The song is originally from the Broadway musical "The Civil War - Our Story in Song". In the original cast the lead singers were Michael Lanning and Gene Miller. I cried during this song every time I saw the show!!!

This is one of the best LOTR vids I have ever seen, and I'm being sincere. The song fits LOTR so well, that if it weren't for the line that said, "for the dixie that I know" I would have felt it was written especially for LOTR. You did a very good job of aligning the clips with the lyrics, and the is just as enjoyable and emotional as ROTK itself.
