The song is originally from the Broadway musical "The Civil War - Our Story in Song". In the original cast the lead singers were Michael Lanning and Gene Miller. I cried during this song every time I saw the show!!!
This, with the exception of your "Into the Fire" and "One Day More" (found on your website), is the BEST "Lord of the Rings" video that has ever been made. It makes me cry, it makes me smile. It's phenomenal.
(Please, please, please finish "The Scarlet Pimpernel" collection. Just for the love of Sir Percy Blakeney, Baronet.)
Wow, what an amazing video. I'm a dancer and my dance studio is redoing one of our old dances for our 25th anniversary this year to this song, and I not only love this song, but LOTR, I'd never have come up with the idea to put the two together, great job.
As someone who LOVES the "Civil War" musical and someone who's favorite movie is LOTR, this was phenomenal. I never would have thought about putting the two together. I'm so glad you did! Awesome video!
Uhhh...I'm the first vocalist on the soundtrack for this (Union Cap'n Lochran at your service) and whatever LOTR stands for, it's weirdly awesome or awesomely weird....I can't decide.....wow.....
This is one of the best LOTR vids I have ever seen, and I'm being sincere. The song fits LOTR so well, that if it weren't for the line that said, "for the dixie that I know" I would have felt it was written especially for LOTR. You did a very good job of aligning the clips with the lyrics, and the is just as enjoyable and emotional as ROTK itself.
All of your vids are done with such amazing quality, and I'm happy that you've posted them on youtube.
This is soooo well done!!! Perfectly thought out. Such a beautiful piece!

This is actually from an off-broadway musical called "The Civil War." Great stuff.

@bnsfjake I found the music at my local library. It is from a Civil War documentary, I believe.
