hello , first turn on ignition , turn on fuel so top of tap is pointing backwards , then move gear lever to start towards the S on the top of gear box , hope that helps
I've recently inherited a T20, but have no idea how to start it. Would someone mind running me through it? I know it works as I've seen it driving fairly recently
awesome looking tractor. My dad just bought two of these we are going to use them for minor paddock work but also fix them up in the process. Your tractor is certainly an inspiration :)
What`s the manifold on that T20?Vapourizer?I`m looking for a good used petrol manifold to revert my 1949 fergie to petrol. It`s currently fitted with a perfectly servicable Loddon conversion manifold with 3 brass head gaskets for paraffin running. But for ease of use I want to revert her back to petrol.
The knocking sound is the tappets and the cap on top of the exhaust pipe , if you look you can see I put some rag round it to try stop it tapping, the other thing to note , ive got the tickover very slow , turn your own tractors down as far as it will go and watch what happens
Congratulations on a superb rebuild; it looks as good as new, with the tyres that haven't seen any serious work - yet! My late grandfather used to have the agency for these, and he could tell a few stories about farmers and their tractors! There was one individual who didn't believe in "wasting" his money on fresh oil for the tractor, and used to transfer the black treacle that came out of his car at oil change time, straight into the Fergie. Aaarrrrgh!!
got the same model to renovate, runs well buts needs total clean and paint job, question, there is no oil showing on the dipstick / right footplate for back axle and gearbox, what is the recommended oil ?
Hello mate, the bonnet was hand sanded , it took hours,2 coats of red oxide, which you leve for a week to fully harden, rub that back with fine wet and dry, then put on a good first coat of vintage grey you dont need undercoat because the oxide is a primer, and leve for a couple of days and then rub that back then recoat and rud back again, then add a bit more thinners to the vintage grey to give a shinney top coat, and leve for a week or so to fully harden, then cut and polish, have fun mate
Great job! Im doing up a 1954 one of these at the minute! Trying to find the correct colour for it.Its a TEF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@11inchforever if theres no key ignition then there should be a push button used as a starter. if theres neither you can crank them from the front

What a fantastic bit of kit. I know nothing about tractors, but I do know good engineering when i see it. Looks superb. Is it Coventry built?
