bravo! bravo! encore! encore! truely inspiring, both to watch and listen. I read your book twice - such a beautiful way to honour Mrs Sivan - just as your playing does. I looked at your hands as i listened and thought of Mrs Sivan. what a teacher! what a student!. thank you for putting this up for us to enjoy.
Yundi Li and Valentina Lisitsa are two of my favorites on this, but this was also well played.
What I notice with really good concert pianists is the note separation. Some such as Murray Perahia use technique that is close to staccato (but not staccato) to get a more pearly sound (The notes sound clearer with good spacing in note separation and no semi-ghost notes. The difference in articulation is minimal but noticable).
Nicely done. Your book is excellent, too. Through your book I have learned from Mrs. Sivan, too. I try to listen to what the sounds tell me after, but so far they do not speak to me. Maybe someday.
This is awesome. You are really good. I am using your book for a book report in 6th grade. It's really good. Don't ever give up on piano. You're really good.
Beautiful Anna. Lush and spontaneous. I almost felt as if you were improvising. I am an aspiring piano player composer and teacher. (probably more like the Jazz muso in your book than Mrs Sivan at this stage). I am half way through your book and it's really helping me in every department. Thanks to you and Eleanora. Mike in Canberra.
Wow....I've just finished Piano Lessons...wonderful book, and that is truly beautifully played. It makes me wish I'd applied myself more to piano, I'll never play that well - but it I'm glad that I can play, it gives me joy :)
I'm not a professional, but I listen very well ... Everything is perfect in here : romantic but not too much, great smooth an velvety sound, calm, lyric, sober. All we want of a great nocturne. Thank you !
Anna, I'm a 38 year old that started taking piano lessons 1.5 years ago. I just read your book Piano Lessons - A Memoir, and enjoyed it. I was happy to find your performance here. Truly wonderful. Best wishes! Jim from the U.S.
ANNA ~ Beautiful, so restrained and very artistic, thank you ~ Here's wishing you a brilliant success at tonight's gala concert for your Washington DC Embassy! ANDY
I loved reading your book, I wish I could have a teacher like Mrs Sivan.

Hello. I have enjoyed tremendously watching you play this piece. Are you currently teaching? If so, whereabouts do you teach?

Chopin composed this with an opera voice in mind.
