The only model 8008 (the deluxe version of 8000 after about 1978) I'd touch would be a 1982 or later model (new CPSC-compliant motor switch). Also, I'd go after the 8018 (the 8008's replacement) with its flip-over handle (another model with the permanent-magnet motor).
On all the cordless electric rear-baggers, yes. Something involving the safety key.
Remember the old model 8055 twin-motor, twin-blade rear-bagger cordless electric (a corded version was also available under model 8035)? That too had been recalled, and B&D is trying to recover every known example of it. Sales spanned the years 1976 to 1979.
