  • Wow! Very cool!! Fantastic performance, that looks quite challenging.

  • Thank you! I'm planning to upload another, higher quality sound version of this piece (not this video) sometime soon. The panpipes are kind of challenging; they require a lot fo breath & that seems to put a lot of people off. In this video I do a fair amount of improvising, and that allows me to be a little more daring in the performance. ;)

  • @Kamibambiraptor That is Awesome just found your channel

  • I just bought a very smaller version of that flute! Lol, Im trying to learn to play but am going kind of slowly :P. Good job!!!

  • Glad you liked the piece! Best of luck with learning to play; going slowly is good. :)

  • are the reeds aranged in half or whole intervals? Nice panpipe.

  • It's actually in a major scale. While pieces that change key a lot present a challenge on the panpipes, a lot of folk music and popular music fits nicely within the major scale, with a sharp or flat here and there.

The panpipes are very handsome looking; the maker flames the bamboo slightly, which gives it the mottled dark patches, but it also helps weed out the bad bamboo, as weak pieces will split.

  • i love this sound, and with the flute is really cool

  • Glad you liked it! :) I've recently (yesterday) posted a track with MUCH higher audio quality which includes this piece. YouTube won't seem to let me post the link here (argh!) though, so I'll try adding it to the video info.

  • beautiful....just beautiful

A number of years ago I used to edit & publish a small Neo-Pagan magazine & we exchanged with a magazine called "Diipetes" which was published in Greece (Hellas). It looked very scholarly, even though I couldn't understand most of it! I wonder if it's still around.

  • BEATIFUL!!!!

  • Beautiful....

  • Thank you! :)

I got to play this (and some other pagan songs) underneath the dome of the legislature here, where the echoes are very enchanting. Winnipeg (where I live) is almost in the center of North America, so I had fun imagining the 'vibes' radiating outward over the continent. B-)

  • This is lovely!

  • Thank you! :)
