  • looks like you have been wasting a LOT OR using stretch magic or other stretchy things

  • @Jassy101Ms and how do i make my beads 6he same side?

  • @Jassy101Ms It's not really a waste. I only cut off about 3 inches at the end... and it makes the knot invisible which is worth it to me. As for same size... it's how you cut them and roll them. They need to be identical.

  • I love your bracelets! I make paper bead bracelets like this too and I was going to sell them at school to earn some extra cash. How much should I sell them for? I am selling to middle schoolers btw.

  • @pinkpolish72 Depends on how long they take you and how much you are willing to sell them for. I can't really give you a price. It depends on how fast you work and how valuable you view your work.

  • I make paper beads and let me tell you they take more than 2 hours. If you want them not to look like crap, you have to take your time and pay attention to it the detail and how they are rolled and the time it takes to put on your sealer and not just slap one coat on. And when you do hand detailing on the paper to get different effects, each step takes time. Now some may think that $15 is too high but if you really count up the cost per bracelet from start to finish, $15.00 can be justified.

  • @PACERGIRL68 Yeah, I posted this when I was still new and realized very quickly that it was a lot of work that I deserved payment for... so I decided on $15 being reasonable. I've seen paper beads that were not custom decorated selling for about $30 so I think my hand decorated ones are more than reasonable.

I had issues with that at first but now I realize I'm deserving of payment for my work. I just calculate/multiply my time spent by minimum wage and that's my pricing rule now.

  • I'm all for self-employment but I really think $15 for one bracelet is really costly. You are amazing at what you do, but I'd honestly only pay up to $5 for these bracelets.

  • @dfont143 That's fine, that's why I have a tutorial teaching people how to make their own.

  • Sorry meant to say that

  • @poojapatel131 That's very low considering they take nearly 2 hours to make. I charge $15 since that is minimum wage for two hours work.

  • To tell u the truth I would only pay 2 or 3 $ for the

  • on your video on how to make them u said mark the paper every half inch and make the triangle so i used every half inch and they r a lot smaller than what yours look like. would a inch e better?

  • @Strawberryluva13 These were half an inch and I held the paper vertically instead of horizontally. I switch it up to get a different result. They are the same size they are just a bit bulkier because the strip was longer since I cut the paper long ways.

  • I think 7.99 a piece

  • @Fluffydino6 I've decided on 15 a piece. They take more than an hour to make. Remember, I have to hand decorate each strip of paper, roll them, glaze them, glaze them again, then again. Then at the end string them. Each bracelet takes about an hour and a half which (for minimum wage pay) would be roughly 15 dollars.

  • they really look nice... I can't wait to try with the kids..

  • lovin the barbie dream house one!

  • what did u put over the beads???you coverd them with something??/mine look really messy in a bracelate and i dunno what to do.:/

  • @BracelatesMaker573 I glazed them. I used diamond glaze.

  • where do u get the glaze

  • @iluvbracelets Description.

  • I kno how to make paper beads, but your kinda sound like they're plastic! How do u make urs?

  • @Whiskers5251 The glaze I showed in the video/Wrote in the description.

  • I love these! My friend and I are selling them for $1.00 for one! We already went around selling them and we got $34 so far! This was awesome, especially the color combinations!

  • I would pay like... 10$ but I know how to make my own now ( thanks to you ) so I know how long it takes so I guess 15$ is ok

  • @berrysprinkle Yeah... That's why I charge a bit more. I teach free tutorials for people to make their own... so it's sort of my way of pushing them to make their own stuff. lol. I wouldn't go too crazy with prices but I think $15 is still pretty reasonable. I see the paper bead bracelets locally (in this store that collects handmade goods from other countries) and the bracelets there are selling for around $20 and they are just magazines- not hand decorated and individually made.

  • ok thank you

  • where can you buy the markers or sharpies you use for the bracelet?

  • @Luxygirl101 Office supply store... art stores maybe.

  • Lol sorry I did not know that and do u sell the beads that u make

  • @Samval1234 Yeah, sometimes I'll post them. I don't make them often since it can get tedious. The ones I have made are all posted on my StoreEnvy which is linked on my channel banner.

  • Can u sell or trade the paper beads and I would pay 2.50 each

  • @Samval1234 I charge $15 actually. I hand cut then decorate each strip of paper and spend lots of time glazing them... in all it's about an hour to an hour and a half.

$2.50 for nearly 2 hours of work is slave labor.

  • How do you end the bracelets.

  • @happypuppy1011 Surgeons knot at the end. I guess I could show it in a video eventually.

  • What do u string them onto

  • @The101Bracelets This .5mm elastic bead & jewelry cording.

  • Do you ever wear any of those out?

  • @soccerlover059 Lately I feel too awful to have things hanging on me... I get annoyed easily and jewelry just seems to make it worse Basically- feeling ill has been getting the best of me. My mother on the other hand has been wearing hers to work for about a year now.

  • $10 they are so amazing

  • @seshstarILY I actually bumped it to $15 just because each bracelet takes about an hour to complete.

Cut the paper... hand decorate the paper with markers... roll the paper... glaze the paper... glaze the paper again... glaze it a third time... wait for it to dry... string it up. Sometimes I get lucky and the beads go flying everywhere (Since I stretch the elastic to test if it will break on someone) and then I get to repeat the process again... So yeah... I decided $15 would be the price.

  • how can we add the clasp to the elastic?

  • @Juliacecilia1 You wouldn't want to use clasps with elastic, the elastic will stretch and be more likely to fall off of a clasp or slip out of a crimp end. Using elastic means you don't need clasps since it will stretch around your wrist.

  • my mom is not allowing me buy elastic till christmas but i want to make a paper bead bracelet. Can we use embroidery floss to make the paper bead bracelet?

    REPLY ASAP!

  • @Juliacecilia1 You couldn't stretch it around your wrist with embroidery floss. You'd have to tie it on or use clasps.

  • Sorry I could not make this a direct reply, but no, its the cylinder watermelon one and the Cotton candy one, not the green one. the cotton candy one. thanks.

  • @waterbottleyea Okay, good. I had made the cylinder watermelon one and then watched this video and I realized the very last bracelet (green and pink) could have also been a "watermelon" themed bracelet.

I actually goofed on trying to mimic the cotton candy one and made too few stripes so I'll need to re-do that one but the watermelon one is done already.

  • @BeyondBracelets aw. I'm sorry I caused you trouble.. =x, and I'm glad one of them is done. :) Can't wait! Lol

  • @waterbottleyea Nah, it's fine. I normally make "one of a kind" stuff since I'm usually just playing around with markers so sometimes it's hard for me to remember what I did. =x

  • @BeyondBracelets Lol. I love all your bracelets though. They're really pretty :D

  • @waterbottleyea Aw. Well, still. I'm TRYING to get it as close to the one you want as I can. It's more of a test for me, honestly. I want to be able to look at the paper beads and just remember what I did by looking at the finished product if I can.

  • @BeyondBracelets Lol. It's totally fine if it's off. I just like the colors. :)

  • @waterbottleyea Well... I guess I could just put them both on my Ebay and if you decide you don't like the one I could re-do it. I'll try to post them tomorrow sometime. Once you bid on them I'll close the listing and "sell to the high bidder" so you won't have to wait.

  • @BeyondBracelets okay. I'll keep my eyes open

  • Yup a lot of time n effort went into each n ever bead I think ur askin price is reasonable good luck

  • what string do you use to put the beads on? is it elastic

  • @ef4567023 It's just stretch magic .5 mm elastic cording, clear.

  • gosh how do u make them perfect ?????

  • @Strawberryluva13 I don't know... lol. I just play with colors... Roll them... Glaze them... String them... Done. =x

  • Thank you for a very good tutorial on making the paper beads. You did a great job. No backgound music is a big plus in my book. I can actually understand and hear what you are saying. Another great big plus in my book. And I can see everything that you are doing. Not so in many videos.

I do not think that $15 to $20 is too much to sell your bracelets. I can't believe you sold them for $5 or $6.

It is almost 2:30 AM and I don't want to go to bed. I want to make a neckless. Ha Ha,

  • @charsbabushka Yeah, I want to raise the prices but at first I was just trying to get people to realize it wasn't a scam or something (Ebay reputation and all.) and now I've been raising them. The bracelets I've been listing for 15 and the earrings at 12... If I did necklaces I think I might ask 25 or so. I always feel weird asking so much but the truth is a TON of work goes in to this stuff so it's pretty silly of me to practically give them away. Thanks for the affirmation on the price uppage.

  • Yes, that's correct. :) okay then. Thank you!

  • @waterbottleyea Hang on... the cylinder watermelon bracelet or the very last pink and green bracelet at the end... the one that matches the pink 'n blue cotton candy?

  • Hey lisa, I'm going to be out for a week or so so I won't be able to get the bracelets yet. But you can always comment when it's ready so I'll know. Thanks again!

  • @waterbottleyea That's perfectly fine... I haven't started them yet because I was working on someone else's order. I'll probably work on it within the week so I'll just send you a comment and let you know they're done. Cotton candy and watermelon, right?

  • I couldnt find any diamond glaze is clear tacky gluee good .

  • @360lovestar Anything with "Glue" in the title isn't going to be good. You need to glaze it and protect it. Glue is for bonding, not protecting. You'd be better off with nail polish at that point... or a can of acrylic lacquer.

  • love them! what size seed beads are those?

  • @jessiekay115 I made them 1/2 inch by 11 inches I believe.

  • @beyondbracelets wow thats just how long my bracelet is! Lol at least I hope it fits my mom :D lol

  • Hey wat is the standard size? Lolz just wondering :) p.s, I hope Christmas cones soon. Then I'll be able to buy a lot of stuff from you! :D lol

  • @waterbottleyea Well, my wrist is about 7.5 inches (average size) so I always measure it to myself to test if it's good or not.

  • @beyondbracelets I have a pretty small wrist, it's 14-15 cm. I made one myself and I made it WAY to big. Lol

  • @waterbottleyea Aw, lol. Okay. I'll make it about 16-17 just to make it a little loose for you. No one likes super tight bracelets... at least not beaded ones. You get indents in your skin, lol.

  • @BeyondBracelets haha kk yeah I have eczema and when it's to tight my whole arm gets itchy :(

  • @beyondbracelets yes!!! My dad said that I could buy two!! Can I gave the watermelon and the cotton candy? ( yummy lol) oh ya can I reach you at beyondbracelets@gmail.com

  • @waterbottleyea Okay, cotton candy one and a watermelon one... The only thing now is how big is your wrist? I make them pretty standard but that's only because I just make them without any particular person in mind... so I might as well go all out and make it fit you perfectly since it would be a custom order.

Also, yeah- that's my email which you can reach me at.

  • @ BeyondBracelets yes!!! I will buy some because my dad said I can buy two. Sorry I couldn't get to you sooner. Is it possible if you give me a watermelon and a cotton candy? (yummy lol) anyways ya… oh ya can I reach u at beyondbracelets@gmail.com?

  • Ya how do u finish them

  • @softballcraftgirl24 I make them, glaze them, string them on stretch cord and make a surgical knot to hold the stretch cord... then on top of the double surgical knots I make a normal knot just for good measure.

Also, I have this habit where I will always stretch it after I string the beads in to the bracelet/on the cord... I just like to make sure there are no weak spots in the elastic and the beads won't go flying everywhere when it stretches... especially if I'm going to be selling them. =x

  • How do you end the bracelets like do you tie a knot? Because there is no clasp or anything... Or maybe you hide the knot? Lol. I love all of ur bracelets mine sucks big time lol I wish I could buy some but you don't have anything on eBay at this moment..I also luv the cotton candy ALOT :) and I'd pay 8-10 I know how hard it is to make such bracelets ur actually really fast!! Lolz thanks and I look forward to all ur awesome bogs and tutorials!!

  • @waterbottleyea Well, I could surely make you one and post it on ebay special. Just tell me what you want and the colors, I'd happily make you something.

Anyway, for tying I use .5 mm stretch cord (stretch magic brand) and I do a surgical knot (two 'normal' knots which are flipped around three times instead of once) and then a normal knot to be extra safe. I snip off the excess and then just tuck the knot behind a bead... I stretch them and make sure they won't break and then sell 'em off. =x

  • what type of string do you use? is it okay to use the type of string for friendship braclets?

  • @MissThang436 You need to be able to stretch them in order to get them over your wrist.

I use 'Stretch Magic' .5 mm bead and jewelry cord.

  • it might just be the video but it looks like the beads are very smooth. when i make my beads they come out with ridges, like it looks like they have been rolled. how do you get them to be smoother looking?

  • @2332Ashley Three coats of diamond glaze. Mine have ridges as well but the glaze makes them smooth.

  • hey i loove you videos, i was wondering if you could like go in the shower or your pool with these bracelets, because im thinking of making paper bead bracelets and selling them for youth charities, but if they are restricted to stay outside of the water i think it might be a tough item to sell, thanks so much!

  • @maddyswim2199 No, you can't get them wet. If you splash them while washing your hands, or get caught in the rain, you'll be fine. You just can't submerge them fully... they're paper after all.

You can't really water proof them since the inside would need to be coated in order to make them waterproof and even them, one chip and the paper inside could get damp causing the coating to peel off.

  • just wonderin how do you make the beads so the colored stripes are so consistantly the same ?

  • @REPLPP101 I have a paper bead tutorial, I explain it there.

  • @itsrawalltheway ummm u asked how much i would pay.....well for something that u worked on that hard....i would pay...bout 9$-10$ cause i make them and it took me 3 days to make 1...but it was my first time to...sooo

  • @itsrawalltheway Yeah, they sell pretty well from my experience. I'm sure they'd do best at a flea market, though.

I've tried to sell them on Ebay but there is just so much competition online that the sales are very sporadic. I did well around Christmas but now I'm lucky if I sell one bracelet a month.

  • I love those bracelets so much I would def pay 15 if that was the price :) their handmade which makes them more special

  • What type of string do you use to make the bracelets?

  • @sourpuss1234 Just normal stretch cord.

  • hi just want to know if u finish to rolled the paper bead and what u will do next?i want to know if what type of polish or color on that paper bead.thanx

  • @glamourpho I have a video on how to make them.

  • its okay ill stick to nail polish

  • Not to be rude or something but could you reply a bit sooner i have to make three paper beads bracelet for my friend and i have to give it to them tomorrow

  • @Magelordnegi I already replied four hours ago.

I SAID: "The glaze used on polymer clay" is a bit broad- from what I've seen there are TONS of types of glaze. You need to be more specific.

You telling me "the glaze for polymer clay" isn't enough information- what type of glaze? What brand? What is it made out of? Is it acrylic? Is it water based? What glaze. I can't reply if you don't give me adequate information about what you plan on using.

  • Okay how about sclupey gloss glaze or satin glaze

  • I wish i could use diamond glaze but i cant my wont buy for me no matter what ive been use clear nail polish (o.p.i brand) and glitter nail polish and it smells but i just ignore the smell and nail is a bit weak and i was wonder if you could use the glaze that you put on polymer clay to seal it please reply back

  • @Magelordnegi "The glaze used on polymer clay" is a bit broad- from what I've seen there are TONS of types of glaze. You need to be more specific.

  • Thanks for the video it is great you explain everything so well your bracelets are loverly hope mine come out looking as good as yours

  • Can you please post a video of how the paper looks after you color it and before you cut it? I just want to know what it looks like

  • @LoveHelloKitty822 I cut it and then I color the strips.

  • those are awesome!!!! how do you make them lines with black like that? i know how to make the colors change i just don't know how to make the little black part around the edges. great video and tutorial 4 them! i already started making some :D also, do you put 3 coats of the diamond glaze or 4 coats? i have been putting 4 coats on mine but am also finding that the glaze is running out very quickly :( THANK YOU!!!!

  • @Horseluvr823 To make stripes you just make "stripes" along the edge of the paper from base to tip. I make mine about two inches at the base and an inch close to the tip.

If you space them properly it should appear to be striped. The closer you get to the pointed tip, the less of a stripe you need. Make the base of the triangle strip the biggest ones and gradually make them smaller.

Just keep the last 1 inch of the paper one color if you can help it so the tip looks uniform.

    Also, 3 coats.

  • so you wait until it drys and then take it off??

  • @MissAlyson22 Yeah. But don't let it dry TOO long. It needs to be newly dry (about 10 minutes) in order to get it off the toothpick successfully.

When I started I left them about 2 hours and they were stuck to the toothpick.

What I do now is let them dry until JUST dry and then twist them slightly to loosen them from the toothpick and then I give it another 5 minutes.

  • I would pay $7. B.T.W. what tipe of string do you use for these?

  • @SkyStar446 I use stretch cord. 4mm, I believe.

As for how much you'd pay... I'm still working on the pricing sort of but I was thinking more along the lines of $12.00 as my final price.

Unlike other paper beads I spend time hand decorating the strips (others use scraps) then I have to roll them up, glaze them 3-4 times to get them perfect, then assemble them with the glass beads.

It all takes over an hour and a half to finish one little bracelet so I think I'm settled on the price now.

  • OMFG THOSE ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Can you PLEASE post a tutorial??

  • @LoveHelloKitty822 I have a tutorial on paper beads, the only difference is that I didn't show how to color them. To color them, just use permanent marker on the strips before rolling them.

  • very cute bracelets! I agree that you should raise your prices. I've done a lot of reading about pricing handmade goods since I also have that question about my own etsy shop. I've read that the very minimum you should pay yourself for your labor is $10 an hour. Add supplies to that and any other expenses and you have your wholesale price. Double that and you have your retail price which is the price you should be selling it for on etsy or any other place you are selling them.

  • @QHoneyB Thanks for the info.

I always feel like I'm ripping people off so I try to keep my pricing low but sometimes factoring in the work involved and time spent making the jewelry turns 'reasonable' pricing to slave labor in the end.

  • i love the black and blue one

  • @LusciousApril Yeah, that one popped a lot. I was surprised!

My boyfriend loved it, too. I asked if he wanted it but he said it was a little TOO bright. Haha.

  • What?! These are made out of paper? They look awesome!!

  • @TheChocolateBerry Yeah, they're just rolled up strips. =D

  • i missed*

  • oh and how meany beads do u put in a bracelet because im miss my cusins b-day day shes kinda young to thouhgt this would be good for her and her lil sis cause you know ya cant forget anyone lo lXD

  • @irishgrl44 Well, what I do is measure it as I string them up.

So yeah, just put a clip at the end of the stretchy cord (which really is the best for these- clasps look ugly) and then just string up your beads and measure as you see fit.

I normally go for 7-7 1/2 inches for "adult" size but If she's got a little sister I'd say maybe a 5 1/2 inch "long" bracelet.

  • @BeyondBracelets ok thx that helped alot :) ur so nice

  • @irishgrl44 No problem. Good luck with your bracelets!

  • @BeyondBracelets thx and you too!

  • @irishgrl44 Bead roller was from ebay- but it can be bought from paperbeadgirl(dot)com

The stretch cord is just from the art store- walmart has it as well.

As for the tutorial, you're very welcome.

P.S. Nail polish does stink, acrylic sealant is the best for the beads.

  • @BeyondBracelets thx so much for all the great ideas and i think it wounderfull that you make and sell them :)

  • @irishgrl44 Yeah, it's a nice thing to keep me occupied and people seem to like them. Around Christmas one lady bought 4 of them at once! She cleared out half my stock ahah. =D

    Anyway, you're very welcome!

  • @BeyondBracelets thats great keep it up ^_^

  • where did you get the bead roller?

  • i am making some but i dont have anything to glase them i tryed nail polish but they really stink :/ and thxs for the how to love all ur paper bead bracelets

  • oh and where did u get the strech cord?

  • how did u make the blue and black beads?

  • @irishgrl44 You just make stripes along the edges of the triangle strip.

  • Wow those are so cool, how do you make them? You're so talented :))

  • @698choco698 I cut triangle strips of paper, decorate the individual strips for a specific pattern and then I roll them up around a toothpick (or at least I did until I got a paper bead rolling tool). I still glaze them on toothpicks individually for a nice even coat, though. It's a LOT of work but they come out really pretty.

So yeah, cut triangle strips from paper, decorate, roll them up with a dab of glue at the tip of the triangle, glaze them, glaze them again, glaze them a third time.. etc

  • I love the bracelets! They are very stylish! Keep up the awesome work!!

  • @TheMilklover3 Aw, thanks!

  • Nice!!!

  • @Oscar307975 Thank you.

  • @BeyondBracelets Your welcome you deserve it!!
