im going to play this song at my funeral... Metallica did ok if i looked at the song as a rock song...but this song almost makes me cry every time idk why
i so remember growin up an whn my stepmom put this song on it was time to clean,so u were gunna either help out go outside to play.lol!!!!!! As we have grown to like this song me an my sis say tht each time we hear it.......lol
Sitting in a bar in Houston with John Maw. We knew Seger was playing at the Summit.. Decided to go see him and a security guard let us in for free to catch the last couple songs. That was late seventies. Great time!
hey gog you have no taste in music PLEASE DON'T IN SULT THE BESTEST SINGER BOB SEGAR ROCKS... IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THEN PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THHH EEE MANN
i disliked it not because it's a bad song or a bad singer it's just because its sooo dull and empty and lacking energy and spirit. Metallica made this song so good it gives you the chills. .
@gog123 Why do you think Metallica did a cover of this song in the first place? Not every song has to be ear splitting loud ,and come from a place of anger and rage.
Loved the Metallica version-it's good to see where its roots are from. Great song, It's easy to see why Metallica liked it so much. Thanks, Bob Seger!

I'd like to see Adam Lambert do this song, with his own twist on it, of course. I can even imagine some freaky-sounding sitar music with an up-tempo beat, something electro-pop and dance-y. Think about it, Adam, and make sure you wear your Ring of Fire pants!
I like the bob seger version alot better, but i'll say the same thing i usually say when i hear a well done cover, and thier's was. the greatest form of flattery is imitation, and if you'll recall, the purpose to that whole CD was to pay respect to the the artists who had been influencial to them.
High five me...:-D...I heard "Still the same" on the radio yesterday and thought it might be Eric Clapton...I'm glad I found out it is Bob Seger...I need a CD pretty soon :-)
Awesome pics. Love the life story shown here. The is one of my favourite songs ever. To me, this is simply a song about being a rock star, the inside woes. For me it has a double meaning because it's just like what life looks like when I slip into the manic spectrum of my bipolar disorder. It's really powerful especially in that place.

Bob Seger one of the greatest of my generation, he will never get old for some of us from the 70's, and this song is one of my faves

@sweetcgardner the rock and roll hall of fame is a big joke anyway there are a lot of people/bands that NEED to be in there but aren't.

so much emotion in this song as in most of his songs, i only wish music was like this today!
