True, you already are silenece but you do have to realize that you are already and then it goes back to methods, I guess if you're thinking "i have to mantain silence as much as i can" most of the day then obviously you fail, but if you do one of the methods then you're not thinking, and when you're not thinking then you can't see silence as an object. Remember as long as you feel suffering (due to ego) then you havn't realized your true self.

I can appreciate that "silence" in this context, is the abandonment of all misconceptions, but to say that it is consciousness is wishful thinking. The non-separateness condition is a transcendental state and cannot be achieved by invoking sentiment. We deny the duality but the next moment it returns. The practice is then to keep denying it until it becomes, hopefully the transcendental reality. LOL.

He is only wise if you want to be like him, or experience what he claims to experience. If you are happy without being in his world, then he is not wise at all. What I don't like is the implied "instructions" that he gives, sort of like you should do this and you should not do that - perhaps just being a bit more impersonal and logical could make him a better speaker in my eyes.

You contradict your own reasoning - because to say "I am silence" also means that you are objectifying silence, the very mistake that you wished to avoid making. To break the foundational perception which is called "I" requires that you nullify it - the self is simply perceiving that "I" and "me" does not exist, and that it is just the "experience" and not the "motivation" (the mind). However all of this is still just another perception of the same reality - it really doesn't matter at all!
