@Iznikroc I never said graffiti was born from hip-hop. You in fact are mistaken with you're information about graffiti. It has been widely accepted that cave paintings and the like are the first real form of graffiti. The earliest know cave paintings are around 30,000-35,000 years old. The Chauvet in France is believed to be the home of the oldest cave painting. Looks like there's no need for me to take night classes after all.
@spacepine I think you better hurry up before add/drop ends. Graffiti is defined by writings and drawings illicitly scratched on walls of public places. Those caves were not public spaces anthropologists concluded that those caves were sacred and the drawing were ritualistic, a form a sympathetic magic enacted by early man to score a big kill. these were images were not illicit they were encouraged cause in early mans mind it was a matter of life and death....im not done yet
@spacepine also there have been other theories saying those paintings were star charts, the products of trance dancing, and even a narrative with a symbolic language one scientist is trying to decipher to this day. Just because it's on a wall does not mean it's graffiti. I suggest you take art history 101 and 102, you might learn something.
@Iznikroc There is disagreement among scholars and anthropologists as to whether or not sacred cave drawings are in fact graffiti. As you stated, they were encouraged. Let's say that they in fact are not graffiti by definition. That does not mean that they are not recognized as such. Most graffiti artists consider cave drawings to be the birth of graffiti. Those artists in my eyes are the experts on the subject. My personal library has both art history and graffiti books. no need for 101, 102.

I have to deal with the same thing when I attend metal concerts and my cello lessons. Way I see it, this life is ours to live, so if we can find living in this song, in metal, or classical. Then I say embrace it.
Fuck you shravanbhat and 1ewis, people like or dislike if they want. We can express ourself, so stop ask pour thumbs ups with your " 48 dislikes are that or that" and just listen the music
Time for school boyz and girlz. Hip-hop is a culture comprised of breakdancing, graffiti art, DJ-ing, and rapping (emceeing). This beautiful song may be referred to as hip-hop music in regards to the cultural heading it belongs to, however, it is not a hip-hop song, it is a rap song. There are too many rap style subcategories this song could fit into to accurately label it, therefore it would be placed under the broad category of alternative rap (alt-rap). Does what I just said really matter? NO
@spacepine Yeah it does, And i apprechiate your argument, cause in all honesty, people argue defending their "Label." and are ignorant and would rather fight over their "pride" and don't realize how dumb they sound.. "i listen to underground... you probly listn 2 wayne name 5 old artist" and want attention.. throwin freestyle on some memrizD video, focus on fame n word play the rhymes create their lyrics, arn't benefiting the world in any way. Proving & Explaining = WAIST OF TIME /knowledge
@ThaLabratory Not a Wayne fan myself. I prefer Tricky or Kid Beyond. The fact is, this is a rap song. Knowing whether or not it falls under hip-hop or rap truly doesn't matter though. It's a wonderful beautiful song and it's irrelevant if it's mainstream or underground, hip-hop or rap. Side note, it would be refreshing to hear Wax Tailor or Aesop Rock thump'n 2 12's once in awhile instead of Lil Wayne or 50 cent. In my ride I rock The Glitch Mob and DJ Shadow with some Tom Waits on the side.

NO" was my way of conceding to what ever title, genre, or classification this song falls under, because no matter it's heading it's still and awesome song.
