I truly hope these lives were not wasted and there is real change, and those who have invoked cruelty, corruption, and oppression against the people of Egypt (and anyone in the world) are held responsible. Right now its depressing, the army still has power and they are just power-hungry looking to maintain their position, I truly hope all the Egyptian people's sacrifices and efforts are sucessful in bringing freedom and justice, your an inspiration for the whole middle-east.
Honestly I am not the kind of person to watch videos on youtube and then sit around and cry, but its hard not to feel emotional looking at those pictures of young guys who gave their lives for freedom, I mean they look like my brothers, classmates and the youth and optimism they represent verse the delusional cruel face of the dictators and government officials...I mean its just disheartening that they lost their lives while the oppressors live on like kings.
If anyone isnt crying their eyes out by the end of this.... i could only think of one statement which sums this up... "GIVE ME LIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH"...
What an incredible man. Truly dedicated to the betterment of his people without self interest. One rarely encounters such an evolved soul, and to see it in one so young is phenomenal . I am over 50, and I am seldom moved by TV clips, but I have to admit that I was sobbing myself before it was over. Peace be with you, Wael.
Wow this moved me in so many different ways i cant explain... this man has a beautiful soul. God bless him and free Egypt from that son of a bitch Mubarak
Thumbs up from people of PAKSITAN. This proves that if people collectively make an effort with good intentions and faith in Allah, then surely they have the power of collapsing down any government. no matter how strong or no matter US backs it up or any else. The problem Egypt faces is one way or the other the same problem of all muslim countries i-e we don't have government that is loyal to the country instead they are loyal to West and killing its own people. Proud 2 B Muslim ALHAMDULILLAH

thank you again MCalifornia for your contribution for this amazing revolution. in the end this is will be knowing by the INTERNET REVOLUTION, and we all in the world are helping thus in Egypt.
Currently sitting safely outside of Egypt by evacuation, and all I can possibly give these people is my greatest respect. Having witnessed the protests until many days after the infamous Friday, I can honestly say that the media make these people look like nothing more than the scum of the uneducated, and monsters. What really has been happening is far from anything the media might tell you, and at this point I can only offer those who continue to protest my respect and the greatest of luck.
This youths are the future of Egypt. Hosni Mubarak is the past. It's wrong for the future to pay the price for the power-craziness of the past. It should'nt be. In Egypt or any other countries.
Do you know what happened to the 1989 guy inTienanmen square, the boy in front of the tanks? i cannot find anything and was often wondering if he is alive
@evasassy That person was never identified and no one knows what became of him. There was a report in a British tabloid that purported to name him, but the author later said that the report was in error and that he had no information as to the identity of the man. Although we may never learn what happened to him, it is more likely than not that he survived b/c if the Chinese govt. had caught him, they would have made a public example of him.
@evasassy You're welcome! I am glad that at least some people around the world remember the brave protesters in Tiananmen Square, because the Chinese people, in their rush to make money, seem to have forgotten all about them.
This man is a living hero, like the many other in Tahrir Square, They are making history, such a powerful cry for freedom, it has the power to touch the soul of any human being, it is about the most fundamental human right, freedom. He is a free man, and Egypt is a free country. This is a great cry for freedom. Respect for this country and these people.
This part of the interview is heartbreaking. Very emotional stuff. This guy is just a humble lad with some computer skills, thrust into an event that was bigger than him. They tried to break him. And in this interview he does break, but I really think it made him come out even stronger. This is the leader you're looking for. A true testament to those who have given their ultimate sacrifice.
My God - all of these people are heroes - god bless them and their struggle - all people with any feelings or decency are with them - all over the world!!!

I have grown absolutely disgusted with the United States and Barack Obama. People in Egypt and crying and dying for democracy and the autocrats will not allow it. Obama's position is Mubarak's...I cannot imagine the pain this young man is grieved with. He doesn't deserve to have his integrity or intentions questioned... THEY DO!
@HKGJOHN We can throw alot of blame around but at the end of the day the main culprit is Mubarak and his thugs. To put this on Obamas feet i feel is a bit unfair.
Even if mubarak would move out, personally i dont see any other party in egypt that can rule egypt and would be favorable to public and to everybody! Egyptian opposition groups have now met only to step down mubarak but what after that what about the future! Do they have any plans? Would egyptian modern girls/women agree to any decision made by islamic brotherhood if they take over to force women to wear Hijab/scarf? Etc etc etc... Are all egyptians want to fight and declare war on israel tomo
I want to say that millions of Americans, like me, cry with Wael Ghonim. I hope that the politicians drop support for the old regime, and do the right thing -- support Egypt's future enthusiastically.
what amazes me is Mona has for the first time in her life tried to be honest and fair, she always defended the system and ridiculed opposition figures on her show like alberadei, but in this interview she has actually been wonderful, there is hope people, there is hope.
My heart melted and my unconscious hatred towards all people (instilled by the media) melted in the first instant that I saw Wael bow his head and weep the way Joseph in times past wept on the necks of his brothers whom he loved. I pray that the Lord would bring forgiveness from the people and that He visit Ghonim in a special way and bless his spirit which is deeply imbued in love.
I cannot understand his tongue nor he mine, but that love he manifested binds us and we are one.
@Imforeverone88 That was a beautiful prayer. I'm not a religious man but I do believe I met your words and Wael's compassion on a metaphysical plane, soaring high above the wailing and the screaming of mankind. I think we're all in a way coming closer to one another. I can't wait 'til my generation take over the reigns of this planet. I believe we've shown that we can do a better job.

CIA stunt. I know it is because the commentator and Wael are invoking nationalism, which has no moral compass. The commentator also, while showing pictures said these were not youths crushed by poverty and bleakness.... ...even though that is exactly who they were.
All my hopes are for Egyptian freedom fighters to win and overthrow the detestable Mubarek regime. The whole regime stinks to high heaven, including Suleiman.
But thank God for brave souls like this young man. I can see he is the real heart of Egypt.
No offense but everyone who thinks the egyptian youth is so much better than any other youth in the world due to their circumstances is just speaking out of reversed racism. the shit that happens down there is not right and i feel very much for Wael, but in the first place he and all the others that suffer are humans, and thats why they acted like they do, and this needs to be acknowledged for it, and not their nationality. I sincerely hope for them that the future holds a better place for them
I think egypt is destined for great things, i got quite emotional watching the photos of the young people whose lives have been terminated by tyranny, they are shuhadaa, and God will reward them, whatever their faith was, muslim, christian, atheist, agnostic whatever. I hope mubarak goes go hell, wata7ya masr, umm dunya kuliha.
I amnot egyptian, but watch it,my heart so feel hurt. Crying, n just send pray from far #Tahrir for my friends of moslem. Now I know what a freedom ,they want...
To be very frank, I never went to Egypt, I don't know any egyptians personally, I don't have a family background in the middle east and until some weeks ago, all I knew about Egypt's history was events that happened a couple of thousands of years ago. And in spite of all of this, I just have been brought to tears by this man, and by all the actions of the young egyptians in the street right now.
you are just fighting for your country, and maybe the focus of the fight and the energy you must spend in it keep you from seeing the effect your voices have around the world.
Not only Egypt will be a freer country because of you, but this Earth will be a freer world because of you. People all around the world see you and get inspired to believe it's possible to demand freedom and get it. The world is in debt with you, and I hope you will all be paid soon.
@rafaelcalsaverini In Egypt we say "Egypt is the mother of the world", that's because it used to give a lot to all countries around it in the past. Now we're robbed of our freedom, but God willing, we will take it back. Unfortunately I'm not in Egypt right now, but that, I hope, allows me to speak freely because I wouldn't be accused of bragging when I say that although my people have given very little to the world recently, in the past two weeks they've given it hope and inspiration.
Being an Egyptian used to embarrass me sometimes ever since I came to live in the UAE. Egyptians were looked down upon by the arrogant, oil rich, snobs. They made me feel like Egyptians were beggars coming to their country to take their jobs. Egyptians were broken because of Mubarak to accept any job with any salary. Wael Ghoneim and the likes have renewed my faith in my country and my love for it. We are a strong people that were marginalized by a big dog. Thank you Wael for your work!!
@MsTheartofwar Great, a lot of arabs are made to feel inferior when we go to the gulf, even with western passports, you are not alone, but the future is bright, and egypt will pull through and will be victorious, i am praying for massr and its people. Good luck

@juansu2 You better go soon....before islamists take over. He is crying because he knows he instigated people to destabilize a country, people got killed because of it and God knows what will happen in future...islamists could very well do the same thing he did, and demand islamic government, implement sharia and egyptians could end up like Iran after the revolution.
@moshigirl1 The egyptian people will have the goverment they want. If they want an islam goverment it will be right, and if they don't want a islamist goverment they'll fight this don't happen. But, all along this 15 days I only saw egyptian people islamist, christians, atheos, I didn't see radical people. The only radicals were the people send by governmet, so I think the egyptian people will know what they have to do. And I listened to a young man say that they dont want any dictatorial go..
@moshigirl1 ...and I listened to the people say that it were not a religious or political revolution, It was the PEOPLES REVOLUTIONS, ALL TOGETHER, All walks of life people are together, and I could see the people know what they want: FREEDOM, I think this word say everything, don`t you?
I have never been to egypt, but ever since this started I have been amazed at the courage egyptian people have. I have marveled at the language and the power and determination of its people.I will visit the country as soon as Mubarak leaves. The world is with you, Egyptians !
@francisco8104 I also never been to Egypt before. I always wanted to go. Few months ago i said to my friend if Mubarak is gone i will go to Egypt, Little did i know what was going to happen in the future. InshaAllah i can't wait to go and visit this great Country and his Great People. I am so proud of all of the Egyptians who are fighting for their rights. May Allah swt free them from Mubarak and every single one of the evil ppl in the goverment.
Words are not enough. What a powerful, mind blowing experience to watch this young man pour out his soul. This is raw and the truth. Respect and love to all those who sacrifice everything for freedom. The world will never be the same after January 25th 2011.

Words are not enough. What a powerful, mind blowing experience to watch this young man pour out his soul. This is raw and the truth. Respect and love to all those who sacrifice everything for freedom. The world will never be the same after January 25th 2011.
