  • Have to say that this one still stands as the favourite of mine of igenesis.Version, that makes honour for the original and in a way even beats its idol. This is amazing.

  • @Ambiator Thank you so much. Yes, I love this one too, I must admit, even though there is not much drumming :-)

We are mixing the In The Cage medley at the moment - I got the drums recorded last week, which I can tell you, is a weight off my mind!

  • @jouxplan As an humble participian for the cage I have to say that I´m also quite eager to hear and see what will come of that giant. I can believe, that your task was quite gargantuan with that piece...:)

  • This is so beautifully conceived and executed on every level. I am stunned to find this performance of such an evocative and haunting song. Thank you for this. It deserves to be seen and treasured by every Genesis fan.

  • @tmws1 Thank you so much! I understand that all four iGenesis videos were shown at a recent Genesis convention in the States, and the reaction from all present was absolute amazement and joy. We are immensely proud of what we are achieving with this project, and the response we have had makes all the hard work (and trust me, there is a LOT of work being done on these videos) worthwhile.

Please check out the iGenesis channel (link on my channel page) for the other videos.

    Vine out shortly :-)

  • I am...speechless. The last time I remember feeling such a sense of revelation as this, was the first time I heard The Alan Parsons Project's "Tales of Mystery and Imagination." You guys have just justified YouTube's existence as something more than just a repository for babbling idiots and talking dogs...A-MAZING. And to repeat the words of Oliver Twist: "Can I have some MORE, please, sir?"

  • @Survivor2002 Ha! Ha! This video had the same effect on me, and still does. I was blown away when I first saw it, and actually cried tears of joy. I am so glad and humbled that you found this video so special - thank you. And yes, we agree - YouTube has facilitated a beautiful thing here :-)

You can find more iGenesis videos at the iGenesis Channel - link on my channel or search for iGenesis. More being worked on right now - it is keeping Cyrus, Ron and I very busy!

  • I'm a fan of Tony a.k.a. troubleclef.. Now side by side with Cyrus..?? Wowww..

  • @janakajp1 Cyrus is indeed a very special person! He has talents in every department, and this video is exceptional.

I met him a few weeks ago in Canada (together with Ron) and I can report that he is without doubt one of my favourite people on the planet. I feel humbled to be his friend, and hugely proud to be his iGenesis drummer :-)

Glad you enjoyed this first video of ours - and hope you have seen the other iGenesis videos on the iGenesis Channel!

  • I am from California. I know how to play piano, I have 2 midi keyboards with midi software and any needed VST software, and I have a camera. I only know how to play stuff from the Lamb and before. But I can learn. Thank you. (I hope being 15 isn't a problem)

  • @paperpichu Hello, and thank you for asking about playing! Unfortunately, the two founding members of igenesis are (a) a drummer and (b) a keyboard player. So we are not looking for drummers or keyboard / piano players, because of course we want to play these instruments ourselves :-)

  • I am from southern nj, would love to play, be involved with playing genesis music.

  • Well DONE! I'm a closet genesis guitarist... if you're looking for another musician... I'd be happy to be involved...

  • @farminmike Many thanks!

We currently have two or three guitarists, but feel free to drop us a message telling us a little about yourself and we can take it from there :-)

  • @ianpeakable Thank you - and very true: we would never have known each other even existed :-)

  • @greggtheblue Ha! Ha! Cheers!

  • @MrJoeScarlett That's very kind of you. Under the circumstances (being that you are all going nuts about what we have done) we have created a dedicated iGenesis Channel, where we will upload all future vids. It might be an idea to subscribe to that also - I will probably upload via the Jouxplan site as well (so my subscribers get to know about it) but really you will get more info from the iGenesis Channel :-)

Firth Of Fifth = about two weeks time.

    Jouxplan

  • @SuperTubetraveller Wow! That is an amazing thing to say. Thank you :-)

  • @alphadogxxxx Ha! Ha! That is extremely kind of you! I only said it because on my channel I usually post videos that are very 'drummy', and I wanted to try and get across to my subscribers that this video is extremely special, and not to get hung up on the lack of show-off drums :-)

I very much hope to redress the balance in the next video - I think it is safe to say that Firth Of Fifth has a rather more involved drum part! Don't get me wrong though - I adore this Rooftops video!

  • @drcolinmalone But we name all the musicians at the end of the video!!!!! Anyway, he is Tony Clef, otherwise known as 'troubleclef' on YouTube. Check out his Channel.

    Many thanks!

  • This piece of work is just pure genius. The song performance is wonderful and the video is a work of art.

  • @barney1001b That is very high praise - and I agree with you about Cyrus' video! Thank you!

    Jouxplan

  • Music is what feelings sound like. This track is truly moving.

  • @TrueMotown That is a beautiful thing to say. Thank you.

    Jouxplan

  • In a word - SOPHISTICATED CLASS! (ok two words!)

  • @EddieX17 In another word - THANK YOU!

  • I adore every part of this piece. The music, the vocal and especially the video. Best wishes for all your future collaborations.

  • @HomeCustodians Thank you very much!

  • Ron's voice is a delight . I'd marry him tomorrow! Love to all of you - Olivia.

  • @OliviaGolding I'll make sure he see this! Thank you!

    Jouxplan

  • I wish I could think of something a bit more original to say, but I'l have to stick to -THIS IS MAGNIFICENT!l

  • @AceDiamondPoker Wow! That is an incredible thing to say. I will make sure Ron see's your comment! Thank you!

  • @toniaustinItalia That is very kind of you, thank you!

Firth of Fifth is a couple of weeks away I expect. Hope it lives up to your expectations!

Please subscribe to the new iGenesis Channel (link on my channel) where you can find updates on progress :-)

  • Hi Joux. I didn't know there was a dedicated website for iGenesis until I got to the end of one of the vids. Can I suggest you put a link in the description? More people need to know about these guys.

  • @ryaneldgridge Yup, agreed.

There is a link on my Channel now to the new iGenesis Channel. On the iGenesis Channel there is a link to the iGenesis website.

We are still building the website and the dedicated youTube Channel, so bear with us.

I guess we did not really anticipate the level of enthusiasm for our work :-) Then again, until I saw the video Cyrus produced, I myself had no idea how special iGenesis was going to be!

  • Having "stumbled" across this wonderful piece of music, I echo what you say about needing a channel for iGenesis. I've struggled to find info on them, so anything you can put up would be appreciated. Many thanks.

  • @albert1001a A dedicated iGenesis Channel is now up and running! Please visit / subscribe / enjoy!

Link is on my Cahnnel page, or else look for 'igenesis project' in YouTube search :-)

    Many thanks!

  • @SallyandRyan Certainly we are! If you saw the list Cyrus and I have drawn up, you would be salivating for weeks :-)

Firth Of Fifth (Seconds Out) is in final mixing stages. Hope to release in a week or two.

    Fly on Windshield is close.

In The Cage Medley (86) has been recorded on drums and keys. Vocals done for quite a few others.

One For Vine (Three Sides Live) is being recorded over next month.

Cyrus and I are having great fun - and have no intention of stopping now :-)

  • @charliecarter01 Ron Belgard. He's great, isn't he?! Funny thing is that until I was given the final video to upload, by Cyrus, I had not heard him. Like all of you, I wept tears of joy when I played the vid for the first time. I think Ron's singing is sublime - and I emailed him to tell him so :-)

These comments are making me realise we need a dedicated YouTube Channel for iGenesis, so we can provide more info about band / musicians / vids. Watch this space, I'll set one up in next few days.

  • @sophiemelbourne Absolutely! Without YouTube iGenesis would never have happened. I am incredibly proud to be a part of this band, and it is wonderful seeing all these other guys, from across the globe, coming forward and asking to be in the band.

'skilled musicians' - that is very kind of you. I am humbled, as I am sure the rest of the guys are :-)

  • @charliecarter01 Ron Belgard

  • Amazing

  • Every aspect of this just shouts QUALITY! The song, vocal, instrumentals, and video are Outstanding. Well done.

  • @FairTradePetProducts That is very high praise indeed, my friend! Thank you!

  • @Tangent718 What a beautiful comment! Thank you so much!

I can report that Firth Of Fifth (Seconds Out version) is getting close to completion - most tracks are now recorded. Watch this space!

  • This is so beautifully performed, and the sublime video does it justice. Wonderful. Thanks!

  • @mickyvelddt Thank you very much my friend! That is very kind of you :-)

I think we all agree that the video itself is as much a 'star' as the music/musicians - Cyrus has done a breath-taking job here, and frankly, I am as excited about it as you all are!

  • Friends:

I think today is a tribute to one who has hung up his drumsticks and has unfortunately subjected to a medico-clinical life that is destroying his vocation and passion of life. I mean Phil Collins. Sorry to know they are health reasons that motivate them to take such a decision and not his own will, had been, would never have done. Thanks Phil

  • I love this, you and the rest are very talented love the work, wonderfully done

  • @vaguitar That's very kind of you, thank you :-)

  • is the singer using a pitch correction?

  • @masternate61 The raw files he sent us did not appear to be processed, but I was not there when he recorded it.

  • hey great work, very fine job, congratulations for you and greetings from Chile

  • @renatomoya Thank you!

  • Just brilliant!!! I loved this clip!! Blood on the Rooftops is one of my all-time fav Genesis songs and you just made a perfect interpretation. Congratz :)) I'd love to make some guitar parts for you but Steve Hackett parts are way above my skills lol! Can't wait for another one. Take care

  • @Steedonline Hey, thank you - that is high praise! Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I am hoping to record the drums for Firth Of Fifth this weekend, and as a result of this 'Blood' video, Cyrus is now receiving several requests from bass players and guitarists - about time too, if you ask me!!! The drums are already recorded for the Cage Medley and also Fly.

Hopefully a new video will be along soon :-)

  • Alex - I read about your plans to do such a project some time ago now and couldn't wait to see it done! And now, here it is! =) And don't keep us waiting too long for the next pieces, mate! Great work..

  • @Plociu Glad the wait was worth it!

We are busy working on an In The Cage Medley, Fly On A Windshield and Firth Of Fifth - all at various stages of recording and production. Finding guitarists and bass players has been a nightmare though :-)

Hopefully you will not have to wait too long now!

  • good work

  • Great Vid i am a massive Genesis fan particularly the era up to Wind and Wuthering I have recently startes playing drums inspired by Phil Collins' amazing drumming

    Keep up the good work

  • Such a nice Version, But what we still need are Fans for this. So maybe we should try to contact Martin levac or so. he can do the Vocals.

Look, we should do an IGenesis Video with Suppers Ready, Dukes Travels,Tonight³,The Day the light went out, Say its alright Joe(This would be great),Fading Lights, Fontain of Salmacis or Dancing with the Moonlit Knight.

I would like to help, But I cant Sing or play Guitar. Well I can try to sing playback for Say its Alright joe, But I dont have a beard :(

  • @illegalalien2 I'm glad you like the video but I disagree with you about 'the need for fans' and contacting Martin Levac :-)

igenesis is not about trying to create a huge fan base - it never has been. Cyrus and I simply wanted to have some fun and see what we could produce with other like-minded musicians. So we would never attempt to get someone like Martin Levac in the band - that would miss the point entirely!

I love what we did here. If we have some fans, great - if not, I really don't care!

  • Fantastic, very, very good.

  • Just absolutely mindblowing!!! Fantastic vid presentation.

To whomever voted the 1 thumbs down on this - you haven't got a clue!!!!

    -TG

  • @ttomsdw Thank you very much!

  • this can't help but make you smile

  • braviiii!!!

  • @tillerman1: Do you play the bass? I just did the bass on the keys on this one since it was such a subtle line, but we can use someone in the future.

  • Does this need a bass?

  • Just seen this for the first time. Wow! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Good mixing and well put together - for people in different parts of the world you all edited in well.

Let's hope this is the start of a new group on YouTube. I will certainly tune in again.

Cheers (again) Jouxplan for another excellent video.

  • @krisfrench Thank you very much! Cyrus must take all the credit for the editing and mixing and things - he is a quiet genius :-)

iGenesis is indeed a new YouTube group, in fact a new cyberspace group. Check out our website. More videos are on the way - Cyrus and I have already recorded an In The Cage Medley and Fly On A Windshield. We are waiting for guitarists! Firth of Fifth is planned for near future too.

  • Nice work! Enjoyed it very much.

  • Well done!!

  • Oh, man. Tears of delight. I was cheering, clapping, laughing and crying. That was profound. You even got Karl Malden in it. :D:D:D I'm putting this on auto-play on my channel page. Fan frickin tastic job.

  • @troubleclef Well said, my friend! Cyrus has created something very special with this video :-)

  • Great stuff jouxplan! I have to confess I only know you from your drums on one video but it was enough to make me instantly subscribe :-)

I think 'virtual' bands are a great. If you ever get time to add some some drums to my/dubmanic's take on Wing's song 'Every Night' that would be amazing. I started with a basic (needs work!) accousic guitar part and dubmaniac added the bass and vocals. You can see my original bit on my channel and Dub's response adding the bass/vocals.

  • *goosebumps*... very well done!

  • You got troubleclef on this??? Awesome!!!

  • @mike584 Indeed!

  • Wow! Fabulously well put together! Well done to all concerned. All the way through, I thought that was the well-known Phil Collins tribute Martin Levac.

  • @mikebull1972 Thank you! Ron is indeed an awesome, awesome singer. And Cyrus has put together a truly wonderful video. I am really proud of what has been achieved here :-)

  • love it .the video is great .the songs superb.i await further tracks in the future
