Thoughts are spinning round my head now and lots of questions

Remember when Desmond FIRST traveled back in time in "Flashes Before your Eyes"? Didn't he change what he did in the past in that episode? Sure, he wound up not buying the ring, but he seemed to put up more of a fight than he "originally" did, didn't he? Isn't there some amount of wiggle room in the WHH approach to time travel? Or am i misinterpreting the nature of the time travel in that episode?
we know the writers have a sense of humour, they named lock, john lock and jeremy benthem, after two philosphers, and faraday after faraday's constant a term used in physics.

My idea is that sawyer will tell dhrama about the purge. A small group of dhrama people will think he is telling the truth. That small group will be spilt in half. Q of the Week: Season 6 will be about the New Dharma Initiative Illana, Bram, ect taking back the island & getting revenge for the purge. That's the coming war. Losties are gonna be stuck in the middle or have to pick sides to fight on. Hopefully LOST series will just provide answers & raise no more questions.

but the freighter couldn't have found the island without Locke being there to not push the button, forcing Des to turn the key which made the island visable.
theory - final season they find out that a crashed time (dimensional) ship is inside the island (possibly alien or future human tech). It is that which is causing all the effects on the island, which includes moving the island around the world + through time causing legends such as atlantis,garden of Eden etc. it has basically moved through the entire existence of humans. Smoky is, kind of, the ships defense (AI) system with a possible HAL complex.

i think because Dan is dead within seconds, whereas young ben was still alive when he was shot.. So he could be healed (for a price, his soul maybe?). The same with ethan and goodwin, they were killed.

Additionally, regarding the whole "widmore is his own grandpa" theory. While i love how poetic it is, i just can't see it being the case. So if charles begat penny who begat charlie who begat penny who begat charlie, that's a time loop. Now how does the time that exists outside the bounds of this loop relate to the time within the bounds? We know it exists, as we've seen the island existing at times far before either penny or charlie (anubis anyone?)
Agree completely on the whole, "Dan/Losties' efforts to detonate bomb will end up causing the incident" thing. But come on. It can't detonate for real, can it? We're talking a Hydrogen bomb. There's no chance (unless the weird electromagnetic properties of the island could absorb them or something) the island would survive a blast like that.... Seriously!!!!!
I agree Faraday said he wanted to detonate the bomb to neutralize the EM energy. And yes, nuclear weapons do give off EM pulses (i think), so i can sort of see where the pseudo-science lines up.
However, i still say that, unless the island somehow can absorb or heal the damage done by the bomb, detonating a nuke will destroy a whole heap of the island. But hey. It's a tv show, i suppose they can do whatever they want as long as they can write it off as semi-plausible.
Okay, so. . . what was the deal with all the commercials? The ones that say, "What did you see?" after some flash of a picture. When the picture flashes onto the screen, it sounds a little like "smokey". When the picture goes away, it looks like there's a cloud of smoke behind the text, as well. So if Hurley in 1977 convinces John Elway it is his destiny to be a Baltimore Colt. So the team stays there, rather than moving. Would the Ravens jersey on Mr. James change to a Colts jersey. Assuming the Baltimore area is the reason for the attachment to the Ravens jersey.
I agree with your theory that Clair died in the attack on new other-ton because in season 3 when Locke is having his vision in the airport and asking Boone who he needs to save, when he points at Clair and Charlie, Boone says they'll be fine for now, as in saying that they were going to die in the close future.

I personally think that the fail safe that Desmond turns at the end of season 2 is what detonates the hydrogen bomb and that's what caused the energy to be released and because there was a crater formed where the hatch was and I think this was made by an underground explosion of the bomb.
Because Faraday tells Pierre Chang about what will happen, he becomes skeptical which leads to him sending Miles and Mrs. Chang off the island to avoid the Incident. Another WHH moment.
Theory for next season: Vincent will go rogue and listing to kates advice end up finding a bunch of guns and using them. Michael would be the first to die because he was a bad owner of vincent but seeing how he is already dead i think vincent will start by killing sayid. The last episode of the last season will be a power show down between vincent,jacob,jack,richard alpert and the smoke monster.
Is it possible that causing the incident to not happen would create a new timeline and the losties living in the 70's would just keep living along that time line?
Then the other time line with flight 316 would just continue living out that time line, only it isn't connected to the other anymore, and things from the past would stop connecting with the 316 time line's present? This would then mean that it wouldn't be possible to get to the other time line.
If there's one thing I've loved about Lost, it's that they don't do the alternative time line crap like Heroes and Back to the Future. I'm all about the Time Loop and WHH.
definately agree...i have my fingers crossed they dont end up with alternate timelines...time travel is already a purely science fiction theme, but i think the WHH theory cements it a lot more in the realms of reality and makes the time travel part of the show a lot more believable

I think not much later they get on the freighter, but if he is so sure to never test on her, then why is she laying on that bed like a zombie when he's gone. What do you think of this?
Theresa was in a catatonic state like that of Charlotte before she died and Daniel after all his experiments. Remember Minkowski and how he was eventually strapped to a bed? Depending on your circumstances, some people have horrible nose bleeds and die and others just lose their minds completely.

To be honest, I am not sure about the father-aspect, I am only sure that he has seen himself. Maybe he found his father, drunk, depressed, in the act of commiting suicide because his mother is a bitch, last words "Yo mama is a bitch.." and then Sawyer - after realising that HE is the son of a bitch - getting into Lord-of-the-Flys-Mode and driving to his mothers home.

I think Jack will die at the end of season 5. Matthew Fox has been doing a lot of movies and has "other" things to pursue. Plus Jack's role has been becoming smaller. Anyway I think lost will finish wilth it being Atlantis then you can have a spin off and spin off books and stories. I think the island will kill off Jack as try to change history.
and more than a few things have changed that the producers said was going to happen. Lost will not end like we all think next season. It is a cash cow. Why would you slaughter it?
I had heard that Matthew Fox is the only actor in the show that knows for a fact how the series will end, which leads me to believe that "Jack" is around until the end.
I thought the same thing about Daniel creeping into the hostile camp waving a handgun... Why not just get behind a nearby tree and yell out "Hello over there! Don't shoot! I'm unarmed and want to come over to talk!"

But anyways, to answer your question, I think season 6 may be about between the others, , and future dharma. As we know from season 2 with the platte drop, dharma is still around somewhere. In cloverfield, a modern movie, the dharma logo is present. I also think that the whole "what lies on the other side of the statue" group has alligence to the future 2008 dharma.
I think dharma is around but I chalk the pallet drop off to the fact that if it was dropped at slightly the wrong bearing it would end up falling in a different time.
I see your point, but if you remember the season finale of season 2 Desmond talks to Calvin about faking a lockdown. They were faking the lockdown in order to get the palette so that would erase the idea that the palettle was for drahma in the 70s. Only my guesses - Incident will happen, of course. - All losties will end up in the new present time of 2008, with locke, sun, illana, bram. - The coming war is the Others against Dharma final showdown. - illana & bram & co are the new Dharma coming for revenge from the purge. Season 6 will be this final fight played out. I always wondered "dam Dharma got kicked in the nuts (the purge) & did nothing about it? That's it? Purged & gone. Nuh Uh. Coming war is the "Empire Strikes Back" Dharma.
They'll have to destroy the island (suggested by Richard) since they cant afford to let it fall into the wrong hands, but certain people (Locke, Ben) fight to protect the island.
Yes, I got the impression Dan was actually acting like the way it always was supposed to be rather than changing it. I guess he doesn't notice it. And I'm quite sure Ellie knew she would shoot/him, and that's why she put so much effort to make him go to the island "again" and maybe she could try to change. whatever... Q of the Week: Season 6 will be about the New Dharma Initiative Illana, Bram, ect taking back the island & getting revenge for the purge. That's the coming war. Losties are gonna be stuck in the middle or have to pick sides to fight on. Hopefully LOST series will just provide answers & raise no more questions.

but the freighter couldn't have found the island without Locke being there to not push the button, forcing Des to turn the key which made the island visable.

theory - final season they find out that a crashed time (dimensional) ship is inside the island (possibly alien or future human tech). It is that which is causing all the effects on the island, which includes moving the island around the world + through time causing legends such as atlantis,garden of Eden etc. it has basically moved through the entire existence of humans. Smoky is, kind of, the ships defense (AI) system with a possible HAL complex.
That or they give us an open ended ending :(

i think because Dan is dead within seconds, whereas young ben was still alive when he was shot.. So he could be healed (for a price, his soul maybe?). The same with ethan and goodwin, they were killed.

im 100% that it has something to do with charlie, we dont got the answer on who or what that made hurley show up at the airport and get on 316, maybe he did it because charlie told him and maybe he is back on the island looking for claire like kate is hehe you never know... this could go down in season 6

Additionally, regarding the whole "widmore is his own grandpa" theory. While i love how poetic it is, i just can't see it being the case. So if charles begat penny who begat charlie who begat penny who begat charlie, that's a time loop. Now how does the time that exists outside the bounds of this loop relate to the time within the bounds? We know it exists, as we've seen the island existing at times far before either penny or charlie (anubis anyone?)

Agree completely on the whole, "Dan/Losties' efforts to detonate bomb will end up causing the incident" thing. But come on. It can't detonate for real, can it? We're talking a Hydrogen bomb. There's no chance (unless the weird electromagnetic properties of the island could absorb them or something) the island would survive a blast like that.... Seriously!!!!!

I agree Faraday said he wanted to detonate the bomb to neutralize the EM energy. And yes, nuclear weapons do give off EM pulses (i think), so i can sort of see where the pseudo-science lines up.
However, i still say that, unless the island somehow can absorb or heal the damage done by the bomb, detonating a nuke will destroy a whole heap of the island. But hey. It's a tv show, i suppose they can do whatever they want as long as they can write it off as semi-plausible.

Okay, so. . . what was the deal with all the commercials? The ones that say, "What did you see?" after some flash of a picture. When the picture flashes onto the screen, it sounds a little like "smokey". When the picture goes away, it looks like there's a cloud of smoke behind the text, as well. Does all that have anything to do with Lost or am I chasing dead cats?

I agree with your theory that Clair died in the attack on new other-ton because in season 3 when Locke is having his vision in the airport and asking Boone who he needs to save, when he points at Clair and Charlie, Boone says they'll be fine for now, as in saying that they were going to die in the close future.

I personally think that the fail safe that Desmond turns at the end of season 2 is what detonates the hydrogen bomb and that's what caused the energy to be released and because there was a crater formed where the hatch was and I think this was made by an underground explosion of the bomb.

Because Faraday tells Pierre Chang about what will happen, he becomes skeptical which leads to him sending Miles and Mrs. Chang off the island to avoid the Incident. Another WHH moment.

Theory for next season: Vincent will go rogue and listing to kates advice end up finding a bunch of guns and using them. Michael would be the first to die because he was a bad owner of vincent but seeing how he is already dead i think vincent will start by killing sayid. The last episode of the last season will be a power show down between vincent,jacob,jack,richard alpert and the smoke monster.

Is it possible that causing the incident to not happen would create a new timeline and the losties living in the 70's would just keep living along that time line?
Then the other time line with flight 316 would just continue living out that time line, only it isn't connected to the other anymore, and things from the past would stop connecting with the 316 time line's present? This would then mean that it wouldn't be possible to get to the other time line.

If there's one thing I've loved about Lost, it's that they don't do the alternative time line crap like Heroes and Back to the Future. I'm all about the Time Loop and WHH.

definately agree...i have my fingers crossed they dont end up with alternate timelines...time travel is already a purely science fiction theme, but i think the WHH theory cements it a lot more in the realms of reality and makes the time travel part of the show a lot more believable

Nice recap, but I have a question for you. When Daniel is talking to Widmore he says that he tested on himself cause he would never do something like that to Theresa. I think not much later they get on the freighter, but if he is so sure to never test on her, then why is she laying on that bed like a zombie when he's gone. What do you think of this?

Theresa was in a catatonic state like that of Charlotte before she died and Daniel after all his experiments. Remember Minkowski and how he was eventually strapped to a bed? Depending on your circumstances, some people have horrible nose bleeds and die and others just lose their minds completely.

I think Jack will die at the end of season 5. Matthew Fox has been doing a lot of movies and has "other" things to pursue. Plus Jack's role has been becoming smaller. Anyway I think lost will finish wilth it being Atlantis then you can have a spin off and spin off books and stories. I think the island will kill off Jack as try to change history.

I love your recaps, but I wish you hadn't said who the episode was going to be about next week, I always try to be surpised. But anyways, to answer your question, I think season 6 may be about between the others, , and future dharma. As we know from season 2 with the platte drop, dharma is still around somewhere. In cloverfield, a modern movie, the dharma logo is present. I also think that the whole "what lies on the other side of the statue" group has alligence to the future 2008 dharma.

I see your point, but if you remember the season finale of season 2 Desmond talks to Calvin about faking a lockdown. They were faking the lockdown in order to get the palette so that would erase the idea that the palettle was for drahma in the 70s. However, I do agree that it may have been from a different time, but it wasn't from the distant past,

Only my guesses - Incident will happen, of course. - All losties will end up in the new present time of 2008, with locke, sun, illana, bram. - The coming war is the Others against Dharma final showdown. - illana & bram & co are the new Dharma coming for revenge from the purge. Season 6 will be this final fight played out. I always wondered "dam Dharma got kicked in the nuts (the purge) & did nothing about it? That's it? Purged & gone. Nuh Uh. Coming war is the "Empire Strikes Back" Dharma.

Yes, I got the impression Dan was actually acting like the way it always was supposed to be rather than changing it. I guess he doesn't notice it. And I'm quite sure Ellie knew she would shoot/him, and that's why she put so much effort to make him go to the island "again" and maybe she could try to change. whatever...
