You mentioned a possible chemical burn associated with sodium hydroxide. What you say there is very correct. The best way to neutralize the alkaline is with an acid. DON'T USE SOAP! Use distilled white vinegar. Then rinse hands thoroughly with just water, after they are dry, then wash the vinegar smell off with soap and water. It is always a good thing to think safety first. Keep up the great work.
steve; I have built a 16 plate booster as per electriks plans, have seen by adding 2 more plates, would decrease my needed amp, hopefully. I am using KOH as a electrolite, but am having some problems. Am running about 15 to 20 amps, but my problem is that the electrolite seems to foam up when running and then feeds into my bubbler. This happens after running only 10 mins. what am I doing wrong. I got a vid of my unit to give you an look at my system. Thanks
As for the foam, it looks like you have too much water in your cell. Your water level should be about an inch or two above the top of your plates. I use 2 liters of water (with NaOH) and the foam problem went away.
Keep up the good work - it looks like your going to have fun testing your buggy.
Steve thank you for all the information about hydrogen, you the man bro, if you need anything send me a e-mail, i'm a toyota tech if you ever need any electrical inf let me know
Hey Steve, why are you guys still messing around whit WET CELL?
There is sooo much voltage leakage in a wet cell! Have you ever heard about DRY CELL?
Go see my work on the video response I post here. You can build one at home for very cheap. Or partner whit us to get your "ready to assemble" Dry cell.
Hey Steve. Just started watching yer stuff. Excellent stuff! I like your attitude and logic. Just getting interested in HHO myself. Went to the store and got some materials today. Personal queston... if I may? Are you retired military or law enforcement maybe? You come off that way to me. Retired Marine HHO-coholic. :)
Actually ret army who spent time in infantry, armor, cav, etc. Also had the privilege to instruct army & usmc soldiers/officers battlefield communications systems at the U.S. Army Field Artillery School.
Good guess, you know the saying... close enough for government work.
Cheers Steve,as it happens I'm doing some plumbing work in an old house, see if I can get "great white"compound over here,so your HHO work expands in all directions!
Great work, you may want to think of another place for the temp. prob. there is not much water circulation in the bottom of that cap and depending on where you ss is within your cell you may see a large temp gap. While doing my testing I stole er-um borrowed my wifes kitchen thermometer and put it touching the bottom of the cell, I noticed a thermal layer in the water just above the temp prob develop and when I lifted it up to the thermal layer the temp shot up to 160 from 80 deg F.
My cell leaves about @ a 2.5 inch gap between the bottom of the cell and the probe. I thot other locations are too close to the cell & might give false readings.
That is something to think about tho - I could put the probe near the top of the water level and get a little more distance. Ummm...
I will test w/ the probe against a regular thermometer at the top of the water level, see what the results are, and adjust accordingly.
Try the F-16 Pulse King with your HHo Unit
You can Buy it on Ebay, What a difference it made in driving.

did it leak at the bottom

Once it was sealed with Great White Joint Pipe Compound, and tightened up... it did not leak.

Well the majority of cells I see on yt are like the Smack Booster - gotta start somewhere. I do plan on making & testing other cells.
Thanks for stopping by and I will check out your vids.

Volts * Amps = Watts
ml / Seconds = ml per second
ml per second * 60 = ml per min
ml per min / Watts = MMW
((ml/sec)*60)/(v*a) = mmw

On a roll yes, but its not all me; remember I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Its just a testimony of what happens when people post vids, help, and share info w/ each other.
