Mind you, the Greek Orthodox Church teaches that, in some sense, the Nation of Israel was a precursor to the Church, and the Church is the new (or, in Roman theology, the "fulfilled") Israel. But the nation of Israel is not synonymous with the Church proper, since the nation of Israel existed before the Church was built by Christ on Peter. The Church is a collection of believers holding to the true doctrine. Now, do you think GMS is that Church?

One problem (among several) is that, unlike the Greek Orthodox Church, GMS has no valid Apostolic Succession (I know you find that phrase spooky, but it refers to an unbroken line of teachers going back to the Apostles). GMS basically just came on the scene a few years ago (in light of the doctrinal changes, you're not even continuous with the ICUPK, and especially not with the falsehoods taught by "Abba" Bivens).

WMitD, indeed, the Spirit has testified against the possibility that GMS is the Church. This is seen when even the chief teachers of GMS (perhaps you?) contradict themselves, and change doctrines. This is seen when they show they don't understand the Scriptures. This is even shown when they adhere to mangled translations, like the KJV or the New World Translation.

WMitD, no, actually, we CAN eliminate the mangled translations you employ right away, and conclude that they are not translated from the same scriptures the author of Luke and Acts used. I'll tell you this now: the Greek Orthodox Church (unlike GMS) uses a translation of the same Scriptures employed by the author of Luke and Acts. Here's two examples.
(1) Go to Genesis 10:24 and tell me who was Shelah's father.
(2) Go to Amos 9:12 and try to claim it mentions Edomites.

WMitD, the fact is, if GMS is teaching from a text different from the text used by the author of Luke and Acts, or the Apostle James, then it is hard to conceive of GMS as being part of the same Church as Luke and James. On top of that, if the Greek Orthodox Church is basically using the same Scriptures Luke and James used (and GMS is not), then the Greek Orthodox Church has yet more evidence in its favor of being more likely than GMS of being the Church established by Christ.

Luke had the right answer, and so does the Greek Orthodox Church. A big strike against the possibility of GMS being the Church is the fact that you use a mangled, corrupted version of the scriptures (e.g. the KJV translators will receive a harsh punishment for what they did to the book of Esther).

He did not just hand people the Bible; rather HE BUILT A CHURCH (Matthew 16:18). That Church is the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Timothy 3:15). We are to hold to the traditions of that Church, both oral and written (2 Thessalonians 2:15). The believers' understanding of the scriptures is to be guided by the Apostles (Acts 8:31).

The answer to your question is the Catholic Church, but I am still investigating where the Catholic Church is (e.g. the Greek Orthodox Church holds itself to be the Catholic Church, and rejects the Vatican's claims to being such).
