There was a time here in Canada, and probably in all democratic countries, when equal time was the operating priciple in media treatment of political candidates. Moneid candidates can buy whatever TV time they want; but media sponsored debates were required to give equal time to all candidates. This ensured that the public would be able to hear points of view that they might not otherwise have known about. I do not know if it was a law. Those days are long gone.

Unfortunately, since YouTube isn't publically owned, they do have the right to make up their own rules, even if they offend people. Mike Gravel is probably one of the ONLY voices of reason in this silly campaign, so I'm not at ALL for him being silenced, but there's not much we can do, other than to complain. They're about as likely to listen to the will of the people as Bush is.

There was a time here in Canada, and probably in all democratic countries, when equal time was the operating priciple in media treatment of political candidates. Moneid candidates can buy whatever TV time they want; but media sponsored debates were required to give equal time to all candidates. This ensured that the public would be able to hear points of view that they might not otherwise have known about. I do not know if it was a law. Those days are long gone.
