Despite how ridiculous the movie was, this is a really good rendition of "Jesusita en Chihuahua"! Maybe it's not my place to say it, but dancing to this great music while firing six-shooters looks REALLY fun! I'm Scottish-Dutch-English-Irish-German and my ancestors never did anything this cool when partying (and, yes, I'm aware this movie depicts a stereotype).

Germans didn't bring this "style" to Mexico, we invented this and other styles using elements of Polka music mixed with our own pre-exiting Rancheras, Corridos, Sones, Mariachi and Conjuntos. @xm377Moyocoyatzin I think you are wrong in saying that there is NO polka influence in this video. This is a classic mexican polka, one of my favorite songs along with Las Perlitas. The music might be mariachi but the song is a polka, just as mariachi music has a repertoire of sones, jarabes, waltz ect ect. Maybe you should rethink your statement.
@theulmer I didn't hear any true polka elements so if you say there are then point them out. People who don't know Mexican Music very well always mistake and confuse Mariachi music with Banda or Norteño music which is what a lot of Mexicans listen to out loud when driving obnoxiously in pickup trucks in the U.S.: Also this particular song sounds a bit weird, after all it's hollywood and not really Mexico.

Most polkas are going to come from the northern part of mexico its just each region has it own type of music. I think I can say I know how to tell the difference between each type of music as I love mexican music. But you're right ppl can be obnoxious with music along with rap and hip hop I cant stand it. But you know for hollywood this song is spot on mariachi music
@theulmer I admit I don't know much about Polka music itself and from just browsing videos on YouTube about it it seems far more broad than I expected. Maybe you are right, most of the Mariachi I am used to hearing comes from Jalisco and some from the Huasteca style. Apart from Mariachi Loco I had never really heard this particular beat. Its very hard to track styles because they all seem overlap with one another, especially in Mexico.
@xm377Moyocoyatzin If you dont know much might I suggest you look into eltuco25 page on yt. You will listen to the different types of songs mariachis will play. search for "el conteno mariachi" on the search bar and that is a foxtrot played by mariachis. I think it will give you a better idea of what mariachis can play. Heck marachis didnt even use trumpets till the 30's, so I think more recent music overlaps and not so much the older music. enjoy!

@xm377Moyocoyatzin I think you are wrong in saying that there is NO polka influence in this video. This is a classic mexican polka, one of my favorite songs along with Las Perlitas. The music might be mariachi but the song is a polka, just as mariachi music has a repertoire of sones, jarabes, waltz ect ect. Maybe you should rethink your statement.

@theulmer I didn't hear any true polka elements so if you say there are then point them out. People who don't know Mexican Music very well always mistake and confuse Mariachi music with Banda or Norteño music which is what a lot of Mexicans listen to out loud when driving obnoxiously in pickup trucks in the U.S.: Also this particular song sounds a bit weird, after all it's hollywood and not really Mexico.

@xm377Moyocoyatzin Well polkas are going to differ from country to country but like I said before this is a classic mexican polka. Most polkas are going to come from the northern part of mexico its just each region has it own type of music. I think I can say I know how to tell the difference between each type of music as I love mexican music. But you're right ppl can be obnoxious with music along with rap and hip hop I cant stand it. But you know for hollywood this song is spot on mariachi music

@theulmer I admit I don't know much about Polka music itself and from just browsing videos on YouTube about it it seems far more broad than I expected. Maybe you are right, most of the Mariachi I am used to hearing comes from Jalisco and some from the Huasteca style. Apart from Mariachi Loco I had never really heard this particular beat. Its very hard to track styles because they all seem overlap with one another, especially in Mexico.

@xm377Moyocoyatzin If you dont know much might I suggest you look into eltuco25 page on yt. You will listen to the different types of songs mariachis will play. search for "el conteno mariachi" on the search bar and that is a foxtrot played by mariachis. I think it will give you a better idea of what mariachis can play. Heck marachis didnt even use trumpets till the 30's, so I think more recent music overlaps and not so much the older music. enjoy!
