After about 12 Bud's my Dad used to beat the shit out of me for no reason. Put me in the hospital a couple of times. Funny, I don't remember much time at the beach.
That ad featured the lost art of persuasion - something that today's 'edgy' ads lack. For example, I don't care for Bud - but actually feel like having one.
Love how you needed a can opener to crack one open!
I don't know what they did to this beer but it sure doesn't taste like it used to 30 years back. Most of these commercial brands have a crappy taste now. Imported is much better. i think i'll stick to Bourbon and Scotch these days.
Swing it Daddy, Swing it!! Like the mostest!!Oh amber and foamy hostess!! Like cool, Hip, and gone, GONE!! Coffee house beatnik pork-pie hat wearing, bongo slappin', and cool, REAL cool!! DIG?!
I always associate Budweiser with my late father (although I can't stand the taste of bud) he would work hard all week and on the weekends he would drink almost non-stop. One time I woke up on a Sunday morning and my dad had made a tall, almost castle like stack of "empty" Bud cans on the kitchen table.
to fondeled: LOL....he lived to be 83 and worked till he was 70......in his lifetime he was a WW2 Captain, Banker & then College professor w/ a PHD......when he died he owned a house worth 1 million dollars and had $450,000 "cash" in the bank....oh yeh, he was a diasbled vetran too..........I guess the BUD did him no harm. RIP dad.
@dotsona07 The Americas are two Separate land masses, Do mean, North or south America? Or maybe you meant to say, The united States of America? Please stay in school kids.
@CoolConejo - It is in reference to the United States, which is implied due to the subject matter in the video...I do know the difference smart ass :D

The female model is the one and only Joan Kemp. She was a very popular ad model in the fifties and sixties.

And drinking a Bud is like hearing a bad flute solo, so we can't accuse them of false advertising.

Perfect pouring of beer into that glass. I wonder how many "takes" that took to not get the foam to spill over the rim?

Yes, those are the lyrics to the famous "Bud" jingle in 1956-'57, 'dandy'; The Crew Cuts also recorded a radio transcription of it at the time...

Where there's life, there's Bud
At a concert or a show
Where the bright sun shines or wherever you go,
Budweiser beer is for folks who know
Where there's life, there's Bud,
Bud-weiser!

Good commercial. I'm surprised it was socially acceptable for women to drink beer back then.
needles1987 4 years ago 3
@needles1987 Women hav the right to drink and smoke in public since the 1920's and privately always.
halcaannen 1 year ago
@halcaannen I was specifically talking about women drinking beer.
