I remember sneaking out of bed when I was a kid a messing with the UHF channels, you had to turn the set to the side and move the circular antenna to just the right spot til you'd finally see channel 20 KEMO They broadcast Brazilian soccer games at like 3am and I would always hope it was Santos playing so I could watch Pele. I told some friends about it and we were amazed by him and spent hours trying to perfect the bicycle kick. I only saw him live once when the Cosmos played the Earthquakes.
pele didnt actually score this goal. this is a movie. its called victory. And there is nothing wrong with peles hand. Earlier in the game he was fowled and he hurt one of his ribs. That is why he is holding his chest
@MandelaDaKiller this is from a movie (i don't remember the name) and the guys in white are prisoners in a nazi concentration camp and the blacks are the german national team. the refs were paid in that match and a german player injured pele in the ribs. so he's holding his ribs, nothing's wrong with his hand :)
@FUCKisrahell bro he is called the white Pele ,, also there's a chant for him about being the white Pele it's : I saw my mate the other day, he said to me he's seen the white Pele so I asked who is he. he goes by the name of Wayne Rooney of Wayne Rooney ,, He goes by the name of Wayne Rooney,

@RedDevilMUFC93 Do you realise what an arse of yourself you are making?
NOBODY calls Rooney 'The White Pele' except the occasional little idiot United fan like yourself....WHY does nobody else call him that? Because comparing Rooney to a player who scored 1152 goals in 1220 appearences and won THREE World Cups is just plain STUPID..

@shyjames83 what the hell is wrong with you people !! why can't you reply to other people with respect !! can't you give me ur point without saying the fool thing !!
@MandelaDaKiller Maybe it's because he's playing soccer with his feet, and not with his hands. You may've noticed that Pele kept his arms close to his body in almost every match while another player was around, he only uses his body and feet to play the game. Like soccer is supposed to be. Not like all this grabbing, grubbing and slapping that's going on in most leagues nowadays.
@Any75ful It's a 1981 movie directed by John Huston named "Escape to Victory". Max von Sydow, Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone also starred the movie.
@TheCoww0 Believe me dude, I tried to shut up... I don't mind if you say Pele is the best or Maradona sucks, I don't care; it is our own opinions. But dear Mr. Have A Life, you think you really have a life when you spitted some craps like " all Maradona can do is copy Messi" ?
@TheCoww0 How can Maradona copy Messi when Maradona played before Messi was even born?..I hope you've made a mistake, because if you havn't you need to G.T.F.O.
@TheCoww0 Pelé not created the bicycle kick. It was Leônidas da Silva. However Pelé was the best in performing this play. And of course Pelé was way better than Maradona. That's nothing to discuss about that.
@BobMcboyle, watch?v=xLqYiBjX6dk&feature=related two of goals are scored on using his right foot. Also watch?v=S3ufW4aZA0Q featured a selection of some of the best headers. Maradona header is shown at the end of the clip.
Any clips of Pele scoring with a shot from the center of the pitch, passing using his heel or dribbling past opponents from the middle of a pitch and scoring? I think Maradona a more effective player than Pele as the video evidence suggests. I feel your argument is naive.
Be honest guys... according to the video footage available, Maradona is the greatest. I've watched the Pele clips... Maradona is far more awe-inspiring with superior ball control and speed. All the rest of the players considered here are just mortals compared to true football gods such as Pele or Maradona.
@hendrixsj75 I must of been watching different clips than you! For example I've never seen a clip of Maradona scoring with his head, nor have I ever seen Maradona score a single goal with his right foot that even comes close to the hundreds of amazing goals Pele scores with his (other foot) left foot. Pele is unquestionably a more complete player. "Maradona was a genius, but Pele was on another level.."'
@hendrixsj75 The reason why a lot of people think Maradona is better is because of that very reason. Video footage. Of course by the eighties most people owned a t.v. During Pele's time it was rare. We only have about 30% of Pele's game on video.
@WilliamGarrow that's an interesting point. Anyway, one can argue who is the greatest player of all time... but one thing is for sure, and that is, Pele is the father of them all!
@elmagicomessi 1. Pele- Nothing to say about this bloke; ridiculous 2. Ronaldo (Brazil one)- In his peak, only Pele was comparable 3. Di Stefano 4. Maradona 5. Cruyff 6. Zidane 7. Eusebio 8. Puskas 9. Beckanbaur 10. Garrincha
@PERUANO31 fuck you bitch! fuck argentina fuck messi fuck maradona u stupid fucking fagget pedaso de mierda joto estupida cara de pito! all bout brazil u mothacock sucking fagget!

@PazzaZanetti No it's not.. It's from the movie " Escape to Victory" (1981) Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, Pele, etc. google it, Great movie, all football fans should watch it.
@MCATZu no man maradona was more like a winger or second striker. it was his job to assist goals as well as scoring. pele was a striker and he was only supposed to score goals and not assist too many.
Madura.
In my opinion, Ronaldo is the best football player ever. I enjoy football when he was still active. Maradona was the best at his era, also Pele. But, football now need more physical strength. And Ronaldo has speed in his drible.
Maradona was Ok, am not sure how many times he scored but I think it was less than 250 times... so I put him in the top 15 player behind Pele, Romariom Zico, Rivelino, Garrincha, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Tostao, Socrates and others...
@carlosferreira1975 Arthur Friedrich has a higher professional goal tally than Pele, as do a few others. Moreover, Pele's tally of 1280 goals includes goals scored by in non-competitive matches, for example, international tours, and games played for armed forces teams during his national service in Brazil. The number of official league goals scored by Pelé is 589 in 605 games. By the way, Maradona played as an Attacking Midfielder, it's illogical to compare him to a Forward.

Whos the best from Maradona and Pele...well, they are both strikers and strikers are decided the best by goals scored, here you go then:
Pele- total appearances : 669 , total goals scored: 626
Maradona - total appearances 494 , total goals scored: 258:

@MCATZu no man maradona was more like a winger or second striker. it was his job to assist goals as well as scoring. pele was a striker and he was only supposed to score goals and not assist too many.

PEOPLE THE REASON ARGENTINIANS INSIST ON COMPARING IS BECAUSE PELE` IS BLACK AND BRAZILIAN.
go to Pele.net and see it for yourself

Madura.

In my opinion, Ronaldo is the best football player ever. I enjoy football when he was still active. Maradona was the best at his era, also Pele. But, football now need more physical strength. And Ronaldo has speed in his drible.

Maradona was Ok, am not sure how many times he scored but I think it was less than 250 times... so I put him in the top 15 player behind Pele, Romariom Zico, Rivelino, Garrincha, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Tostao, Socrates and others...
carlosferreira1975 11 months ago
@carlosferreira1975 maradona was much better than ronaldhino, tostao and socratis. maradona has more fo a playmaker than a goal scorer.
Gerttervill1 11 months ago
@carlosferreira1975 Arthur Friedrich has a higher professional goal tally than Pele, as do a few others. Moreover, Pele's tally of 1280 goals includes goals scored by in non-competitive matches, for example, international tours, and games played for armed forces teams during his national service in Brazil. The number of official league goals scored by Pelé is 589 in 605 games. By the way, Maradona played as an Attacking Midfielder, it's illogical to compare him to a Forward.
