There is a strong possibility that you could cut off a finger and your drumming career if you are not extremely careful. I would not recommend this procedure as it is too hazardous.

Pro Cymbal: NAMM 2010 Cleaning Demonstration <copy and paste into browser and watch this YouTube upload. Look folks, this guy is spot on...even the PRO CYMBAL at NAMM uses high speed rotation to clean cymbals. This guys is vertical and their guys is horizontal...and I always take off the logo for many reasons...great upload and it is true, high speed rotation in vertical position is how cymbals are lathed....an cleaned. ...tush-ay!

@GoldenRing1989 ofcourse they're meant to be spun, how do you think they're lathed? also, there is a professional cymbal cleaning service backstage at many festivals in the US that uses this exact method but al housed within an oil barrel. If your cymbal was safely locked in and it worked, why not do it? although, the weight of a larger cymbal may break your machine!

Cool! but way overkill. I use Barkeepers Friend. it is the easiest way i have ever found to make cymbals look like new. You can get it at the store where Ajax and Comet cleaners are kept. Just take a wet sponge and some sprinkled on BKF and light scrub and it makes cymbal look like new. Couldn't be easier.

Yes, I've seen those before. Well, The Rocktagon still is round, it's a perfect octagon which completes the shape in a congruent and symmetrical way. Very close to a circle.
