  • i love this song and him so much r.i.p i miss you so much

  • :) What a great memory this song is...love it very much :) Thank you for the share, my Friend xo Annie

  • The way he sings this...i can't even find words to describe it! I love Ricky sooo much!!!

  • Wow, I never knew he could sing like this. It is pretty good. I like Bobby Darin's version but I love Ricky Nelson's version just as much. They are so different in the execution it makes them both amazing.

  • i love this song so much

  • I LOVE THIS SONG AND HIM MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW ITS MY FOR EVER

    ITS MY FAVORITE

  • he sang this song in a bar i worked in up north.. i do believe it was his last concert.. not sure.. but he played all the old ones and his new records.. he played for the weekend for me.. he was absolutely awesome!!!! and omg.. just as handsome in real life.. and i was only 21 at the time..

  • This is just about my favorite song right now cuz it's so true for me..

  • nice

  • "Sweeter Than You" would sound great with this musical accompaniment. He had a Hell of a voice. I love the old Ricky and Buddy. Things end early for a reason. I'm not sure what though!

  • He performed this song on Saturday Night Live. I was just floored......he is great !!!!!

  • @gronia Maybe somewhere on You Tube there's that vid on SNL. Peace!

  • elvis once said that if james dean could sing he would sound like ricky nelson' what ever that meant.

  • Superb rendition of the great Bobby Darin's composition. When did Rick make this recording? Never knew this version existed. Thanks for sharing it.

  • my own cause i want

  • It sounds like Mark K of Dire Straits is playing guitar. I don't know how to spell his name! Cool song.

  • @jeffrefrig ...id does !!! I think it's Knoffler. First I heard of Mark was when he played on Dylan's "Slow Train Coming" album....back in the day......

  • Great voice, but too slow.

  • It reminds me of someone VERY SPECIAL .

  • Wow, he was beautiful! :O

  • Bobby Darin was Quoted as saying, " I wrote this song, and Ricky Nelson Sings it".

  • 3 people have nightmare lovers. You poor souls.

  • Reminds me of my uncles Fred and Jude... I miss you guys!

  • One word - "Dreamy". I had a major crush on Ricky when I was about 16. He was so quiet and yet so smooth and yes, kind of shy.

  • HI, NICE TO SEE THAT YOU'VE GIVEN CREDIT TO THE LATE GREAT "BOBBY DARIN" FOR WRITING THIS BEAUTIFUL TUNE. THANKS FOR THE TREAT,TOM D. BRICK,NJ. {AT THE SHORE}.

  • very handsome face and smooth voice...I love to listen to this one is the best.

  • this song is so smooth...his voice is so easy to listen to

  • I Love this Version 100 times better than Darin's up beat version- more mellow and a GREAT slow dance (Wedding) song!!!

  • 2:28-2:30 you can hear the windows sound

  • Very nice arrangement .....so smooth

  • This is from the "Memphis Sessions" disc. RIck would have hated!

  • @cesarr956 Artists sometimes do not particularly "like" part of their expressed work, but the fans are bound by No such Restrictions,so, you see: we can Love our beloved artists without consulting with you or any other nay-sayers.

  • @elmerhdga Please. This is not the original version recorded by Rick. This was released without Rick's consent and his partner during these sessions, John Beland stated that if it was one thing Rick hated it was people interfering with his music. So please, get off of your high horse.

  • Love this! both versions are great, this is a more slow, and calmer version <3 love you Ricky!

  • Saw Rick perform this song in Halifax, Nova Scotia, just a short time before he died. Was coming home from a gig of my own, stopped outside the club where he was onstage, and just stood on the sidewalk, watching him do this song. A moment that meant a lot to me.

  • Great version of this song. Bobby Darin would approve. Anyone know if this is Duck on the lead guitar? It must be either him or Mark Knopler.....

  • @JohnGee1977 The lead guitarist, is the great James Burton.

  • Where can I find this version???

    Thanks

  • Doesn't sound like RN to me.

  • @Arieliondotcom that's because "RN" was Not "Ricky" the boy anymore, when he did this number in the 1980s, he was the mature Rick, and knew what he was singing about, and was TOTALLY "RN", regardless of late-day fumblers and bumblers like you.

  • We still think of you Ricky!!!! Will never forget you. So glad your songs are on YouTube .

    R.I.P.

  • Never heard this version. Ricky was always a great singer, pity he's no longer with us! But I don't think this is as good as the Bobby Darin version, it's just a bit too slushy. Sorry folks but it's just my opinion!

  • I only have one gripe with this version of the song.

His voice is so gorgeous and he sings amazingly well, but he sings the rhythm so straight-forwardly, there's no surprise because he doesn't mix up the chorus, and I swear he never articulates a new syllable EVER except either right on the beat, or right on the off-beat. Never any triplets, or on the eight-notes or anything fun, just two-and-three, and-one-and-and.

But other than that it's addicting.

  • @HypotheticalMuffins Ricky's simple and straightforward style is what gives his songs their mesmerizing quality. I covered a few Ricky Nelson songs and posted them to youtube. People say I sound like him. You're welcome to check them out. I'd love your opinion.

  • yeah yeah yeah? it's not the same with out the "yeah yeah yeah" but Dreeeamy like Ricky ♥

  • I'm amazed @ how "sweetly" he sings this song. He sounds older here....thx friend....phyllis

  • I SOOOOOOOO love his version

  • Ricky Nelson doing this song was the best thing they could ever have done...... god i <3 love <3 his voice!!!!

  • Rick Nelson's cover version of this song is the only one that is worth a damn. I think he was magic. Every thing he did was amazing.

  • so smooooth and dreamy :) put's me in a trance ♥

  • The smoothest, sweetest male vocalist I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. Some of the tastiest guitar work ever!

  • One of my favorite Ricky Nelson songs-great tempo!

  • fritz5154

Thank you for this Ricky Nelson tribute. I'm old enough to remember buying all of his albums and I love every song to this day. He was a very big deal.

  • what LP is this from..beautiful

  • Ricky Nelson did a excellent cover of this song and i like the smooth guitar rythm in the background i give this 5/5 but i wish i could give it more

  • @fraziel07 What do you mean you wish you could give it more? They took away the numeral rating system a year ago. You can't give it any number, asshole.

  • @dopplesoldners I meant in my opinion using youtubes rating system dam no need to get all emotional about it shit

  • @dopplesoldners Only an asshole would call someone else an asshole for such a minor thing.... ASSHOLE!

  • @fraziel07 Playing lead guitar is the great James Burton.

  • Ricky Nelson did a excellent cover of this song and i like this version and Paul Anka's version

  • Marieren,

Great song by Ricky. Thanks for sharing.

    S/F Barney

  • @buddyeagle excellent observations! so true.

  • @buddyeagle

He certainly could. His wonderful voice and unique way of singing is much missed. Have you heard him sing You Don't Know Me; wonderful:)

  • Bobby Darin's version is better

  • A different version of this is on the Stay Young album. Gotta be listened to with a good set of earphones. It has less emphasis on the instruments, more on Rick's voice. He was absolutely amazing. Much more subtle, much more sincere, and much more sensual than any other version of this song.

  • A recording of Ricky's that most of us aren't familiar with, but it's like all of his songs,

it's the Ricky we all know and love.

  • Very special version ,Ricky Nelson,I miss you forever!

  • Ricky sang this in his own style, dreamy and tender.

  • I prefer the Darin version, but this one is awesome great

  • Beautiful.I love it.Thank you very much.

    Kisses!!!
