THIS IS THE ALBUM OF THE 90'S, NO QUESTION, ITS GOT IT ALL BABY! If you own this album then you already know, but if you don't, don't hurt yourself rushing to buy it, because you'll be a better human for it ; )
I think I prefer the cover by Them called "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" but this song is really good too and yes i came here because of the movie Love and other drugs cause when the music started in the movie i was like OMG its that song i love it! and then when the guy started to sing the lyrics were just all diferent... :)
This is probably one of my favorite beck songs of all time.
I've actually been trying to model some of my music around these types of Beck songs (also his songs from Mutations and Sea Change). I'd love to hear what you think-- check out my new music video on my channel.
love this song remembered from the movie love and other drugs.
at the time of a teen I had a decision to make to by the the beck cd or the bush cd and i bought the bush cd never liking that whole cd stupiidd. i guess im an adult now i should go out an by beck lol
One of my favorites by this nutty genius. It's been in my head the past couple days because it's in that movie "Love and Other Drugs." (Yeah, it's a chick flick, so what? A man has to make concessions sometimes. Like when I told her I enjoyed it.) Great song anyway.
@williamhowardstudio no no no, the sample comes from the song "Its All Over Now, Baby Blue" by Them which was a cover of a Bob Dylan song of the same name.
@williamhowardstudio Van Morrison rocks. THEM was an awesome band. I'm suprised they weren't as popular as the stones. They were better than the animals and the stones combined. I guess nothing's changed, popular music is still imitating the really good stuff but not getting it right.
Come on guys, MTV still shows videos! You just gotta get up at six in the morning, sift through the shitty thug rap, vocoder dance mixes, generic pop punk, realize you've wasted an hour and that you're dead inside, get the Drain-O under the sink, mix it with Grandpappy's miracle elixir (Whiskey and the sweat of an old Basset Hound) and drink your troubles away until you just can't feel anymore.
@movieonyoureyelids no, i obviously can't count or remember things correctly. I should research things properly before posting comments on YouTube. Thanks for taking the time to point out my failure, you've made the world a much better place.
@ErikPaulsonFan to make things worse, my wife's little sister (who is 18) considers Counting Crows to be "really really old, like oldies." I replied that i remember when MTV was worth a shit.
@Stazmo2 I grew up in Canada, so we didn't have MTV, we had Much Music, but I was always jealous of the Americans because MTV seemed superior.
Three summers in a row, I visited family in Cali, and noticed that every time we watched MTV, they only showed tv shows or interviews, but never music, which I thought was odd. The shows are good, though. Except for that Sweet 16 shit. Those kids should be killed.
@tigermoth13 LOL - good call . . . you may laugh, but I actually made a fortune betting on "mop racing" . . . you might say I really cleaned up betting on "mop racing"
@tigermoth13 actually, after giving this considerably too much thought, I've come to the conclusion that is not in fact mop "racing" . . . it's more like mop "track & field"
actually no, the sample that starts out in the beginning is from a cover of a Bob Dylan song called "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" by Them. I don't know where you guys are getting the Stones
@multivitamins4all hey bro, thanks much for posting these Beck Odelays...this is one of my faves off that album 2 but it's all wicked...i'm thinking the Stones people are reminded of Brian Jones' marimba in Under My Thumb, ie similar ostinato, you know?...take care...patrick *{*
@multivitamins4all Well, van Morrison can sound like Mick Jagger sometimes (or the other way around). And "It's all over now" is a Stones song. Maybe that caused the confusion.
that's the way I feel about this song too, shoot the whole album does.Darn Beck has other good stuff, but this will always be my fav album by him,not sea change, tho. it's good,it's not nearly as unique as this masterpiece.
Ahh. So relaxing, takes you back to those times where a worry wasn't even in existence. Miss those time, more than anything in the world. :) Thank you so much for posting this.
I know it is,but still one heck of a good song.Like this album,of Beck's best. Two of his idols are indeed Bob Dylan and Van Morrison,so it much of been a tribute to them.
this always takes me back to the days in town crier college we'd listen to this and mess around whilst we were supposed to be practising tri-corner hat wearing, "hey does anyone want to sniff glue and listen to beck ?"
at the time there was so little going on it seemed like "yeah we'll why not".
none of us guys ever qualified some even got chucked out for "feeble oh-yeah oh-yeahing"
looking back now my town crier/reggae-electro-fusion was to far ahead of it's time.
I love all of you for giving me thumbs up
