  • Any physical therapist will tell you rotating your shoulders in is not a natural movement for the rotator cuff and can cause injury. So I would disagree with the rotation in bringing your knuckles together. Common guys this is the stuff that gets people hurt.

  • @hutstuff156 This is bad for you entirely. First, you don't want to do any form of chest press from the floor. You need to be able to bring your wrists back to chest level to get the desired result of chest fatigue. Second, twisting motions hurt your wrists because you are achieving an unnatural movement.

    I do cable flies with the EZ cable machine. Its better. Look up 'scott herman chest workout'... only good stuff from this guy! good luck.

  • twisting the dumbbell at the top doesn't do shit! just gives forearm pump if anything.

    Start chest with incline chest press! heavy weight doing 6-8 reps max for 4 sets and super-set with push ups with your hands inline your with face

  • what about looking into the cause of long arm and short arm of men. this is the cause of not getting results. for long arms men there has to be another way to work the mucle chest which is the hard part for them to do. thanks

  • @MrNibiru10 O.k. but what does that have to do with this video? besides my arm span is 3" longer than I am tall so i would assume I have long arms..that is not a problem for me. don't use that as an excuse. look into your form, your rep range, your diet. are you over training? are you under training? what is your body type?

  • 1) Shaky, uncontrolled technique

    2) "Pause at the top" - No. Rest between sets, no reps. Pausing at the top doesn't workout anything, waste of energy.

    3) Limiting yourself to rep numbers deprives you of achieving proper lactic acid build up. Go until you can't, not until you've counted to 10.

    Testosterone isn't a secret, it's a biochemical aid to building - but it's not the only aid. Vicsnatural - search and thank me later.

  • EVERYONE: do the research...no books. Just contract your chest with one arm as if you were doing the incline fly . now with the other feel the upper pec. Rotate your wrist. Does anything contract or feel different while rotating? No. the only advantage this technique holds is you can contract a LITTLE more. This doesnt do anything but work the end of the chest. it has nothing to do with the upper pec specifically. The bicep, not the pec, controls wrist rotation. BEWARE OF BROSCIENCE!!!

  • there is no "upper chest" workout. the chest grows even by itself. you cant, for example shape yourself at your upper part of your chest a thick layer an beneath nothing. this is not how chest muscles work. check out the anatomy

  • I've commented on this video before but in all honesty this is just complicating something very simple. Get some light weights and get your form down and then just hit your chest heavy with 8-12 reps with a regular flye. If you aren't comfortable with db's just use a machine and go for the same rep range. 8-12 reps. 3-4 sets. Try using them as a pre-exhaust before your heavy presses, That's a killer.

  • You can't isolate any part of the chest. The inner portion fills in over time, but it's not possible to target specific areas. Thumbs up so everyone can see this and realize that they aren't going to get the results they seek with these yahoos advice.

  • There cannot be any tension in the pecs, while the dumbells connect, as the weight stands on your skeleton.

    What I discovered for MY body, is that lifting the whole shoulder to the cranium puts more tension on the upper fibers on any chest exercise.

    Though it is not quite healthy, I have to admit...

  • these guys are flabby dumbasses, you cant target specific parts like that, the entire chest works as a unit....furthermore, flies are next to useless....people overestimate their effectiveness simply because of the "feel" they get from doing them, but in reality the only type of exercises that optimize chest muscle growth are pressing exercises such as dumbell and barbell presses so trust me guys dont waste ur time listening to these weak bitches!

  • @jonnyjones62 nah man fly's are really effective. they give you the curve around your chest. I would recommend flys to finish off a workout any day.

  • @mahzaku well they do make a slight difference but their effectiveness is highly exaggerated, the type of chest a person can ultimately build really depends on testosterone levels and genetics, its not possible to "shape" ur chest exactly the way u want it, its best to stick to pressing exercises to build mass and the shape that it takes ultimately depends on ur genes, look up sean nalewanyj, a world class fitness expert, and hear what he has to say....he definitely knows his stuff!

  • Too bad moving your arm does not have ANYTHING to do with your pecs. Pronation and Supination of your wrist involves your biceps and NOT your chest. Check out basic anatomy 101.

  • I think I can help a bit, but I'm not going to pretend I'm a pro - I'm still learning too. I know that with DBs you have a more natural range of motion for the wrists - which means less stress on them. Also, with a BB, your more dominant side (left or right) will do more of the work - which means you will create imbalance. You can avoid this by using DBs as each side is worked the same. The advantage of BBs though is that you can lift more. Hope this helps dude.

  • I found a muscle map on an exercise web sight that shows the Pectoralis Major separated into a Sternal Head, and a Clavicular Head. The Clavicular Head looks to be just below the Anterior Deltoid. But you're right - there is no such thing as an "Upper Pectoralis" but rather a sub-section of the Pec Major group.
