A great man who gave all that God gave him because his God expected him to show up empty-handed when He called him, Rest, Joe-pa; we'll catch up with you, later and...do please, pray for us.
This story is as big as Jackie Robinson and magic Johnson and cassius clay in it's place in sports history....a man who was look upon as dirty in western Pennsylvania and respected throughout the nation comes crashing down in the worst failure of a system to protect it's youth ever....
Dont get my words twisted. I agree, the man is amzing, but this would be a great year to step down and leave on top...like he deserves. Part of the reason we lost some of the recruits we did is in part due to their uncertainty of whether or not he will be there or not. Im a premium member on recruiting services and can tell you that this is true. The man is a stalwart, but at that age you just never know. I understand what youre saying, but I'd appreciate you not calling out my fanhood. Thanks.
Im sorry, but as a fan, he should step down. His health does not allow him to be able to say with certainty to recruits that he will be there for their 4 years. Also, 2008 is Joe's last great team. This would be a great year to go out on top and have him get the proper send-off.
Oh yeah? Recruiters from other teams, sportswriters, and guys like you have been saying this garbage for 20 years. He's won the Big Ten twice in 3 years, he's 3-0 in bowl games, and going to his 2nd BCS bowl game in 3 years. So where is your evidence things are getting worse? He turned this team around from losing in the early 2000's, and this group of seniors came to Penn State to make it happen when things weren't looking so good. With your crummy attitude, the LAST thing you are is a PSU fan!
Joe is an amazing legend! God Bless him in his recovery from hip replacement. There is no doubt in my mind that he WILL run out of that tunnel in the fall of 2009!!! Love ya Joe!!
The song is "The Story" by Brandi Carlile, a great singer/songwriter out of Washington. Check out her videos here on YouTube. She's great. Oh, and guess what? She's a lesbian! What a wonderful step for gays everywhere - breaking into one of the most homophobic institutions in American, college football! Go Brandi!
He is the best coach ive ever seen on the gridiron. Doubt him all you want, just because he is 81 years old doesnt mean he cant coach. He teaches his players discipline, if you think that riot was cause of him, it was the ENTIRE campus, students get out of hand but it called being young. He gives us reasons to believe and to dream of that national title.

That senile old coot should hang 'em up and give someone else a chance to coach Penn State, he has no control over the program discipline and his assistants have done all the work to put this year's team in good position.
First off great video but did i miss something is joe dead? thats what this seems like a momorial tribute more than anything. Either way OHHHHH OHHHHHH LETS GO STATE
My God...I've been a Penn State fan since 1978 when they had Chuck Fusina and Matt Suhey. I still get choked up watching this. I truly hope "The Story" has a happy ending...
Because after all, WE BELIEVE!....WE ARE PENN STATE!
Joe Pa is letting us all know that WE are Penn State- Penn State can and WILL go on with out him. But my heart will be broken nonetheless. We are all blessed to have watched and learned many lessons from the best there ever was.
We are so fortunate. This transcends football. It's family. We graduates are all part of a very special family. We are watching a story that started in 1950 and is perhaps about to reach a conclusion. Success with honor.

congrats on your win last night, PSU played the better game and made less mistakes, but to say this year is "success with honor" is simply misguided. the facts speak for themselves and to hold on to the idea that the events of this year are not a stain on the program is just wrong.
I appreciate your congratulations, but I've got to disagree with your statement about honor. Sure there have been some disciplinary issues with a few players this year and Paterno handled each one of them fairly and some say even stronger than other programs would have. It would have been DISHONORABLE to play those offenders regardless of their actions like some other D I-A teams have done. All our teams have players who make mistakes, how they handle them depends on whether you play with honor.
Go get em' Joe!Perfect song, for the perfect gentleman and classiest coach, that ever walked the sidelines! Proud to say I live in State College. Greatest Show in College Football! Love Ya Lions!! We Believe! Go State! Thanks for posting this!
