I have good friends of mine who are Mexican and they are good people. Both our countries have been looked down upon and I hope we both prevail. Take a look in the mirror you FRESA. You're no different than us!
there wasting there oil to fast it should be a steady 3 bucks for gallon sell oil and get money for wind/solar power etc. also they should spend 50% on military
Huh? Who is spending the oil to fast? Don´t make a mess about this terms, we spend much less than Americans darling, acctually our oil consunption is small if we compare to the real "spenders".
The Real potential of Pre-sal is 100 Billion barrels of oil or much more nobody knows...but Brazil doesn´t want to sell crude oil but petroleum-derived.
calma itscarlbar ......a gente comprou a Budweiser ........quem sabe com essa crise toda nao compramos a Texaco... a Shell ........ ou quem sabe a MC Donalds .........hehehehe !!!
The Brazil also is the seventh largest economy in the world, according to the UN, it will be the third in 20 years. Its the 5th country that invests more in the U.S.. Its the country which has fallen more social inequality and violence across the West since 1990.The Brazil has the fifth largest population in the world, the sixth largest army, the fifth largest territory, 35% of fresh water, 45% of animal and plant species and has the fourth largest coastline in the world.
Orpusdei, see what European governments did to Subsaharian Africa and you will get my point. For decades Frenche governments and other states have supported coups and explored the countries' soil without minding the environment or local peoples' interest. Even european governments' "holier than thou" aproach to US seem ridiculous to me.
Babarossa, I'm glad you got my point. So let me correct myself - my criticism is towards north american GOVERNMENT and POLICIES, not the country as a whole.
American foreign policy is not badass, it is just silly. As for the Amazon, it is our own problem. We dont go cutting palms in Iraq and the come back preaching on others. North American oil companies have been in South America for a while and the destruction they did in the Peruvian jungle, for instance, was huge. They are doing the same in Nigeria and many other places. So if you have criticism towards illegal logging in Brazil first go see what the US has been doing around the world. Bye.
"Brazil needs to stop destroying the Amazon basin forest"
Considering the fact that the US and Europe are always invading and destroying OTHER peoples' countries, and that the US and Europe have actually put the world into the present f... situation, then I guess they shoul just stay well away from Brazil and let us deal with the rainforest problem - because everytime north americans and europeans try to mingle in other peoples' business, s.. happens.
Well said. I am an American, and I couldn't agree more. I would also add that the proper response might also add, "Americans need to stop being the world's largest energy hogs and stop dumping more pollutants than any other country into the atmosphere."
There is also the fact not reported is that Petrobras has an independent baord of directors and is listed on foreign stock exchanges giving more money and flexibility as well as expertise.
I heard the world relies on the Amazon basin in someway to keep us from the effects of global warming. That is why the democrates in the U.S are against more oil drilling happening om U.S. soil. They are for using what is available.
I think there is much more oil to be find in Brazil /lets hope its not also under the rainforest..o))/. but it will take many years and huge amount of money to bring it on the market
Wow, what have you been smoking, and where can I get it? I know that America is badass and everything, but please. At least be accurate about our proclivities...
That could be possible. If you look back at history the U.S. government toppled several leftist governments in Latin America even those that were elected. The U.S. then propped up vicious rightist dictators. This is a a reason why there is still bitterness between South American countries and the U.S. To the U.S. government "it was a necessary evil" to fight against communism and socialism but to the people who's loved ones ended up going missing during the night it most certainly was not.
Even Iraq war is an excellent example of U.S. foreign policy at work. The U.S. government will do whatever it wants and the United Nations or any other country cannot stop it. It will take what it desires and the rest of the world will just have to deal with it. If it is within the United State's interest to do so... no matter the cost to the peace and security of the international community.
You are right, but those days of unchecked international tampering is coming to an end. Far too many significant countries are coming on to the world scene, among them the European Union, China, and yes Brazil. The United States will more and more have to answer questions before it can make moves like it has in the past.
For all such evils that the United States government has done in the last century or so, it really is quite surprising that there is not a 9/11 type event on a weekly basis.
