so lazy. i would bui;ld a roller coaster in my backyard, well if i had a dollar to my name

  • ah skate wheels.

  • ok well how do you get off?

  • haha the same way you get off any set of rollers--you unclip one foot, let the rollers come to a stop, and then lean toward that foot and put your foot down. it's more of a drop than on your road bike but definitely doable.

  • @jjwumaster hahah, is that what your side platform is for? maybe you should build a full base around the rollers. would be pretty cool.

  • Just jump off

    I do

  • @weelee430 personnaly i get off with my right hand, but i guess you could do it either way.

  • Sei un genio! (you are a genious!!!)

    Very compliments,

    Andreas from Italy

  • How much do you want for it? Seriously.

  • Sweeeeet rollers! Hey can you make me a set? What did they cost to make? S

  • can you coast on this trainer like the real road, or does it quickly slow down like the trainer you attach your skewer to?

  • I'm not sure any indoor trainer will allow you to coast like the road, but rollers are much, much better than turbo trainers. Especially if you get one with heavy, metal small diameter rollers.

  • Better than an exercise bike

  • can someone please tell me title of this NIN track?

  • Nice. Industrial metal and stoner metal are good for working out to.

  • Are the wheels in some sort of channel or just on top of the wood? Also, do the wheels move on the axle or with it?

  • Sorry for the late responses all--the wheels are just sitting on top of the wood--no need for channels or anything. The wheels rotate on the axle--the axle does not rotate. Good luck!

  • dude, you did a wicked good job on those

  • Can you stand up and sprint like you can with the InsideRide E-motion rollers ?

  • Yes you can--you can see me doing a light sprint at the end of the video.

  • Hey! Nice job! I built something like this also - my vid is on here, too (DIY Free-motion Rollers #2). I like seeing how other people did theirs. Just a quick thought, FWIW; I think you might want to lower the front "bumpers" so they are more "rubber-to-rubber". From the vid, it looks like you might accidentally run them through your spokes.

  • Very nice job. I live in Pdx 20 miles from the E-Motion site but can't justify almost

$800 just to standup on my current cycleops rollers.

Might consider building something like this.

Thanks a lot for the idea/demo homemade unit.

  • you should so try and chuck a generator on there

  • The Kreitler drums are supposed to be primo. But the roller setups don't come with that e-motion styled compensation that you have set up.

Your roller set is beautiful compared to all the other homemade ones i've seen on here.

  • Do you have any plans for this? I'd like to build one.

  • Essentially, take a bunch of 2x2's, build two parallel rails, and then figure out a way to "float" the rollers on top. I drilled 3/8" holes through each side and inserted a long 3/8" diameter threaded rod. Then I used rollerskate wheels (use skateboard--it's cheaper) and held those in place on the rods with locknuts. Tension both ends to your wooden frame and voila!

  • Thx

  • KICK ASS SONG!!!!!!

You did a good job making it too.

  • I have an anchient set of rollwers (and the rubber bands have perished. Just wondering why your rollwers move slightly back and forth...

  • There's a thousand yous, there's only one of me.

    P.S. Nice couch

  • Good job rigging up the Kreitler's, they're a little trickier then fixed frame's eh? I had a bunch of people asking me how to do it, now i'll just pass them your way :P

    Enjoy! And welcome to free-motion.

  • You're a genius.

  • amazing nice work. What are you using to stop the rollers from moving back and forth?

  • Rubber tie down straps secured to the wood frame and clamped to the rollers themselves

  • hi man, this thing is good for training? i mean, not for fitness purposes, training couse here where i train is more like a paradise for mountain bikers and i want start the clycling route, i hope you can give a idea.... grettings from mexico :D

  • sorry i almost forget say...... how much you get that rollers and were i can find a good one?, again thanks.

  • The resistance is low for fitness, but it does mimic the road pretty well; the Kreitler rollers are around $250, you can find cheaper ones that will work just as fine.

  • i cant find the free motion rollers or is the e-motion rollers wiht another name or what? where i cant get a free motion ? i mean i know they are expensive but i read if i get another rollers have not motion like yours you cant sprint, is that true?

  • thats great how do u drive the front wheel

  • There is a rubber band connecting one of the rear wheel rollers to the front wheel so that they both turn at the same rate.

  • wow thats awesome I'm gonna make one!
