Everybody X2 is the same EXACT ride as X except X2 has flames, fog, on-ride music, repainted track, and remodeled trains for a smoother ride. I recommend you cover the speakers on the camera when you hold it so air doesn't get through.it helps ALOT.

@sharpproductions R.I.P. "X". BTW, I have Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 that has the original "X" ride @ Magic Mountain before being replace by "X2". Today, the game is broken but I'm not use to building tracks the old way. Meaning that I'm not use to building coasters on RCT2 since I use RCT3.

@sharpproductions They also added music, sound effects and fire. Climbing up the hill I recall hearing two songs: "It Had to be You" and "Enter Sandman." As far as sound effects, I heard Sgt Hartman from Full Metal Jacket and "You Can't Handle the Truth!"--various sounds mixed together to try to break you down before the ride gets crazy. It's pretty cool!

@Sylongra yeah i can understand the heat is not so appreciable in socal, but when i went, like middle of may last year was the best time to have flames. cold 60 degree and drizzle to light rain. Oh that was the best treat of the day to go on X2 a dozen times in a row.

@kevinegen That's a negative. The seats are rotated using a Rack and Pinion system, transferring the linear motion of the second track into the rotating motion of the seats. It's all completely mechanical and requires no electronics or hydraulics that could possibly wear out.

The original X had too many mechanical problems because the system was new and the cars were too heavy. They spent $10M to renovate X by making the cars 20% lighter, the ride smoother, adding awesome audio, flamethrowers, a new paintjob and other technical stuff we don't care about. Thus, X2 was born.
