  • how to chose

  • 你好!

  • how to chose the character?????????????????? what is the secret key??????????????? how to chose!!!!????? makes me crazyzzyzyyzzyzyzyzyzyzzyzyzyz i want to select from the 4 choices on the right but how????!!!! nobody writes about this

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @fory230 I went crazy looking for this too. You press on the trackpad, copying the location of the character you want, on the trackpad. so if you want the top right character, tap on the top right corner, to get that character. Found that out from a different video.

  • @fory230 问得好。

  • is this possible in arabic?

  • ive the new macbook pro with snow leopard, it has multitouch trackpad, and i went to 'system preferences' and chose 'language and text' and 'input sources', but no option...

  • wish i had the shiny mb now instead of the white one :P. O well, i would only wanna show it to my taiwanese friend and then have no further use for it.

  • About how to activate it :

Go to System Preferences, Language & Text, Input Sources then search for Chinese for exemple.

You should have a preference to display the interface (ctrl+space by default).

The option to show the interface is only available for laptops with multitouch trackpad (if you don't, you'll not see the option).

  • So it doesn't work on a macbook except for the discontinued aluminum one that became a macbook pro?

  • how do you activate it?

  • think it will be possible to write faster on the trackpad that it will be to use pinyin?

  • how the helldoyouactivateit

  • forget about my last post, just found out how it works. :-)

  • Thanks for the video. I have a question: what do you do to _choose_ one of the suggested characters? I couldn't do that on the SL beta I installed, because as long as the writing pad is shown on screen, a) the mouse pointer is "trapped" within the writing area shown, so it cannot be used to make the selection, and b) none of the keys are active, except the combination control-shift-space, which makes the writing pad, together with the suggested characters, disappear from the screen.

    thanks.

  • do you think every chinese can type chinese 100 billion times faster than that?

  • How do you do this? What application in Mac OS X. Does it work in any other language? MSG ME THanks.

  • This is in Snow Leopard =..= did you not even bother to look at the version of OS X he as.

  • this song is ole espana

    by michael& die

  • olé España! lol

  • Is something similiar possible for japanese Kanji?

  • I hope so

  • that question alone shows you have no clue about Japanese, Chinese, Kanji characters or anything connected to those three topics.

  • Your reply is confusing - maybe you just haven't tried the feature yourself, but it's a perfectly valid question to ask.

I came across quite a few characters that just aren't recognised. Also you wouldn't be able to do any of the hiragana stuff so you'd have to write the kanji part of a word - for example 話す, you'd write 話 on the touchpad and add the す manually with the keyboard. It could still be useful for someone copying a kanji from a picture or a book, say

  • @bilalsheikh Hirigana and Kanji are Japanese, and the words in Chinese and Japanese that look the same, mean different things :/

  • music fail

  • song song song, what song is this?

  • The song name is "impagable" but I don't know more about it.

  • i was expecting chinese music. =p

  • awesome, FINALLY on the Mac! it's funny the UI is exactly the same as the one on the iPhone shame it took them so long to do it...

  • Can't wait for Snow Leopard!!

  • Wow that was cool. Does anyone know how to do this?

    I wanna do this too!

    BTW, nice song - Hombre.

  • What is this song it sounds spanish

  • This is a German song: Ole Espana; performed by a German singer, "Michael Schanze" and the German National Soccer Team (!) ; produced for the FIFA World Championchip 1982 in Spain.

  • This is nice, and I like the UI! However, when I switched to Mac, I always have missed Japanese IME from Windows.

There is no way to write a character and get a suggestion for the Japanese characters. Even if Apple adds this Chinese character feature, anyone who speaks or writes either language knows that the characters are not 100% interchangeable.

Apple has included a full and wonderful Japanese dictionary, let's hope they include more Japanese-language friendly writing features, too.

  • Yeah I don't get why you had to put up this video either. My uncle has a snow cone maker that makes AMAZING snow cones.

  • Great !!!

FRIKIS
