@sakaijibai This is the Guards Conversion Course for commanders (specialists and officers). For the commanders, they would go through BMT, followed by either Officer Cadet School or Specialist Cadet School. After graduation, those posted to Guards will go through GCC. For enlisted men, those posted to Guards units will go through a similar training called the Guards Advanced Infantry Training.
The good soldiers of [my country] fight the evil enemy of [opposing country]. If they die, they are heroes. What is the distinction between a hero and a hired killer?
The feeling of running up the stairways, words just can't describe. A step closer of being a Guardsman. Only a true Guardsman knows how it feels. The first time I ran up the stairs screaming "GUARDSMAN GUARDSMAN GUARDSMAN..." till the top, believe me I was proud to be one when I reach at the top of the building. Memories.
@kissd0m I was an 84mm specialist from 3 Guards 14th mono. My section carried the most impractical weapon that has been phased out only recently. the Guards 84mm sections carry their field packs which weigh around 20kg, rifle, LBV and the 20+ kg 84mm weapon (with nighthawk and accessories) during missions..the assistant carries the 4 rounds attached to their field pack which is much heavier than the 84mm weapon..so each person definitely carried a weight in excess of 40kg during missions.
@kissd0m I saw my company's 84mm and MG section trek through the hilly jungles of Brunei for 16 - 18km without any attrition. I don't believe my men or the MG team are stupid for carrying such a load. In fact, I have real respect for these men who brave the odds by pushing themselves and ensuring that they are ready to support a firefight when they are needed.
@kissd0m it doesn't like 30kg from the shape of their field bag. Not talk about other countries which I believe they are way bigger in size and go through tougher trainings for different requirements. My vocation require me to carry up to 65kg excluding LBV and trust me, it is impossible to be in a combat.
@kissd0m my load during NS was arguably 40-50kg... it was full of the 10 pack items, but more mission essential items. meaning things that we needed for a 3-4 days mission. that is excluding resupp, by the way, i was a MG asst, so if you factor in all the rounds for MG (500 rounds for asst), plus personal weapon's ammo, plus spare barrel (MG) plus MG wallet... i would say 40+ kg . Factor in your LBV and weapon...
@syafaell bro sign on haha! Confirm get in. If not, depends on your luck, see when the guards mono bmt ends and whether your the same intake as them, then you might have a chance of getting in. Lastly would be to enlist as mono intake.
@eugenechh fuck guards? fuck you back, you dare go bedok camp say it to their face anot first? i dare you to say it to my platoon. i dare you. as a matter of fact, anyone in the guards formation. don't act like a criticizing idiot, like you know everything and that NS was a waste of time for you and shit like that.
@kissd0m 30kg is not an exaggeration. It is the combined load of everything they are carrying on them, including LBV and weapon. It is also not uncommon to go into operations with 30 to 50kg of equipment.
@Chrisvalor it's misleading to say they carry 30kg without stating total load and dun tell me yr bullshit about reaching 50kg combat load, cose i serve in the army too and 50kg is not a practical combat load, only a stupid solider and commander do that.. you try carrying 50kg total combat load and tell me again if its practical to do that in operations, train hard, train smart..
@kissd0m US forces in Africa during WWII carried up to 60kg and British forces in the Falklands campaign carried up to 54kg. Paratroopers with fully rigged rucksacks can carry up to 50kg. A soldier is not stupid, like you suggested, if he/she carries 50kg worth of combat load. He/she is simply responding to mission requirements. If the mission requires it, you pack it. By the way, try it, its not that heavy once you get used to it. I am still training with 50kg rucks.
@eugenechh If anything, at least serve your country because you want to protect your family and your loved ones.. To deter the many potential aggressors who might make you talk their language and humiliate people close to you in front of your eyes. Do you serve your country for money? Or do you serve your country because you understand the importance of doing it?
@eugenechh Congratulation. You are one of the minority that cause Singapore to fall during WW2. Because of that your grandma was raped for 3years and 8 months by the japanese.
Disagree. Singapore fell because we were under colonial rule. Complaining during peacetime is normal. When the shit hits the fan you will stop complaining and your instinct will kick in to do what needs to be done.
Every guardsman will always remember these few things, when he jumps out of the chopper, the moment the instructor gives the "go" sign... The moment the downwash hits you, the feeling of going down the rope, and the moment you touch the ground. Unforgettable pure ecstasy.
seriously, CYBERPIONEERTV, PLEASE UPLOAD ALL THE CLIPS AT ONE GO OR SOMETHING!!! I'm gonna go back to school next week, may not have time to watch your videos anymore!!!
How to go to this course? are we chosen after we completed our BMT?

@kissd0m 30Kg should be the total load including rifles, backpack, etc. Back in 90s we have 10Km run for gds conversion, officer run with FBO.
