@landersom You're right that we sped it up quite a bit, but it was DEFINITELY not our director's fault. Back then, we were a simple small group from the one choir from a small Christian high school. I think we did pretty well for having high school students who have never sang before, even though we were nervous and going too fast

You're rushing...or your choir director is making you go too fast. Either way, slow it down! Also, make it more bouncy, less legato.
Occasionally tenor/bass voices stick out.
You also might want to work on dynamics and diction; however, vowels were usually great.
