I heard this a million times as a child. My parents gave me the 45 when they got tired of it, and I wore it out. Hadn't heard it in years. Wonderful music.
I have watched this film 100 times as it is my all-time favourite, so I feel qualified to say that your short clip is a truly superb summary of the film. Well done.
Fantastic and thank you. PS are we supposed to laugh at the earlier attempt at a joke about the zimmer frame ? Well, with a user name like reggiepudding what better input can you expect than that.
I thought that you might enjoy this playlist I built this afternnon. Your segment helps to round it out very nicely. Thanks. youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5213BCBBB77D02FA
Brilliant - The Third Man has to be the best movie ever made (and being in my seventies I have seen a lot of movies) The zither music is so haunting, the main theme and the Cafe Mozart Waltz - absolutely marvellous - love your editing and look forward to some more great moments from the movies

In the sountrack to The Third Man there is one song listed as "Trap to Catch Harry." Does anyone know what the real name of this song is? I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks for this. I own the recently restored film and show it to my students. Yes, they finally know that their old teacher knows something of beauty and life. The music is so haunting and full of longing and completely embraces the theme...simply the finest film made in the last century! And, yes, as I am and the author was, so Catholic.
Beautiful work and a wonderful dedication to not only one of the world's finest motion pictures, but that timeless and wonderful music by Mr. Anton Karas. Greatly enjoyed!
I remember as a kid in the 60's my grandpa would be hearing this record and me and my brothers would always start fighting all over the bedroom when he played it. We just thought it was a funny song and we'd go apeshit fighting all over the room . Nowadays I love the song so much as I remember my grandpa and that house in Los Angeles. Wish I had a time machine.
As for the movie itself...I dont have the eloquence to do it justice with a critique..its all been said. All I would add is this...films of this quality and, genius are a thing of the past, I realize that age may somewhat obscure one's perception of ..........oops I nearly went off on one again !!
Also, very well put together video of excellent clips. I have a big picture of Orson Welles from this movie in a frame, it reminds me I should put it back up on my wall!
I always remember my Grandpa playing this on his guitar when I was a kid. He was totally old world with his white shirts and slacks on and wearing a fedora siting back with all his old man friends in the garden drinking wine and smokin cigars and talking away. You don't see old world guys like trhat anymore. Great memories.
One of my fave flics(&one of the greatest of all time),impeccably presented. The "Cafe Mozart Theme" must be a top-5 movie theme OF ALL TIME!(couldn't resist)
Sehr schön geschnitten, toll :-)

Great background music on the zither. A real haunting tune. One of my favorite movies.
Don’t think I ever heard zither music in a movie again.
Bought the album soundtrack and it featured the song “The Harry Lime Theme” which is an alternate name for “The Third Man Theme”

A great film concerning morals, ambiguity and betrayed friendships. Not forgetting the nocturnal landscapes.
Reed even used his hands , instead of Welles', to reach for the sewer grate where Harry is finally fushed away.
