I know this all seems mega lame and dork-acus to you all now. But having 8-bit characters you know and love suddenly as a Saturday morning cartoon, it was pretty awesome at the time since video games weren't widely accepted and few people cared about it. Yet there's also those who wanted to market it and didn't care about making it right, the plot, or how things looked (Super Mario Bros movie for example)
