well, if you want a more realistic feel to gundam, then uc's the way. if you like epic gundams with all sorts of weapons, then go for seed. that's my opinion.
This is Beautiful and Epic beyond Belief, It makes me feel things I never thought I could and makes me feel happy that Im alive and that the current world that we are living in is doing well enough for us to live in it, The way Gundam Seed/Destiny changed my life is crazy.
I hope that they will create another Gundam Seed 50 Episode Series, We Gundam fans deserve to see them grown up and get an official ending for those characters that we all love so much.
UC Gundam sorta sucked. You had the RX78-2 Gundam, and its beam rifle had a cartridge when it was powered by a thermal nuclear reactor. Gundam Seed has gundams with beam rifles that do not have cartridges, they connect into the reactor via the arm. UC didn't have any flight capable mobile suits, Seed did. White Base was really weak, the Archangel had 2 times the power, and is 10 times the size. UC 0079 sucked, and all the UC gundams are too plain. Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny are also EPIC.
For those who want to know why Destiny got worse...Shinns voice actor got in an arguement with the director or whatever of Destiny and starting talking shit to his wife. Since then, he made Shinn the whiney emo he is. Since hes one of the main characters, it took a turn for the worse. I still like Destiny though :)
I only wish they would make a gundam series like the old ones where not everyone was a bunch of kids going through their dramatic teen years. Oh life can be so cruel. They could learn a thing at least from the suicidal Gundam Wing kids. Now that, I don't mind.
@Khalirei Theyve made Gundam AGE and 00, not exactly the same as SEED in terms of emo languishing crying and emoting... Flit Asuno is kinda like Kamiru Bidan and Amuro Ray, only cries when he needs to, when he feels the emotion is too strong...like Kamille you know, after watching his mother die at the hands of Jerid, yet through Emma Sheen, accepted that Jerid was just following his duty as a soldier, despite his arrogance and clear mockery of Kamille even after this horrible crime.
I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed SEED, maybe scale down the crying but otherwise a good series. SEED Destiny on the other hand in my opinion was utter poo. However at the end of the day I still gotta stick with U.C, Unicorn Gundam has raised the bar on what Gundam can be, if any of you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourselves to watch it, glorious soundtrack also.

Fa Yuiry, the biggest pimp Bright Noa & of course copied by Banagher Links, Kamiru Bidan! Zeta Gundam biosensor mode...
@jocinondemhaterzmen I found Zeta to be a little bit stale after a while, the only arc that kept me watching was the earth one, some of the arcs that took place in space (Especially on the moon settlement) seemed very long and repetitive especially concerning the battle scenes, it was pretty much the Zeta team launching, Jerid or Yazan launching, a few MS getting shot down, newtype monologues courtesy of Kamille, then him proceeding to kick the other MS arse till they retreat and then repeat
@DanDood666 i see. its kinda like in Naruto (or Yu Yu Hakusho 17 years ago) 6 years ago when i would only want to watch the battle parts, not the "filler" parts. im rewatching it again and it turns out the filler parts are integral to the tone tempo and storytelling and character development, something i never cared for as a kid/teen. Zeta can give you that boring vibe but your right Ep 1-19 which is the Earth Arc Hong Kong etc was the best. well until the last eps at least.

@EluciaDeLuteIma I agree, Unicorn and Universal Century are by far the most beautiful units. I love the military style of it. Seed was the transition. They were still good mobiles aesthetically, and they retained some previous features mixing in the more advance scifi theme.
However, I feel like Bandai's taking such a wrong turn with AGE. The look of the mechas are scaring me' I couldn't differentiate between some AGE pics and Transformers, and every Gundam fan should NEVER make that mistake.
@lotssatire Give age a chance. A lot of people said a lot of bad stuff about 00 too, but look at how successful it is. I've watched up to ep 9 of age and I think they're just trying to attract new fans, which isn't really a bad thing. We always have the option of not watching it, but don't judge it before you've seen it.
@lotssatire Gundam AGE is definetly something new, hopefully we will be able to see something good come from it, The story seems to be solid and the soundtrack is beautiful. I still loved Destiny though, as a fan of the characters, but it was not that well created thats all...

Video games, tv/movies, music, movies, books, MMA ppv...violence sells. It is apparent the real world has rejected peace even though we pretend to keep it at arms length through these various outlets. Gundam falls victim to this dichotomous narrative we see in the real world.

Seed destiny had potential when it started then it went downhill, I don't know what the hell happened.
The character designs for UC gives a bit of nostalgia effect since it has the same art style as older UC series.
This is just my opinion, but I think it has the best mecha designs in the whole gundam franchise.

When I listen to this song I imagine colors for each instrument and waht instrument is being played. Drums, Bass Drums, Conga Drums, Tambourines, Tuba, Mini Tuba, Trombones, Trumpets, Wooden Xylophone, Violins, Classical Violins, Bass Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Saxephone, Tenor Sax, Choir, Cymbals, Piano, Bells, Zheng (chinese type of instruments) and thats about it. Their all quiet different!!!

@Ovantril Hopefully yes, but there will always be violence/war in the Gundam series. It's how anime series are sold. I always find it interesting how the thematic philosophies suggest one thing but are sold based on another.

@Ovantril I hope that will be possible one day too, but unfortunately I can't say it's realistic, in part because of the way society supports violent media. Video games, tv/movies, music, movies, books, MMA ppv...violence sells. It is apparent the real world has rejected peace even though we pretend to keep it at arms length through these various outlets. Gundam falls victim to this dichotomous narrative we see in the real world.
