I once confused an Australian guy for being English on xbox live. He didn't like that very much, I learned that lesson.

i am english and i know quite a few people that speak like this so i understand the mistake. However by the end of the video the accent seems to get stronger and its obvious its australian.

This is the work of 2 Australian comedians who do a weekly satirical political skit on the ABC. Usually based around a real event of some description.
John Clarke and Bryan Dawe.
John Clarke is always the one being interviewed.
if you search their names on Youtube, there are plenty more examples of their work.
