aw poor thing, i agree with jayandashleigh i do think his owners were trying to do a good thing for him by keeping off a injured foot, but they were so stupid they didnt call the vet, if he injured his foot anyway they should have taken him straight to the vet and not have tried to take care of it themselves.

I had a similar issue where we live a vet is not available on the weekends and our horse became seriously ill with Giardia Friday night. The horse was injuring itself badly on the ground trying to get up but it could not stand on its own. When a horse is down they will rub sores on thier body and are prone to paracites. As most slings are special order and can take weeks to arrive we made our own. The vet felt without the sling the horse may have died from self injury and exhaustion.

Obviously the owner had good intentions of keeping him off of an injured foot. But was just ...stupid for not calling a vet. Slings are not abuse. It's the lice and sores that are. And that just comes from ignorance

What you don't is that horses are hung from slings as a method to care for leg and other injuries! Perform a search of an "anderson sling" and you'll see that horses can be treated by placing them in slings. Just becase the one used was not store bought, does not mean that they are abusing an animal. According to the video, the horse had access to food/water. In the movie Dreamer they used a special sling, but it wasn't made out of a dress or other things. It was made out of certain materials suited for the horse and built for a horse. and someone monitored the horse 24/7

i honestly think this poor baby fell into a "stupid person" because the person must have cared something for the horse by trying to keep him off a sore foot, but i think they were just SOOO Stupid and couldnt see that they were doing more damage than good i wouldnt really say they did this all on purpose because it shows him eating out of a pot that was clearly from the people wo had him before.....i dont know about some people
