Sure it will help. The economy will fix itself naturally because this is a cyclical recession, but it will be slow and painful. The point of Keynesian economics is to ease the recession, so that not too many people end up on the streets. The Great Depression didn't end with the New Deal, but it became much more bearable than beforehand.

For you paper nerds out there, thats 10 billion 100 dollar bills @ about one gram each. 454 grams to a pound X 10 billion = 22,026,431 pounds, or 11,031 tons of paper.

My friends a CPA and she told me that about 90% of her clients DON'T pay Federal Taxes and try to not pay ANY State taxes either. Is this a conspiracy or what? I'm a conservative libertarian, so I empathize with the Red party's resistance to passing this bill. That being said, the Red's didn't care where the last trillion dollar bail out came from, and in fact it was borrowed, just like this bills funding will come from borrowing. What's worse, is that the Reds have their OWN trillion dollar stimulus counter proposal... both parties are extremely united under one ideology; what you're seeing right now is simply political maneuvering. first of all the government did cause this to happen back when Cater was president and enacted a housing bill that forced lenders to loan money to low income earners and now that legislation has caused this housing crises and we all now that is the root cause of the hard economic times. So when the government intervention back in the fall 08 with the 700 billion bailout they slowed progress, instead of the weak companies fail and the strong ones take over and prosper. Take a history lesson.

For you paper nerds out there, thats 10 billion 100 dollar bills @ about one gram each. 454 grams to a pound X 10 billion = 22,026,431 pounds, or 11,031 tons of paper.
A truckload of paper typically tips the scales @ 22 tons. 11,031 divided by 22 = 501 truckloads of paper.
My exercise serves the same purpose of Mr. Thune's. None.

No, actually I wouldn't mind if they got rid of some of the tax cuts which don't generate any money and added back in some of the infrastructure projects that got scrapped like plans for water treatment and Amtrak. The republicans won't okay a bill that the dems put forth anyway so might as well cut out their suggestions meant to appease them and actually put in good stimulus producing options based on some economic study.
