i agree our personality is based on biology its over but consciousness is not produce by the brain its pure energy and so are emotion thoughts and all of our physical sensory abilities everything has a source even experiencing has its source whatever that is!
I like this caller. Hes actually trying to get extra information. Yeah he was swayed a little bit by his experiences and the stories, but he still retained skepticism.
@beyallluv i thought you werent meant to be so egotistic and proud if you're religious, where's the humility immortal? also where's your compassion and love, you seem to be delighting a bit much in other peoples' mortality
hey at the end of the day you cant say yay or nay on life after death. the truth is you dont know. you can speculate but wont know till you get there. me personally i believe the ancient texts when it says that man cannot die. please dont confuse me as religious but i leave room for doubt cause we dont know everything.
this is the only thing i dont agree with athiests on there is really no such thing as death cause everything is life. it has been proven by science that conciousness is the underlying force behind matter so how can anything die? the atom smasher proves this. i also refuse to just make myself out to be just a flesh and blood animal. man has "senses" and superpowers within.
@TheAtheistExperience what I think he initially tried to convey there until the end is that when you die, only your consciousness disappears, your body goes on existing, and remains part of the universe. But yes, toss aside his "superman" mumbo jumbo.
@beyallluv lolol Conciousness dies with the brain, nothing is concious without the magically organ brain, that is why plants are not concious and why humans once brain dead are no longer concious in any remote sense what so ever
Smell is a chemical reaction, touch is nervous sytem, sight is eyes(converting analog thing into something the brain will detect) and their conection to brain, taste again is chemical, hearing is vibrations(again same to eyes)
@beyallluv Refuse to believe, first off, does not mean you are right just because you want.
Man does have senses. Sense that ever other animal has in one way shape or form. And many times, better. Owls and octopi have better eyesight. Dogs have a better sense of smell. And then there are animals that have senses we don't, such as echolocation. Does a bat have 'more' of a soul simply because it has one more sense than we do?
@beyallluv Actually the concept of an afterlife is scientifically refutable, since every sense, subjectivity and consciousness is attributed to your brain and when the brain dies during death, the consciousness dies with it.
@beyallluv no offence mate, but you're a crackpot at it's finest. not everything is conscious... i.e a rock is a lump of mostly composite carbon and whatever other mineral it contains, it does not think, it does not feel it does not live nor die.
as far as energy is concerned, yes energy is only transferred and is not lost, but our chemical, gpe, and various energies just get given to other things mainly chemical form.
When people say that there is nothing after we die, they don't mean darkness. It means that your consciousness will cease to exist just like before you were born it didn't exist.
Well, electrons and ions are some of the things that power us, and they are energy and they do have a weight. Obviously it's almost fucking insignificant, but still. I call bullshit on that website that says people lose weight immediately after dying.
@publiusdg electrons don't move into and out of things, and have weight and change weight as they do this. For example, AC = alternating current, which is more or less the electrons moving back and forth. This back and forth movement is the energy, not the electrons themselves. Energy is vibrational movement not mass moving, even though mass moving is kinetic energy but not the energy you are talking about. It's not like water rushing down a river. Irrelevant but interesting to note though.
@matthewdoucette Yeah, water rushing down a river is DC. That's actually one of the most commonly used analogies in basic physics courses. Anyway, electrons do indeed move into and out of things, and have mass. The property of having mass, of course, means that they have an energy equivalence. Also interesting to note is that our bodies have intrinsic potential energy by the merit of the atoms' organization into macromolecules. You should understand energy better.
i was into 40 seconds in the video and needed to answer the guy's question.
We are essentially made up of energy, and that energy is transferred, but only into the soil and the organism that decompose our body. You cannot say "well we have a conscience and a soul," they do not fall under the category as something that posses energy, since it is only the fabrication of our cognitive brain.
yeah i was in a bad accident a few years ago...and i did see the light that everyone talks about, when i opened my eye and saw the bright ass fucking lights they have in the ambulances...then passes back out
The only atheist I could take completely seriously would be one who has taken DMT, and salvia divinorum extracts more than once. No one I know of that has ever taken plant entheogens can stay an atheist. I would love to dose these intelligent atheists(If you read this, pm me, I'll mail you salvia if it's legal in your state.) and talk to them when they got back.
@01greenbud A good friend of mine has taken DMT before quite a few times and he denies the existence of God. All it does is cause chemical reactions that alter the senses. All he experienced were hallucinations. He's also had a near death experience before and said the sensation was similar. They're just chemical imbalances causing hallucinations. Also, none of his hallucinations were godly. There was no sign of god at all.
@JamesHLanier DMT is not a drug, it's a neurotransmitter produced in the pineal gland. All mammals, some lizards, and plants have it. I'm not saying there is a god, I'm saying consciousness can exist separate from the body.
@JamesHLanier You can get the information on line to extract dmt from plants, and buy the plants legally. Your view of reality will change and your definition of hallucination might too.
@onetime233 drugs is too broad of a word to really have a specific meaning. The drugs are bad argument against entheogens is too weak of an argument to even reply to.
This is the first caller I've heard who sounds like a nice person lol. The others are just illogical religious assholes with minds that can't even comprehend kindergarten logic
My brother, that called himself atheist, said the same thing to me prior to becoming an evangelical christian, how childish, well I guess there's people who will never grow up and embrace the end.
It's a shame how people try getting us all happy about an afterlife that really isn't there and when they relize it really isn't (if they ever figure it out) they feel sad. It's like when your parents tell you there is no santa.
@frackcha hi there! Thanks, I will check that out, I've used a lot of tissues during my deconversion, not from being sad and losing a false belief, but sad from the way I put people into categories based on whether they were Christian or not. I feel I should apologise to all humanity for not waking up sooner, but to be honest, it has been hard to learn to think for myself. I am far better off now, and don't worry anymore about friends and family burning in hell. Take care my friend
You just wasted your time. As everyone who posts these videos. THINKING they will ever have evidence to prove GOD is not real. Well protons and neutrons hold together by an invisible force. And the argument that we are created is simple. Nothing ON EARTH we can SEE creates an EARTH a SUN or a MOON. so something we cant see had to have created it. And if it didnt create it. It still is something we cant see. But it had to exist or we wouldnt be here. Case closed.
It's impossible to imagine having no consciousness because you wouldn't have a consciousness to think about it. I fear death entirely. I absolutely hate it when dying people act so chill with just disappearing. D:
Since the speed of light squared is massive, any energy divided by it is very neglectable, but it does exist. This is the reason why nothing can escape a black hole, because even energy or light has mass and can therefore be effected by gravity. This really doesn't relate to the topic of the video, but since you asked, there you go. =]
@TheAtheistExperience Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. There is no teachings of an afterlife in the bible. I love you all brethren. Peace be with you.
Physics, Conservation of energy- All the energy in our bodies will eventually leave by way of conduction, radiation or mass transfer and end up as heat or light energy. Energy is a conserved physical quantity but consciousness, memory, thought patterns, personality, skills, knowledge are all intangible, non-physical things. They are not conserved. In other words, they *can* indeed be created and destroyed. Cognitive processes require energy to take place, but energy is not consciousness.
@jayleeds2006 Haha, love you brother. This is what Jesus taught "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" There is no mention in the scriptures of an after life, only of a prepared place for us.

Dealing with the idea of death is unpleasant in the extreme. Some people learn to accept it with grace, others (myself) hate it and would do anything to avoid it (but realize it's not going to happen :P), some apparently just make up an afterlife to bypass it.
The third doesn't seem very intellectually honest.
If no afterlife frightens you, then try finding out that every atom that is currently a part of your body was not a part of you when you were born. We are constantly shedding and gaining atoms.
@drche420 Haha, love you brother. This is what Jesus taught "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. This caller gives one of the most honest reasons why people believe in god. They're afraid of what happens after death. That's perfectly understandable, as I'm an atheist and I'm unnerved by the idea of death. Of course, that fear doesn't make the idea that Jesus rose from the dead to save me any more likely.
I like this show, but the statement that we have no evidence of ghosts and such as that is just not true, the denial of the evidence for ghosts and the supernatural is just as bad as throwing a fit when someone is told god doesn't exist.
@SlashDotDash121 EVERYWHERE. There is a thing called the internet, you can look shit up on there and find all kinds of information. Anyone with half a brain can find credible evidence discovered even under scientifically controlled situations. Aliens, that's an easy one, of course there are aliens, it's harder to say regarding them being in our neck of the woods, I'd say the evidence is neck and neck with contact with spiritual beings and aliens as far as credibility.
@ElectricEntertaiment There is no scencetific evidence for ghosts... If someone had conclusive proof the would a Noble Prize, not only that, that would imply some sort of afterlife... The is no proof... End of....
As for ET life... I strongly expect there is some life out there... But again, there is no solid evidence for it... I for one would love to to see contact in my lifetime... But all the "evidence" I have looked into for the past 4 years is still not 100% proof...
@SlashDotDash121 Haha, love you brother. This is what Jesus taught "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. @yuothineyesasian I'm not your information getter, its out there everywhere, I've experienced it myself personally as well and I could not explain it with modern science afterward. If you really wanted to find the evidence you could just open your eyes it's becoming very popular these days on both tv and the internet.
I find it interesting that there are so many people who give so much credence to 'near death experiences.' How do you justify believing the interpretation of a brain when it's arguably at it's weakest point (getting the least amount of oxygen/blood/etc)?
Also, the Mark Twain quote of "I was dead for more than a billion years before I was alive, and I wasn't troubled by it one bit" is probably one of my favorite ideas regarding death. I think you can find real comfort in that idea.
@jesses001 hi there. Thank you for the message, I really like the saying about not being dealt a great hand doesn't mean you can't play. That really helped. Thank you, and to everyone who has left comments for me. Life is hard, but it's always worth playing :)
Do people not understand that people who have near death experiences actually aren't dead? Their brains have not died yet. Death is final, so you can't say that what you see in a near death experience is what happens after death. It's just bogus. Many things people see during these events are the multiple reactions of the brain when lacking oxygen etc. There may be an after-life, who knows, but near-death experiences do not tell the tale, in my honest opinion.
@Faerlon123 cant speak for others but I do yes- I had a near death experience when i was younger, many years ago-my heart stopped, as did my pulse and obviously my breathing but according to the doctors and the monitors my brain activity did not- and my heart was started again before serious oxygen deprivation. There was no 'outer body' stuff or tunnel vision for me. After all that- I still dont believe in an after life and know that you are absolutely right!
@Faerlon123 Haha, yeah true. I love you brother. Perhaps we need to ask the question what is resurrection? For it to take place one must die first this means that ones body and mind is dead. If you heart stops beating you are dead and your organs no longer function, scientific studies show that your brain is dead and has completely stopped functioning as soon as your heart stop beating biologically dead. Anyone how has been revived after the heart has stopped beating has been resurrected.
@Faerlon123 How is it possible for these people to then have an experience if their brain is dead? What is left alive in the body that can experience anything? It can not be anything physical because you are dead. It has to be supernatural. People that have not really died do not have these experiences. You are correct. It is the dead that experience the super natural. I hope this is helpful. Love you brother. Peace be with you.
The whole light at the end of the tunnel thing is most likely something the brain does (in my own opinion) to relieve the stress of death. Another point, is that people experience similar "tunnel" images when under the use of halucinagenic drugs such as LSD.
On my twentieth birthday I got blind drunk and was found choking on my own vomit I was taken the hospital and was hooked up to a medical ventilator so that my lungs would start again and was dead for possibly two minutes.
There no light or anything paranormal and the only feeling I had when I came to was a splitting headache and a king bastard of a hangover.
@jackflash341 I had a near death experience too & mine was pretty typical of the bright light, feelings of letting go etc. It was actually quite nice but I got no feeling that it was supernatural at all. I also wasn't drunk or on anything. I think it was just a hallucinating brain starving for oxygen. Maybe the alcohol prevented it in you. Who knows for sure. All I know is the start of it felt exactly like getting dizzy & passing out & I felt no religious or supernatural things at all.
@rossmetacraft hi there. Thank you very much. It is hard learning to think for oneself, I had read books by lee strobel and thought he must be honest as he was a Christian, but I just felt that the science in his book was wrong, so I kept investigating, and i realised people like that are lying. Thanks to the support of friends here I am now at university and living this life is great. Take care my friend
You are not the matter, or the energy, composing the body you think is yours. You are the panther and structure formed by that matter. The matter don't die, dissipate or go to heaven, it only change structure. When that structure change too much you cease to exist. Being dead is exactly like before you existed. Which is noting to be overly concerned about.
Energy is not distroyed when people die. Human beings don't have inherent energy and we don't "create" energy.. We must take in food (energy) to produce other types of energy (heat, fat, etc,), If we don't eat, we die and transform no energy at all. When we die, the energy we accumulated from eating, breaks down into the substituent matter that the food energy produced. Energy to matter, matter to energy. It is conserved, and it all comes from the sun.
Check out my videos "Religion is Ridiculous" (specifically Christianity)....Good stuff, rate it! Christians I CHALLENGE you to watch with an open mind. Atheists watch the vids and give them a thumbs up! Help spread the truth!!
It's just a pain that it's hard to let go of beliefs that were held over generations and the belief shaped culture. Death is uncomfortable wether you are religious or not. It's just some people decided to not accept the concept of nothingness. Humans can never know what nothingness is like because we only know being alive and sensing things. We all need to reframe the way we think about death. See it as part of life or not fear ceasing to exist.
You saw nothing while you were dead... those 20 mins are empty. But just as with dreaming while you sleep, 8 hours can pass and you wake up feeling like it was 5 minutes. You cannot account for that time you don't have a recollection of. You were living, unconscious but not quite to your dream state... with death, you hit that sub-conscious state quickly, add in shock and you see a bright light and the placebo induced 'spiritual figures' that you know about.
Near death experiences are SIMPLE to explain... As with a dream, you lose all sense of time as you know it. Same with a near death experience; you see what you see while you're still alive & your brain is conscious, so even if you die and are dead for 20 mins & come back, you have no idea you were without consciousness for those 20 mins. So when you describe what you saw 'when you were dead,' you're actually describing what you saw while you were still alive, but dying. You follow?
@frackcha hi there. Thanks for the message. It is good to be free from a false belief, and thinking about the universe, my own atoms, and how all life on earth is related blows my mind, and is far more wondrous than any religion. Just because my body is a bit broken doesn't mean I am useless, and I am doing all I can to make this one life as great as it can be, for myself, and for others too. Take care xx
the only after life you get imo.. is the guarantee that (if you are buried) the atoms that make up your body WILL become the building blocks of creatures in the vicinity, and those creatures in turn will be the food source of other creatures, and so on....
sometimes i sit and wonder about the total distance that the atoms in my body have traversed, the sights they must have passed, or even been a part of.... and yours may have been farther... i love it! :D
@frackcha Haha true. Love ya brother. Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:2-3). Afterlife is a false teaching and doctrine but there is a place that is prepared for us. I am not a Christian but I love Christ.
@flyingpinkunicorn hi there. Thank you for the kind words and support, I am enjoying life now and everyday is a new adventure. Losing the fear of hell has really helped, and I see things differently now. Take care my friend
I don't think they are trying to convince anyone of anything. In fact it is quite the opposite. Each and every day we are assaulted by the believers who feel compelled to save us. We don't need saving from anything or anyone except for the believers.
@thhall459 they matter to us who live with other hman beings with working brains capapble of thought, "right" and "wrong" are just human concepts and in a universe full of nothing of rocks, yes there is no right and wrong, but when it comes to evidence, when it comes to truth, it does matter very much! This is because beliefs dictate our actions and our actions affect the people and animals around us. I'm sure Carl Sagan would disagree with u about the importance of scientific truth
Having said all of this, I hope that you will agree with me. If you do, then I ask politely, why are you so interested in trying to convince the religions subset of humans that the atheist subset is “right”? Don’t you understand that if you ARE right, then you are wasting your time? Not only do your arguments not matter, in the eyes of the universe, they are not arguments at all. They are just a flash of chemical reactions that will be remembered by no one a million years from now.
We are but a tiny speck of dust. The universe existed before us, and the universe will exist for billions of years after we are all gone. In fact, the universe will last for billions of years after our solar system and our earth crumble to interstellar debris. The universe does not know we are here, doesn’t care that we are here, and won’t miss us after we are gone.
Another way of saying this is that all humans (indeed all life-forms) are merely large macromolecules, some being transiently sentient.
As Carl Sagan would readily agree, our earthly collection of human “macromolecules” represent only a tiny fraction of the vast expanse of matter in the universe.
Even the neural patterns of “non-sentient” animals have no more intrinsic value or “rightness” than your own. I also say that you have to extend this logic to affirm that neither my brain patterns nor your brain patterns are more “right” or “wrong” than those of the most heinous villains in human history.
If that is true, then there are no “right” or “wrong” patterns. As far as the dispassionate universe is concerned, your clear logical thought patterns are no more right or wrong than those of any other living person in general, or of those of Gandhi, Einstein, Newton, C.S. Lewis, Mohammad and his followers in particular.
Dear Sirs, Having listened to many of your videos, please know that I appreciate and understand your point of view. Your arguments are cohesive and sensible. I admit this with great regret. In response, I put some of my thoughts and questions before you. Please understand that I do so with the utmost respect for you and your family.
If you are right, then I say that all of our thoughts are, in reality, no more or less than patterns of electrical signals in our nervous systems. (continued)
Correction: when they say "energy doesn't weight"... well it actually does. Energy has mass, as described by E=Mc^2, and mass in a gravitational field produced a force described as weight.
Just think like this: When you die you will sleep a very long time :) You will not feel pain and you will not feel any desire to anything. You're brain have a hard time to accept that you are not gonna be able to live on thats all.
The questions concerning afterlife is the ONLY problem I have with atheism. Dosen't mean I deny it, but I'll do anything to change that spesific truth.
energy actually DOES bend space and its affected by bending space (in this sense it has weight), but consciousness does not have weight and there is no afterlife or whatever. Just thought I would clear up the mistake involving general relativity.
@xblackeditionx hi again. Thank you my friend. I have brain damage and a low mental age and it has been a long fight separating truth and fantasy, and also standing up to Christians that have lied to me. I believed myself too stupid to understand, but after the encouragement of many fine atheists on YouTube I now study at university. Life is precious, and loving others instead of thinking they are depraved and destined for hell is the more nobler position by far. My respects sir.
Energy is mainly the ability to do work. Work in physics is a scalar quantity that can be described as the product of a force times the distance through which it acts, and it is called the work of the force. Only the component of a force in the direction of the movement of its point of application does work.
Energy is not some orb,or field,is the result of something, not some mystical reality where you can get some power or ability, like Dragon Ball Z does with energy attacks or Quantum Healing
I understand where this caller is coming from. I am severely disabled and have been told I would have a wonderful working, painless body in heaven, but I am now very recently atheist, after researching the bible, and it is difficult to accept that death is the end. I realised that dream of a working body, was stopping me from using the one I have to its fullest capability. The belief of heaven was harming me, and I feel better off now I have left Christianity behind.
@bagospannerz Congratulations, the life you have is so precious, religion and Christianity seem to dull it down. Don't ever let it do that to you. Even though I don't know you, I'm proud of you.
@bagospannerz So in your research of the bible no one pointed out (or perhaps you overlooked) these bible verses to you concerning the soul and the dead?
Ecclesiastes 9:5
...but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,...
Genesis 2:7
...and the man came to BE a living soul....
***
So in other words, the bible teaches that a human IS a soul, it does not POSSESS a soul that can be seperated from the body. A soul/human is conscious of nothing when it's dead.
@bagospannerz Congratulations on accepting reality and doing the best you can with it. I am fortunate to not be disabled physically, so I won't presume to know how you feel. It would be very easy for you to invest in the fantasy, but as you learned on your own that doesn't make it real. Life is complicated enough at times that we don't need superstitious nonsense getting in the way. Religion is a curse on humanity. Best of luck to you. Peace.
@bagospannerz "...have been told I would have a wonderful working, painless body in heaven..." [sic]
ugh!! the level that the religious stoop to, in order to corral more towards their church (ultimately) so you can give generously... It makes me sick!! at least you're free now..
.
this interweb that you just won, where should i send it?? ;-) xx
@bagospannerz Athiests,They think with time a non-living thing can start to live,a non aware being can start to aware,Information (like DNA) can be formed without intellegence, social behaviour and techniques of animals and insects are in the genes ! and the best is this stuff : /watch?v=dOyc98tV5kA did evolve wings ! and the ability to fly ! throug random mutations and naturel selection, needless to speak about the evolution of plantes ...
And they ignored completly this: /watch?v=PD6Ov8JHTfk
@bagospannerz It says a lot about you that you were able to discard the myth of an afterlife even though that promise of an afterlife was presumably even more attractive to you than it was to others without your disability. People like you bolster my confidence in the human race.
@bagospannerz I am glad to hear that you have decided to make the best of your life while you have it. Like poker, you do not need to be dealt a great hand to enjoy the game.
@bagospannerz I don't get why people see only having one life to live renders all our lives worthless. Life is only precious cause it ends. At least I believe that. If we only had one life, wouldn't you want it to live as best as you can, even if you are disabled. I would say that belief helps me live my life better than the idea of an afterlife does.
i don't like how they continue to not allow him to be "right" without getting a word edgwise to him on the same point.. and he actually gave them credit when they made points.. if its not about god, then what is it about? being right? or being right together? being happy together. But these guys ar just another group out for themselves.. dont let religion happen again
God, people keep misunderstanding what fucking energy is. ENERGY IS SIMPLY HEAT, KINETIC ENERGY, AND SHIT LIKE THAT. Not some magic voodoo that looks like lightning or shit you see in movies. FFS read a book.
@y512516 My mistake, I was mistaking the photons that are viewable as energy of light, and the actual particle they make up. Regardless, it doesn't state anything relating to the so called "energy of the soul". I honestly can't remember what made me reply to your previous comment.
This is a great clip because it's a civil conversation. The caller is clearly logical he just sounds scared of the truth, which is a great example of why people go to religion especially if they aren't logical.
Why? WHY??? Why did I youtube-search the fu*king Beach Boys? I should have seen this COMING. Buddha on a bike, how I will HATE that song tomorrow. Thanks heaps, youthank8.
He compares a human life to a battery?LOL That is truly rediculous. What is the battery thinking?-_- What the guy is refering to is the energy that makes your body alive. He is assuming that the soul or the spirit is the energy that makes your body function.Since Athiest do not accept this premise they are not going to deal with the question as it is intended. Also there are many many near death experiences.
@qynsar You completely ignored every point in this video didn't you? The energy in your body is known as electricity and when it disappears and the brain decays all of the information in you is lost.
Believing in an afterlife means you think that the information in your brain fly's away into a new reality after the brain decomposes. There is no reason to believe this.
i agree our personality is based on biology its over but consciousness is not produce by the brain its pure energy and so are emotion thoughts and all of our physical sensory abilities everything has a source even experiencing has its source whatever that is!

BenFosterism 1 week ago
@beyallluv Refuse to believe, first off, does not mean you are right just because you want.
Man does have senses. Sense that ever other animal has in one way shape or form. And many times, better. Owls and octopi have better eyesight. Dogs have a better sense of smell. And then there are animals that have senses we don't, such as echolocation. Does a bat have 'more' of a soul simply because it has one more sense than we do?
gcox99 1 week ago

Triipticz 1 week ago
Well, electrons and ions are some of the things that power us, and they are energy and they do have a weight. Obviously it's almost fucking insignificant, but still. I call bullshit on that website that says people lose weight immediately after dying.
publiusdg 1 week ago 4
@publiusdg electrons don't move into and out of things, and have weight and change weight as they do this. For example, AC = alternating current, which is more or less the electrons moving back and forth. This back and forth movement is the energy, not the electrons themselves. Energy is vibrational movement not mass moving, even though mass moving is kinetic energy but not the energy you are talking about. It's not like water rushing down a river. Irrelevant but interesting to note though.
matthewdoucette 1 week ago
@matthewdoucette Yeah, water rushing down a river is DC. That's actually one of the most commonly used analogies in basic physics courses. Anyway, electrons do indeed move into and out of things, and have mass. The property of having mass, of course, means that they have an energy equivalence. Also interesting to note is that our bodies have intrinsic potential energy by the merit of the atoms' organization into macromolecules. You should understand energy better.

We are essentially made up of energy, and that energy is transferred, but only into the soil and the organism that decompose our body. I would love to dose these intelligent atheists(If you read this, pm me, I'll mail you salvia if it's legal in your state.) and talk to them when they got back.
01greenbud 1 week ago
@01greenbud A good friend of mine has taken DMT before quite a few times and he denies the existence of God. All it does is cause chemical reactions that alter the senses. All he experienced were hallucinations. He's also had a near death experience before and said the sensation was similar. They're just chemical imbalances causing hallucinations. Also, none of his hallucinations were godly. There was no sign of god at all.
JamesHLanier 1 week ago
@JamesHLanier DMT is not a drug, it's a neurotransmitter produced in the pineal gland. All mammals, some lizards, and plants have it. I'm not saying there is a god, I'm saying consciousness can exist separate from the body.

@AK33M E=m(c^2)
Energy = Mass * SpeedOfLight^2
Energy/(SpeedOfLight^2) = Mass
Since the speed of light squared is massive, any energy divided by it is very neglectable, but it does exist. This is the reason why nothing can escape a black hole, because even energy or light has mass and can therefore be effected by gravity. This really doesn't relate to the topic of the video, but since you asked, there you go. =]

Faerlon123 3 weeks ago 25
@Faerlon123 cant speak for others but I do yes- I had a near death experience when i was younger, many years ago-my heart stopped, as did my pulse and obviously my breathing but according to the doctors and the monitors my brain activity did not- and my heart was started again before serious oxygen deprivation. There was no 'outer body' stuff or tunnel vision for me. After all that- I still dont believe in an after life and know that you are absolutely right!
dancingnancy09 3 weeks ago

You were living, unconscious but not quite to your dream state... with death, you hit that sub-conscious state quickly, add in shock and you see a bright light and the placebo induced 'spiritual figures' that you know about.
allfitch84 1 month ago
Near death experiences are SIMPLE to explain... As with a dream, you lose all sense of time as you know it. Same with a near death experience; you see what you see while you're still alive & your brain is conscious, so even if you die and are dead for 20 mins & come back, you have no idea you were without consciousness for those 20 mins. So when you describe what you saw 'when you were dead,' you're actually describing what you saw while you were still alive, but dying. You follow?

@thhall459 they matter to us who live with other hman beings with working brains capapble of thought, "right" and "wrong" are just human concepts and in a universe full of nothing of rocks, yes there is no right and wrong, but when it comes to evidence, when it comes to truth, it does matter very much! This is because beliefs dictate our actions and our actions affect the people and animals around us. I'm sure Carl Sagan would disagree with u about the importance of scientific truth
JuanchoMan 1 month ago

As Carl Sagan would readily agree, our earthly collection of human “macromolecules” represent only a tiny fraction of the vast expanse of matter in the universe.
thhall459 1 month ago
Even the neural patterns of “non-sentient” animals have no more intrinsic value or “rightness” than your own. I also say that you have to extend this logic to affirm that neither my brain patterns nor your brain patterns are more “right” or “wrong” than those of the most heinous villains in human history.
thhall459 1 month ago

TheLordHodne 1 month ago
energy actually DOES bend space and its affected by bending space (in this sense it has weight), but consciousness does not have weight and there is no afterlife or whatever.

I feel like I'm the only person who actually hates the idea of an afterlife and eternal living. xD

Actually, Energy does have weight. It's not measurable, but it does have weight!

is this really that hard to believe???.......come on believers use ur common sense already

Even though I don't know you, I'm proud of you.
xBlackEditionx 1 month ago

Jesses001 3 weeks ago

FFS read a book.
jjjmanyo 1 month ago
@jjjmanyo
energy exists as photons
discrete packets of energy
y512516 1 month ago
@y512516 Um, no? Photons are NOT energy. Do your research. Energy is simply what matter uses and creates.
jjjmanyo 1 month ago
@y512516 Sorry, create was a bad word, nothing creates energy, it simply changes it's form INTO usable energy.
jjjmanyo 1 month ago
@jjjmanyo
check your photoelectric effect and quantum mechanics
energy exists as a fixed amount , no more , no less
its quantified by photons
e= hf
higher the frequency, higher the energy in that photon
y512516 1 month ago
@y512516 My mistake, I was mistaking the photons that are viewable as energy of light, and the actual particle they make up. Regardless, it doesn't state anything relating to the so called "energy of the soul". I honestly can't remember what made me reply to your previous comment.
jjjmanyo 1 month ago
This is a great clip because it's a civil conversation. The caller is clearly logical he just sounds scared of the truth, which is a great example of why people go to religion especially if they aren't logical.

Also there are many many near death experiences.
qynsar 1 month ago
@qynsar You completely ignored every point in this video didn't you? The energy in your body is known as electricity and when it disappears and the brain decays all of the information in you is lost.
Believing in an afterlife means you think that the information in your brain fly's away into a new reality after the brain decomposes. There is no reason to believe this.
