Nukes cost 200/200 and 8 supply in SC1, but they did way more damage. Building them from a command center add-on (Nuke silo) was really a pain, since you sacrificed the comsat station.
To those talking about the nukes: Left to right Nuke 1 killed 2 supply depots and a turret Nuke 2 didn't land because first nuke killed his own ghost Nuke 3 killed 2 techlab Nuke 4 killed refinery that was mined out and 2 supply depots Total dmg excluding minor dmg to buildings and refinery: 600/50 gas Total cost of 4 nukes: 400/400 That's not cost effective at all. The drop did do a good amount of dmg, but the main thing is it forced him out of position, which led to a push to the middle.
@KyoPhan133 The nukes prevented the vikingblob / ravenblob / tanks from coming back to defend. It also killed all the add-ons and would halt production for a very long time.
@tengen1112 I'm just talking about the cost vs dmg of nukes themselves, but that is a good point. In regards to the add-ons though, he was already maxed even after the drop and had other productions in other places.
@krzyxbne he moved his entire army, lost tech, and most of all he knows that hes vulnerable to something he was sure he was protected from. it did a lot.
@krzyxbne A nuke costs 100 minerals and 100 gas. It has to kill very, very little to do no damage. The fact that MVP only lost like 1 Thor makes it even better.
@krzyxbne watch the rest of the game. MVP uses the fact that top retreated into his main to secure a positional win outside the front of his natural. THAT is the genius of this move, not the fact that he shot off a bunch of nukes
I remember this game...

Nice to see that many nukes in one go, even if its obvious that it did little initial damage.

Nuke is OP
you have to kill so little to make it cost effective

@efriccero They don't cost supply any more too. Theyre definitely underused

@krzyxbne
Actually, by moving all of his siege tanks back to his base to defend he became vulnerable at the front. MVP soon capitalized on it.

That was a super effective attack.

@AlexanderEddy
the nukes themselves weren't effective but the tactic of forcing top out of position at the price of 600/500 was (1 ghost, 4 nukes)

@AlexanderEddy and not to mention the amount of stress it puts on the opponent. mind games
