Why keep demo'ing piano mode. Might as well just be an electronic piano. It would be nice to demo true synth capabilities, instead.

@TechCrazy a synthesizer is a tool that is used to produce sounds from sound waves, this is only letting you mess with existing sounds, so its not a synthesizer, its a keyboard that lets you mess with its sounds - maybe a half synthesizer.

just wondering, is there anything an s70xs can do that a motif cant?

I REALLY like this keyboard but why spend the extra $ if i can just get the motif?

Until Yamaha merges the Tyros and the Motif they have not did anything new.

bad news...... the new S6 SUCKS.... my S90es sounded way better... it sounds BOXY..... doesnt have NEAR the spank of my ES.... the headphone preamp sucks.... the keys dont feel anywhere as good as the ES. what the bleep did they do? the high G on the 70 sounds AWFUL.... i think they truly digressed..... im very disappointed...

The S6 is handmade, the s90xs is alot better then s90es and the sound are much better

I know there is an 'INSTANT' layer button. but does it still have the ability to MULTI-LAYER like the ES version?

@mysticradio It does. YOu can layer I think up to 4 elements. Atleast I think so, just bought mine 2 days ago. But yeah, you can multi-layer.

Anybody know how heavy the S70 and S90 will be? I'm looking for a stage piano, but not a total beast (ie. I want it to be under 50 lbs.). With all the features it looks like it will be quite heavy.

That's a cool intrument! I was lucky to have a conversation about it with Bert from Yamaha on the LIMS 2009 in London (He is a really nice and sympathetic guy). Two questions I forgot to ask were:

1. Could I control other DAWs than Cubase AI with it?

2. Could I launch the S70/S80 XS in any DAW as a VST?
