  • @pumbaa19 The dance terms are easier for dancers.

  • @pumbaa19 hahahahahahahahahaha hahahaha! this shit made my day! I was like da fuck?

  • @pumbaa19 It depends on how you're mind remembers things. It's easier to remember two 8 counts, but then trying to remember what to do with each of those counts is something else. The "rock step kick step kick hitch kick step " actually is rhythmically counting off what you're doing with your feet. It depends on how you think (with numbers more than words or vice-versa).

  • @ImpossibleIsNothin well my mind works like a calculator... im all about the numbers...

  • Could you people number the parts for newbies who cannot dance? This refers to steps some of us haven't learned.

  • @pumbaa19 yep it its eaiser. Any sequence i'm learning if I can call the moves it is much eaiser to memorize.

  • you making up your own steps?

  • very helpful

  • @pumbaa19 rock step kick step kick hitch kick step is easier, then 1-2-3-4...because it is a description what your feet have to do...no reason to say bitch...you primitive!

  • @foamie7 OMG... im primative just because a called a female a bitch... you must be a feminist... go get laid so you can loosen up your attitude....... BITCH!!!

  • I live in charleston and I JUST find out there is a dance after it?! this is MADNESS!!!

  • Thanks a lot. That's great :)

  • You wanna see some Charleston? Watch "Its a Wonderful Life." Theres a Charleston-off scene that's priceless.

  • There is 20's and 40's Charleston. This is the version that became popular in the 1940's alongside Lindy Hop. Also, the action should not come from lifting the knee when kicking (the knee should lift, but not as high as they are showing it.) Originally, partner Charleston (from the 20's) was done facing each other, just offset a little. There were two types: Uptown (where Harlem and the Savoy Ballroom were located), and Downtown (Done mostly in Caucasian Ballrooms).

  • I've been told foot in the air at 7 :/ but it looks better if it's down

  • This is the step version. The break version has a "broken nee" and lots of classic Dance Music moves came from it like heel toe side "walking" Jump Style, DnBStep, CripWalk. Yes the less glamourous but original Charleston derived nonetheless.

  • thanks guys! i'm a beginner, trying to remember what i learned at last night's lesson. this helps a great deal!
