Agreed Cecil Eby,s book pays tribute to triumphs and short comings on both sides, Civil war is as brutal as any other war and both sides where guilty of atrocities .

The Siege of the Alcazar by Cecil Eby is an excellent account of this siege. It is also the only secular book that I have read on the Spanish Civil War which does not consistently attack Franco and the Nationalist cause.
