You make a deal only later when the case seems hopeless, not before then. Nothing makes sense. & what about probation after 12 yrs?

There is a sure element of evil in this case. It's hard to imagine that any justice was served. I believed for a long time that Karla Homolka had a very good case regarding spousal abuse defense but those video tapes... and how it all came tumbling out... I'd gladly take them both to the electric chair and I'm not even in favor of capital punishment that's how evil it was.

Im a Canadian, and yes, our justice system is straight fucked. You can kill 20 people - don't matter if its men, women or children up here, and the most you can get is 25 years in jail. Then you're walking the streets again. No death penalty, no nothing. in a weird way, its almost shameful.

The only possible way for a person to be released after being classidied as a D.O is for a team to judge that he is mentally able to be in society with out being harmful. and no one is going to release one of the worst canadians in history out on the streets again. She got paranoid & he happened to beat her at the perfect time for her to use that as a way to leave him, get away from him, and get her "deal of the century." It's a shame that her case was done before his. Nobody knew just how involved and willing Karla was until they saw the tapes. She knew if she turned on him, the sooner the better, because she'd have a better chance of them not finding the tapes until after her trial which is exactly what happened.
