@DirektorHockaday I have built a car myself that made 370 whp and 464 tq on with an iron head 3.4. LOL my little v6 beats out 99.9% of all v8 fieros in the hp and tq dept, and it didn't take me 25 years to do it.
Plus I get better gas mileage then a v8 too. But then again, I don't have that cool pedo wow factor of a v8 with its sub 250 whp dyno graph from a big cube v8.

2 inch thick adapter plate, the waterpump is in the wheel well so you have to cut a hole in the frame of the car. Archies kit is junk!!! Don't buy anything from him
this gives v8 fieros no justice. of course if u put a stock small block chevy in a fiero its not going to dyno anything more than stock. many ppl have there own pref. a 3.4 DOHC with boost is fast but many ppl prefer the raw all motor horse power that can be reached with a small block chevy. just becuz the motor in my last street stock was 160 hp when i got it doesnt mean anything. by the time it hit the track i was pushing well over 400 hp. theres no reason to say all small block fieros r shit

Stock sbc northstar makes around 300 hp, and it is pretty consistent. Northstar fieros, also sbc's make a consistent 300 hp range. That's more than than stock 3800 with about 240 hp or a 3400 with about 220 hp, which everone knows about. Sure you can get an underpowered 230 hp sbc, but that's low end. See "northstar fiero dyno" They're a consistent 300 hp range stock.

The numbers are a bit low. However the true issue with the v8 fiero is traction. Most people forgot that the fiero's strong point was its ability to launch. I myself have a 84se with a 389 (383 stroker) with the 4t65e-hd (auto) and traction is the biggest problem. The reason the sc3800 are generallt faster is the fact they don't spin off the line even half as much as most v8's do. With 350 hp and around 400tq, really good tires and a good suspension setup, you can easily do high 10's +
No, I have not yet dyno'd mine. And no vids. I will post some if i can get it to the track before the end of the month. You're probably right about the 10's, however a fried of mine has a 355 with just under 400 to the crank, and he's running low 12's with stock suspension and not the greatest tires. Most people who build these things forget that it takes some serious $ to get into the 10's.

No sports car should ever have a Heavy Cast Iron V8, the weight is WAY to much.

It really seems that the V8 in the Fiero really isn't the best way to go. The 3.8 SC seems to get the better numbers & the install is a bit easier. This idea of "tweaking the tranny mounts & the goofy WP drive should trip a red flag for most that are curious about a repower. Yes indeed the trannies will have an upper torque limit & only when a specific forum is established for tranny "blowups" will we know for sure how much they can take.
How can ANYONE show their face after dyno numbers like that? Better yet, how come Cletus ALWAYS seems to drive the customers cars to the shows? @DirektorHockaday I have built a car myself that made 370 whp and 464 tq on with an iron head 3.4. LOL my little v6 beats out 99.9% of all v8 fieros in the hp and tq dept, and it didn't take me 25 years to do it.
Plus I get better gas mileage then a v8 too. But then again, I don't have that cool pedo wow factor of a v8 with its sub 250 whp dyno graph from a big cube v8.

i'm with a few of these other people lol. just go with a 3800. thats what i'm in the process of doing. and with all the mods i'm doing with it it'll be making much more than the 383 that is in the video. i'm planning on running at least 10's with my fiero. and btw 3800 is much better because (not 100% sure about this) but i've read about 3800's potential being just under 1000HP. stick with 3800. Not only that, the kit lloyde made he just came out with and is better then archies. Archies has been doing them for 25 years now, and his kit hasnt changed one bit.
2 inch thick adapter plate, the waterpump is in the wheel well so you have to cut a hole in the frame of the car. Archies kit is junk!!! Don't buy anything from him

this gives v8 fieros no justice. of course if u put a stock small block chevy in a fiero its not going to dyno anything more than stock. many ppl have there own pref. a 3.4 DOHC with boost is fast but many ppl prefer the raw all motor horse power that can be reached with a small block chevy. just becuz the motor in my last street stock was 160 hp when i got it doesnt mean anything. by the time it hit the track i was pushing well over 400 hp. theres no reason to say all small block fieros r shit

Stock sbc northstar makes around 300 hp, and it is pretty consistent. Northstar fieros, also sbc's make a consistent 300 hp range. That's more than than stock 3800 with about 240 hp or a 3400 with about 220 hp, which everone knows about. Sure you can get an underpowered 230 hp sbc, but that's low end. See "northstar fiero dyno" They're a consistent 300 hp range stock.

The numbers are a bit low. However the true issue with the v8 fiero is traction. Most people forgot that the fiero's strong point was its ability to launch. I myself have a 84se with a 389 (383 stroker) with the 4t65e-hd (auto) and traction is the biggest problem. The reason the sc3800 are generallt faster is the fact they don't spin off the line even half as much as most v8's do. With 350 hp and around 400tq, really good tires and a good suspension setup, you can easily do high 10's +

No, I have not yet dyno'd mine. And no vids. I will post some if i can get it to the track before the end of the month. You're probably right about the 10's, however a fried of mine has a 355 with just under 400 to the crank, and he's running low 12's with stock suspension and not the greatest tires. Most people who build these things forget that it takes some serious $ to get into the 10's.

No sports car should ever have a Heavy Cast Iron V8, the weight is WAY to much.
Modern 4 and 6 cylinder aluminum engines will make this car Much more Fun with,Braking Handling, MPG, and Power being the addded Benefit.Running 14s and 13s with an engine that size is REALLY bad.

And just for reference this motor was swapped for an ls1 350 hp, and it still only ran a high 13 in the qtr mile. 13.9

Having v8 archie (dickbag) put in an ls1 for you will run about $18k. LOL $18k to run high 13's is a joke!!

He did do the tuning(or lack thereof) which is why it WAS so underpowered. He is a hack and he has proven time and time again he has no clue what he is doing.
You should have seen the wiring harness that he did for his Solstice swap. Sensor connectors just cut right off with loose wires hanging everywhere. Thats why he got laughed out of the solstice community. They weren't going to settle for that crap.

The 377 cubic inch motor dynoed 230 whp and archie had nothing but excuses as to why it was so low. He changed his excuses every other day. Its been documented on the internet.
It was the ls1 that he swapped in for the 377 that ran a high 13 in the qtr mile.

It really seems that the V8 in the Fiero really isn't the best way to go. The 3.8 SC seems to get the better numbers & the install is a bit easier. This idea of "tweaking the tranny mounts & the goofy WP drive should trip a red flag for most that are curious about a repower. Yes indeed the trannies will have an upper torque limit & only when a specific forum is established for tranny "blowups" will we know for sure how much they can take.
