  • 240 we meet again..

  • great song! The lyrics have so deep meanin..looooove it! <3

  • in every video, Kyo has the most amazing eyes :D

  • Lets bloom flowers of attempted suicide. <3

  • how can anyone dislike this??!! lol

  • I love the band Dir En Grey, they Rock!!!!

  • They rock out so cool in this video.

  • That's a really beautiful song

  • @RainPaperPain no they don't. some words end with N

  • "high quality????" really???

  • This song is great, yes. Although, my comment is irrelevant to the video. Anyone notice in Japanese annunciations of words, they always end in a vowel? Anyone think that's odd? :PP I'm just saying.. I noticed this the other day. XD

  • @RainPaperPain Not really, they also end with "n" sometimes.

  • @DaanKembangMawar Really? I've never noticed them. I only ever notice the words with a vowel at the end. I blame subconscious selective reading... XD Show me a video with words with n? :DD

  • @RainPaperPain Every syllable ends in a vowel usually, with the exception of the 'n' sound such as the word Yokan which is the title for another Dir en Grey song, and the exception of some sounds being dropped from the word to shorten them, such as the conjugation 'desu' that is usually pronounced 'dess'.

  • I love Dir en Grey so much. Their music got me through some bad times.

  • dir en grey kicking ass since 1997.

  • @GoXiGi The year I was booorn!

  • you ENHANCED sound quality? why is it 240p? what ever DIR EN GREY! WOO!

  • @TheXLTE FUCK YOU! :D!

  • i like this band but those are some weird lyrics! its like hello gaara.

  • I find the meaning fd life!!!!!!!!!

  • I find the meaning od life!!!!!!!!!

  • You guys do know that there is more people in the band then this "Kyo" guy right?

  • We get it, you put subtitles on your video. No need for a description that's entirely about subtitles.

  • Kyo is so SUGOI!

  • บางทีฟังเพลงนี้ก้อจะร้องไห้ได้เหมือนกัน

  • I'd say that TMOAB is aggressive, but it's not very heavy. Uroboros and Dum Spiro Spero are their heaviest albums IMO.

  • 4.07 -4.12

    "TELL MAAAAA, IM LEARNING, GUITAAAR!"

  • @TheBlacoutGirl Oh noes it fit the song so it's bad, lets insult!

  • @BlackScythe0 ..........what. :L

  • man Kyo has so much Swag.

  • ah early 00's goths were so in full power.

  • keren beud

  • haha...ironically...this is the first song i've ever heard from diru :D

  • @chessismygame9 Look up Umbrella, Mr. Newsman, Child Prey, and Machiavellism. Some of their best, as far as I'm concerned. Obscure is pretty good too.

  • @visiblyjarred Lol...Ive had those songs on my Ipod since 3 years ago xDD

  • this song is great~

  • I love Kyo!!!!!! So hot!!! Japanese are so beautiful!!!

  • Aww... So sad, but it's a good song.

  • great diru song

  • Pretty much my favorite song ever. *~*

  • wow its been almost 7 years since ive listened to this band. i loved this one back in the day :P

  • I'm taking a pole here to Dir En Grey fans. What do you guys think is Dir En Grey's heaviest album?

  • @McRip45 In my opinion, I'd have to say The Marrow of a Bone was their heaviest.

  • @drunkinsamurai Then you've obviously haven't heard their new album x_x too heavy for my taste :/

  • @McRip45 dum spiro spero

  • This was the reason i began listening to Japansese Metal, thank you Dir En Grey :D

  • Shinya...O_O

  • even after years from this songs release I still feel this song down to the bone. Master piece in my view.

  • Love this song!!!

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater no some ppl say his name is Tooru, one of many generic common names in japan, i don't buy it thats like claiming some famous rockstar from america has the last name johnson...i think 1 day some die hard just put that up to get attention idk mebe it is who knows...

  • I'm not sure how the language is "structured". Could anyone split up "hanahanshiku" and "chitte" into english, word by word? Thank you kindly.

  • Kyo looks like Rufio from the movie "Hook"

  • This was definitely my favorite album from them.

  • FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG

  • Dir En Grey is good but NO band can beat Guns N´ Roses

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater You're comparing two different worlds.

I used to love GNR but sadly they're not as good as this...

  • @ChickenyFlavored The old GNR is the only good one, the new one with only Axl sucks

  • love this song...always gives me goosebumps

  • Tooru is a beast!!!

  • love the song and vid

  • 2:13 used to be my background... don't know what happened to it though.

  • i love this song.

  • I never found any bands like them.....best guys ever.

  • @beabbong if you like them i bet youll like these guys :o check out ChthoniC - 49 Theurgy Chains bad ass song :D

  • @Thinah666 YES SON MY FRAV BAND JUST MADE A NEW ABLUMMMM! :D

  • I think this band became progressive,if they were to progress more and done some werid and awesome stuff, then they'll be avant-garde.

  • i LOVE this song so damn much i love love love it and i wished he had sang it at the concert in atlanta last year.

  • The lyrics are wrong in a lot of places (both the japanese and english), but it's a nice song all the same. :)

  • his make up is soo fucking freaky but soo good. The lyrics are just sooooo good

  • @zoshii1 I wannalook like him but I could NEVER pull that off, cause I'm white T^T

  • I've been listening for them for more than 4 years now, looking back. It's a feeling that can't be expressed by words.

  • IMO, kind of the best song from diru:)

  • omg I totally forgot about this band/song ive been empty with out them

  • can anyone recommend me a good dir en grey album to start with

  • @Snoflake125 Withering to Death is really good

  • @Snoflake125 Withering to Death, Kisou and definetly listen to Vulgar. It's a must. All of their albums are good though.

  • listen> /watch?v=L4SGgyqrAhw

  • man I just love these japanese bands dir en grey loudness sex machineguns x japan show yah sigh and meny more the sad thing about those bands, when they come to U.S they play in sorry small clubs I would like to go to JAPAN and see this bands
  • I just love this song. Makes me tear up. Always brings back good memories of them in earlier years :,)

  • I love how they mix japanese and english

  • I wish all the scene kids and idiot fad kids could have the understanding of Dir En Grey saw them at k tour like 2 years ago they ripped apart bmth his vocals and his pain is amazing fair play Kyo your amazing. x

  • actually from various documentaries kyo is very religious. no one knows his real name and they are not emo or gothic well they might be but i doubt it. kyo goes thru like seven or eight different stages each album he seems to b into something else. like now with lotus and obscure he shaved his head and their first album as diru they were looking like visual kei. i personlly like them in this video with hair. theyr band name means "yourself in the grey "

  • @haikme by real name u mean Tooru Niimura? ..... but i agree with everything else u say <3

  • @haikme Wait, his real name isn't Kyo?!?!

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater no, why do you think he's only refered to as Kyo and never a last name. Nobody in DEG uses there real name. Kyo and one other member ( I cant remember who) spell there name with the kanji for it upsidedown actually creating more mystery. Kyo, Die, Kaouru, Toshiya, and Shinya are all stage names, they've never revealed there real names though.

  • @SlowmoLife Wow! I never actually thought of that...That's...strange. Now I'm strangely not goin to be able to think of them in the same way again. Just because of that lol

  • @SlowmoLife

lol? ofcourse they have... and Kaoru is infact his real name. Die's name is Daisuke, hence "Die".....

  • @Kaptenhuahua I could be wrong on some of the members but i do know for a fact that Kyo's real name is not Kyo and that he spells it with the kanji upside down, and one other member does the same but i cant remember who exactly it is

  • @SlowmoLife

Kyo's kanji is written as it should be, as for his real name it's Tooru Nishimura/Niimura. That's what he signs his art with.

  • i luv Kyo!!!! DIRU 4EVA!!!!!!!

  • Though I listen many times, a melody is good. I do not get tired.xD

  • LOL.. wtf i this XD

  • it's a good song I admitted. most girls I know that only like this band because only for there look's not for there music. इन दिनों आवारा लड़की

  • My girlfriend is really in to Dir en grey, but I just can't get into them that much. There's something very fundamental to their sound that I just can't get over.

  • i would like to know how you enhanced the sound and visuals, it still sounds like shit

  • best japanese band period always and forever #1

  • who is the idiot that called this emo ? ok its a dark theme but people need to really pay attentipn to the lyrics , this song aint sayin kill ya'self so whoever is complainin needs to hop off like the children they are , jus sayin .

  • shit this song is so different from all their other stuff i've heard

    and its feaking awesome!

Dir en Grey can do no wrong :D

  • damn pretty personal lyrics. didnt know this song was about him attempting suicide showing the scars at the end

  • I love this song so so so so much!!

my all time fav Diru song,

Kyos voice is so amazing beautiful and fantastic....

quit fucking posting dickish comments on this video you fags,

I love everyone here that loves this song and band,

we all dont wanna look at your dumb ass nasty comments.

  • There are no words for how much I love this song <3

  • I fucking love dir en grey i forgot about them, thats a mistake ill not make again!

  • I made an ambient techno song, if you're interested! It's on my profile :D

  • "Whats lost cant be born again" So beautiful.

  • @anbmjj Yeah so is the "hell in my heart" ...

  • Kyo has amazing vocal range. It's such a shame they can't tour everywhere... I would love to hear them play in my town.

  • OK seriously KingCrimson776. Dir en grey deal with stuff like abortion, Rape, suicide and losing people.! Kyo (The lead singer... that's the guy with the mic who doesn't rap, not that you'ld get that) has lived a proverbial Hell and so therefore because he's not always screaming and Slashing himself up left right and centre and isn't wasted off his face at every concert he'sgay? I'm sorry mate, but you really need to think about your conceptions of homosexuality.

  • @Chaoticdespayre That doesn't make the music not suck.

  • @KingCrimson776 see previous statement.

  • "so even if I engraved the meaning that I lived in my hand"

"suicide is the proof of life"

"even the loved ones scatter like petals from a flower in my hand"

I normally don't care about lyrics, only music. But Dir en grey is the one exception for a reason. Kyo's lyrics are always so insightful. This song, for example, captures depression, suicidal tendencies, and self-hate better than anything else I've heard.

  • Favourite Dir En Grey song by far ^^

  • The only this that annoys me off about jrock is that it's fucking difficult to sing along to!

  • happy birthday kyo(was yesterday im late lol) and kaoru :)

  • Still The Best Song and Japanese Band Growing Stronger!

  • @KingCrimson776

if you think so :D maybe you don't know them at all

not all j-rock music means anime

  • @KingCrimson776 Dude, have you even heard any Bleach soundtracks? This sound isn't exactly very commercial, is it?

  • @phsycofairy I love the instrumental parts of the Bleach soundtrack, but this is the kind of band that does the intro/credits music for them, which nearly always sucks.

  • @KingCrimson776

As I already told you, Dir en grey DOES NOT make soundtracks. Listen to some of their newest songs, and then come here and tell me they do anime music. Tracks like Obscure [Lotus version] or Hageshisa to kono mune no naka de karamitsuita shakunetsu no yami (ahahaha I'm not making up a title, it's this long) are everything but OST XDD

Please, inform yourself about a band before making this kind of judgement

  • @SeleneMalfoy I'm telling you, there is stuff like this all the time in anime credits. Sometimes it's the really frilly gay stuff, sometimes it's the heavier but still gay stuff like these guys.

  • @KingCrimson776 .....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Yessss. You have no idea, you don't know the lyrics (not of this song in particular, in general), you don't know anything bandrelated... oh man, think whatever you want, if you can't take apart a band that does anime from a band that does not, well... peace and love XD

  • @SeleneMalfoy Yikes, you must be a connoisseur of faggoty Jappo-rock.

  • @KingCrimson776

actually, yes :3 at least when we are talking about Dir en grey. I'm not saying they are the best band in the world, nor their music is flawless, but they're not to be underestimated IMHO ... and anyway WOW, you even know about their sexuality, cheers for you.

  • @KingCrimson776 *facepalm*

  • @phsycofairy Dude, there is screamer crap in Bleach credits sometimes, it's really not any less commercial than this.

  • @KingCrimson776 I lol'd with your stupid comment

  • @PokeBaal I lol'd with your stupid band.

  • @KingCrimson776 Quote "I've never recorded OSTs for animes because I have never been approached to do one and would never record one as I don't believe my songs are applicable for the material". Organise your facts before you debate a topic my friend

  • @Chaoticdespayre The fact that someone asked him that question in the first place means his band sounds like anime music.

  • @KingCrimson776 Actually he was asked in comparison to those bands who HAVE recorded anime tracks such as screw and Dir en grey have been referred to as being in the same genre as screw, Gazette, Girugamesh. But since you're bored and obviously could never understand such expressive material as it's not about boozing and slutting... You wouldn't understand it and talking to you is a waste of everyone's time.

  • @Chaoticdespayre Yeah, you're so expressive and deep for listening to Japanese goths singing about "edgy" topics. Anyone who doesn't like this band must be into songs about "boozing and slutting" (is that even a word?) Maybe I should stop listening to King Crimson and Beethoven because they sing about "making it rain" too much.

  • @KingCrimson776 Lmao. Not everyone listens to them because they're edgy, some people actually like them for dealing with topics that they go through as humans, people. Your choice of music is your own. No-one is actually saying that your opinion is wrong. It's the over-agressive tone that your using to voice your opinion that no-one agrees with. (And fyi, yes slutting is a word)

  • @Chaoticdespayre Oh jeez, I just read the subtitles... "the flowers of vanity" <-- c'mon, so anime.

Well, slutting does come up on urban dictionary.

  • @KingCrimson776 Ok well whoring / moneyless prostitution.

  • @Chaoticdespayre "moneyless prostitution" = kind of an contradiction dontcha think

  • @KingCrimson776 not really. Prostitution= sleeping with a number of different men for money - for money = sleeping with a number of different men.

    Moneyless prostitution.

  • @KingCrimson776 However we're not here to argue on my somewhat dubious use of the english language. Mainly because We're not here to argue unnecessarily. At least, I'm not.

  • Comment removed

  • @KingCrimson776 There's nothing wrong with Kring Crimson, Beethoven or this band. If anything, I would think a King Crimson fan could appreciate the musical diversity Dir En Grey represents. While some songs might have too much of a pop touch for me, their music is so diverse, I can find something I like.

  • @Spwee1494Halo What is the absolute greatest song of these guys, I'll look it up.

  • @KingCrimson776 Their music is varied enough so there's no "absolute best". I really dig their songs like Conceived Sorrow, Inconvenient Ideal wich are powerful, slow and sad, but I started listening to them with Obscure, wich is pretty gore, almost violent but so efficient. Give em a try!

  • @KingCrimson776 oh and you might not want to watch the Obscure clip, unless you feel like watching zombie-like whores drooling on each others!

  • I like Dir en grey :D

  • Faggot? Emo? Bitch?

There's a lot of children in here, period.

Yeah, I enjoy Dir en grey. No, I don't want to be Japanese, I just appreciate music that's from a different culture. Are they Emo? I don't really give a shit. Most music is formulaic and can easily be categorized with labels. People who are unimaginative and dumb like to use labels. I just think of them as Dir en grey.

Besides, the generic term known as Emo nowadays wasn't even around when this band formed in 1997, fuckheads.

  • @evillurkswithinusall Fucking agree all the way, dude.

  • @evillurkswithinusall NOOB. Dir En Grey isn't bad, thats not my point. But if you don't know when emo music started, don't spread stupidity. Sunny Day Real Estate was formed in 1992 and they are considered one of the first emo bands. Also I'm not the huge fan of them, but its highly possible, that you will end up crying, when you listen their whole album at once :D

  • @mangaista I highly doubt that Dir en grey were listening to "Sunny Day Real Estate" or "Rites of Spring" for that matter in 1997. Kuroyume? Yes, certainly. However, the band has come out themselves saying that they despise labels and don't appreciate having their music labeled. I don't think that you can label their music easily because it's way too diverse in style.

  • @evillurkswithinusall "Besides, the generic term known as Emo nowadays wasn't even around when this band formed in 1997, fuckheads." thats the only part of your post, that I refer to.

  • @evillurkswithinusall

Wrong, It originated in the 80s...Sorry

  • @twiztidlestat no, La;sadies formed in the 80s, Dir en grey fromed in february of 1997.

  • @GerardXDarkXKaulitz not so La Sadies was only around for a year or so before they became Dir en grey they would not have been old enough in the 80's lol

  • @cat0nines4 oh shit sorry yes that is true XD lol sorry got a bit mixed up for how long la sadies was out but, im deffinitly positive on dir en grey not fromed til 97 ^-^

  • @GerardXDarkXKaulitz

no the 80s. They got back together in 97

  • @GrayxMoth actually technically speaking Dir En Grey formed in the 80's before they were La:Sadie's which had all the members of DEG in it, but Kyo also only did backup vocals in La:Sadie's
