the medium (16 bit) makes my screen look like crap

Well if that is true you can simply leave it at (32 bit) and leave the hardware acceleration as shown in the video and recording will still be faster and more responsive.If it still lags just tell me.

Well it's better for recording because it may show your graphics a little bit crapy[it depends what kind of computer you have] but it will make your recording studios run quicker.

well, actually, with custom settings for my camtasia 6.0 + highest 32 bit + my custom render settings for sony vegas.... it will be very hard and nearly impossible to get it to a quality that is easy to tell the difference between the qaulity i use for uploads now and what that other quality would be (unless the other quality is worse than the one i use for uploads)

Not really it messes up your computer graphics when you change it but if you don't like it like that you can change the settings again and it does make your recording studios run more efficiently in many ways.If it didn't help you maybe you just have a bad computer or a bad graphics card.
