  • Spotted a rummy nose tetra amongst the cardinals. XD

  • nice tank.do you use co2?

  • lol I just read some of the comments and that answered my questions.

  • that is so cool looking

  • Wow i wish my aquarium can be like this...And i love that cardinal tetras, its my favourite fish.. :)

  • is ur substrate a spacific sub for plants and also do u kkow if plants can grown in an all gravel substrate

    p.s ur tank is fonomanal

  • all them bubbles from the plants, wow thats just about as natural as it gets, im jealous now lol great job

  • @gazza3112 Thanks, I'm quite proud

  • Thanks Squ1shDaBug, Its called hair grass. (Deschampsia cespitosa)

  • @inomac How do you SIPHON OUT that tank???

  • :o thats just a killer tank dude....um what plant is that over the substrate? (that looks like grass)I love the tetras they just look well with those plants.

  • yep cardinals r definatley far betterlooking than neons but alot harder to keep - they will not tolerate nitrates and are very sensitive to changes in water temp - a mix of the two makes a lovley school aswell!

  • @cuzurdumb123 I prefer cardinals, they have more color and just look better.

  • Amazing tank. I'm trying to do similar in a 40 and a 10 once I get my led's built. Something to work towards (for me) :)

What are the specs? (tank size, filter, light co2, ferts etc?)

    Thanks a bunch!

  • @krap101 Hi, the tank is a 60 gallon with over 3 watts per gallon of lighting via t5's, I'm using a 10 pound c02 cylinder with a ADA Pollen Glass distributor, the filter is a fluval, I use a basic fertilizer, and the water is RO.

  • @inomac Very nice indeed

  • my dream tank...

  • Where's all of the bubbles coming from?

  • @XpianoxboyX Its oxygen thats being produced by the plants. :)

  • @inomac damn that much?? its healthy but how is that possible???

  • discus are schooling fish dude. u need to add a few more so it doesnt get to stressed out. you also need to be doing a 40-50% water change about twice a week. good lookin tank tho

  • @ryan12381793 I know quite a bit about Discus fish "dude", this one was removed from a tank where he was at the bottom and of the pecking order. He's now alone but very happy and eating very well, sometimes rite out of my hands.

As for water changes, 50% twice a week for one discus is overkill. Thanks any way tho.

  • @inomac i know a good deal about discus as well although i have never kept any. i have been in the hobby for a number of years and worked for an aquarium and fish store that specializes in tropical freshwater fish as well as saltwater fish and corals. I'm glad to hear that the discus was in there for a legit reason not just an inexperienced hobbyist buying one on impulse w/o researching how to take care of it. I.M.E. a 40-50% wc every 4-5 days is doable, just have to have lots of bio-filtration.

  • @ryan12381793 "I Know a good deal about discus as well although I have never kept any..." Then you don't know everything. 50% w/c twice a week is absurd, changing 100% of the aquarium water every week is unecessary and will put any inhabitant, let alone Discus, under stress. Consistent good conditions are paramount to keeping Discus. I know a bit about Discus, I keep them...

  • @spittingfeathers1 i never said i knew everything. Good job looking like a dick though by arguing with an 18 year old over a comment posted 7 months ago. have fun with your fish.

  • @ryan12381793 No argument. There is a big difference between theory and experience with these fish, I've learnt the hard way! But 100% w/c a week is just too much. Thanks I will do, if you have a tank same to you.

  • @spittingfeathers1 sorry for being an asshole. lack of sleep has made me a class-A douche bag.. I totally understand that there is a big difference between theory and experience. This hobby is so variable that you go with what works with you, not what people tell you because of differences in water parameters, temps, gh, kh, bio-load, filtration, dissolved organics ect ect...

I have a tendency to act like a cocky know-it-all when it comes to my hobbies. Truth is, i don't have tons of experience

  • War kind of grass?????

  • Do you have to use co2 to have grass like that?? And how expensive is it !

  • wow..so pretty At first I thought the bubbles were from the strong currents. Now I see its pearling from the plants. You have to teach me how to set up a tank like this

  • awesome tank ... very inspiring.

how's it doing now? ... can you post a video update

  • @dclx5i Thanks, the tanks doing great. when I have the time Il post a new vid.

  • how many gallons is it? also, do you clean the sub straight?

  • @iceeblueboy its the same tank as the "amano vs cardinal vs rummy" after 4 months of growth. its 60 gallons, and I just vacuum the grass, I can really see the sub any more.

  • nice

  • beautiful

  • for your hair grass, do you use CO2 injections?

    beautiful tank btw.

  • @cardcityrocker Thanks cardcityrocker, yes I have a10 lb co2 tank with a ADA diffuser.

  • does dwarf hairgrass require alot of light?

  • @h2opolo131 Hi, I Have over 3 watts per gallon in my aquarium and it does well, im not sure how it would do with less. it mite tend to grow tall with less light.

  • amazing aquarium!!

where did you get the rocks?

  • Thanks vietpride4444, I got it from ADA (aqua disign amano), its called manten stone. Very beautiful but very expensive.

  • @inomac Thank you :]

may i ask if that is that dwarf hairgrass?

  • Yup, its dwarf hairgrass, with patch's of glossostigma.

    Good Eye!

  • What kind of CO2, pressurized, and what brand?

  • Its a generic 10 pound cylinder with a needle valve and a ADA distributor.

  • whoa! those soo nice tank!!

    i tried find the discus!!

  • wow are you a bucket jocky though?

  • lol not realy GladiatorShield, its a 25% water change a week.

  • @inomac Good luck with yooure fish

  • EPIC AQUARIUM!!!!!!!

  • I love the lone Rummy Nose tetra lol

  • what you use to keep that plants? substrate & CO2 ??

    very beautiful aqua

  • Thanks PedroAntunes24,

The substrate is Eco Complete from Carib sea and there is co2 injection.

  • I love the natural look, really really nicee!!

  • Thanks very much CandiceM888.

  • WOO!!my cardinals have stopped dying! even tought i didnt do anythin.....check out my vids

  • oh yea, may i know what is the pH of your tank? coz i dont really know what are cardinals best pH..thx

  • My PH is about 7, the best PH for cardinals is about 6.5.

  • my aquarium isnt really that heavily planted...and my discus are about 2inch +...i have alot of species of fish because one species after another keep dying and my dad keeps buying different types of other fish...

  • hey could you help me on somethin? all my tetras keep dying, its like each night i buy some fish, the next day there will be missing about 3-4 fishes.mostly my cardinals & harlequins..i have cardinal tetras, rummy nose tetras, harlequins, white cloud mountains, corydoras, discus, flying fox, congo tetra, black phantom tetra, bleed heart tetra, platys, black scissors tails, lemon tetras, albino black neons and glowlight tetras, glowlight tetras in a 180 gallon tank with plants and driftwood..pls reply dis..thx

  • Hmm, its hard to tell with out seeing the tank, or having more information about the water parameters and filtration system. But that does seem like allot of fish even for a 180 gallon tank. It could be anything from a pollution problem, to the discus eating them, if its large enough.

  • its hairgrass!

how long did it take to grow this big and spread so nice?!?

  • About 4 months, after 10 months it got so thick I had to take it out and start over.

  • is there anything you can do to maintain the growth of the grass, rather than take it out? like adding snails or something

  • Actually I tried the snail idea but they tend to start eating the blades of grass from the middle, and the tops float to the surface, it makes a big mess... The only thing I haven't tried is a plant eating fish...

  • is there a neon fish in there?

  • No, all cardinals.

  • u shoul add 1 more discus... it will me better and beautiful if they swim together

  • WOW! the cardinals with the grass, uhhh, totally stunning dude...

  • Thank you very much

    chevq !

  • the grass looks really good, do you plant seeds or buy it already grown?

  • Its already grown, you can see the beginning on my other video, (Amano shrimp vs Cardinal tetra vs Rummy-nose tetra.) Its from the same point of vue.

  • what are you feeding them with?

  • Blood worms and brine shrimp.

  • i saw a rummy nose tetra! lol i have four of them in my tank, check out my updated fish vid please! rummy nose tetra make wonderful fish pets

  • Those cardinals are very impressive!!!!

  • Yes, I'm using a 10 pound c02 cylinder with a ADA Pollen Glass distributor. The plants are half Glossostigma and dwarf hairgrass.

  • is it easy to clean the tank with these Dwarf Hairgrass?

  • pressurized co2? what kind of carpet plant is that?

    0:19-0:20 beautiful movement.

  • Its Dwarf Hairgrass, and I just vacuum it like a carpet.

  • what size tank
