  • Get a job, dont rely on handouts and you can spend your money how you want to.

Welfare is a not a right.

You should be grateful that your children can get free education and you get free health care and houses, and if you want more you have to work hard.

Thats what happends everywhere else in the world.

In 90% of this world if you dont work you die because not all government can afford to give money for people to live.

  • Uneducated redneck, if only you knew the full truth, but thats the trouble with people who don't want to know or give a damn, children are still children, and don't they deserve a right in THIS world too or are you just plain ignorent like the rest, but thats the trouble with our media, only want to show the negative news of my people! Getting a job everywhere else in the world might be easy for WHITE people, oh but you think you know everything! White kids get free education too.

  • love this

  • peace

  • if they dont want to be westernisation take away the houses the cars the clothing the eduction give them back a shit load of there land so they can live their way and maybe we can lern something from them about land conservation and prevent things like the vic bush fires we can lern from them as they can lern from us lets educate each other and live in peice

  • yes it was disgustingly obvious with the land leases what was going on!!! I've just read the Mutijulu people can't even get a dialysis machine into their community because it is being blocked and it's already funded by the wonderful Jimmy Little Foundation. Can you believe this, this is disgusting!!!!!

  • Try monitoring how much coke-a-cola is consumed at communities (starting as kids!). Plus grog, cigarettes, crap food from the community shop (pies). Then no responsibilty about diet and hygene - and surprise, surprise Kidney disease kicks in.

  • THEY DONT WANT TO HEAR ANYONES VOICE... So right... so right... they should of been given the choice to continue how they wanted to live, but no, westernising the world continues without their approval! I see a global dictatorship emerging, no wait it has emerged!

  • They are not forced to drive around in Toyatas or buy food at the local shop. They do so because it is easier to spend your dole money at the shop than chase a wallaby around all day. If the kids went to school, which most of them don't, they could choose and determine how and when they wanted "westernisation" and do it on their terms. Until this happens they will always be controlled rather than in control.

  • those people understand how humans should live. They have been poisened for so long by the iron fist of the Elite, great vid :)

  • It's a brave new world, but only in the sense of the book title.

  • The life expectancy for Indigenous males is 56 years, and for an Indigenous female, 63 years. Males in the total Australian population have a life expectancy of 76 years and females 82 years.

Discrimination, prejudice and stigma; is murder.

  • Over 90% of indigenous people smoke cigarettes, many drink to excess, hardly any children go to school, because their parents don't care. You can only help if people want to progress. If you want to wallow in self-pity then nothing will change. Progress comes only from within.

  • Starmihoaname; I am a white healthy woman with privileges. However; I am conscious of what happens to people when their dreams, identity and dignity are damaged.

Yes; people need to take responsibility to better them-selves, but still there is an imbalance, in regards to the playing field, of what indigenous people have inherited.

  • My friend worked in Gove and she said the same as you that the kids mainly eat chips and soft drinks. The kids are so beautiful it's a frustrating situation and education helps. Do any of the communties have good services out there?

  • I live in a large suburb in Queensland with an Aboriginal name; I doubt there are any aboriginals owning homes in it, as I never see any. This is just one example of how we took everything away from them. It is time we gave something back and help the process of reconciliation; we have a long history of disadvantaging the indigenous population and a short history of limited support.

  • Then why don't you set the example and put your words into actions. Next time you see some homeless Indigenous people - invite them into your home and provide food and shelter for a period of time.

  • star,

your comments do not reflect reality. Over 90 % of Indigenous people smoke cigarettes? you discredit yourself consistantly.

  • Ask the marketing managers from the cigarette companies. And I'm assuming you've been out to a Aboriginal Community, or are you another urban armchair experts? I work for an Indigenous organisation - and do a bloody good job and work hard.

  • Hey. I was sent the link to this video from people in Ireland and the UK. I had never heard of these acts. Just wanted to let you know that this video is achieving is purpose of expanding awareness.

  • That Richard Gandhawuy at Galiwin'ku! Good work guys, keep up da fight!

  • Stop Aboriginal Genocide on Stolen Aboriginal Land, Self Determination not Intervention !!!

  • This heartless and racist action by an Australian Government is a shameful indictment upon the Australian nation.

The new Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd must now abolish the NT emergency response legislation and call upon the Federal and State and Territory Governments to sit down and enter into respectful dialogue with Aboriginal Nations. Listen, consult and negotiate with Aboriginal people in their communities and then act alongside and in support of Aboriginal People.

  • A message to the Australian Government: SHAME ON YOU....YOUR A DISGRACE TO HUMAN RIGHTS AND AN EMBARRESSMENT TO YOUR COUNTRY IF NOT THE WORLD. YOU WHO POINTED THE FINGER AT SOUTH AFRICA TO MAKE THE CHANGES HAVE NEVER MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO CLEAN UP YOUR OWN CRIMES against HUMANITY AND CONTINUE TO CARRY THOSE CRIMES OUT IN FULL VEIW OF THE WORLD. YOU WILL, ONE DAY I KNOW, BE MADE TO FACE THOSE CRIMES IN FRONT OF THAT WORLD. YOUR SHAME, WILL BE YOUR NATIONS TO HARBOUR FOR ALL TIME. SHAME ON YOU.

  • WOW! Thanks for giving a voice to these beautiful people! Why isn't the Australian Governmet "grabbing land" in Melbourne or Sydney, where there is child abuse? Thanks for connecting the dots, and making the motivations transparent (URANIUM RIGHTS.) Support of indigenous rights and all human rights, must become the #1 sincere motivation for all governments, and all people. Thank you Sinem!

  • the australian govt is always one of the first to chime in with criticism of Muslims the world over while it propagates its own land grab, neo-colonialism at home. Disgraceful and typical.

  • For those who don't have time to watch the video, can you put a summary of the voiceover on this page somewhere, or extend the introduction?

  • Manymak Dhawu!

This is a very important message, that we need all Australians to hear and act on... ABoriginal people need to have their power returend, they need to be autonomous for their communities, it is their land that we all stand on!

Well done Sinem and all the Yolngu who are making this happen, more power to you!

We miss you all, markapmirr mirrithirri
