you dont need a brushless system if you have larger diameter wheels Like I have on my Grasshopper, But that can be fitted also with brushless system.

I know the video is a little dated. But if you still have the cars and have not made any upgrades. Go lipo. I clocked my TT01 @ 65 kph with i little bit more to give.

I was running on a 35 amp ESC with very small 9t motor. (EZrun).

And a cheap 2s lipo. You can seriously get more preformance out of this thing :)

I now went 2s on a 5.5t and 60 amps esc. for a total costs of €50. But the speed aint funny anymore XD

That should be going faster. I clocked mine at 59 kph running a 9t version. The ESC only draws 35 amps and i had not enough space to reach the top.

i drive an new 2010 edition ezrun with about 6500kv with 3s...on my custom sprint2 chassi..top speed is over 120kmh yea..but its amazing for drifting..(high speed drifting btw..)

@zamant88 electric powered cars are cheaper to run, but cost more for a comparable preformance level to nitro cars, they pay themselves back over time if you use the car often as fuel isnt cheap and you have to go get it, or have it delivered which is rather inconvenient also nitro's are messy and noisey and cannot be used indoors

Heres what I'm thinking I should buy: Hitec Aggressor with 1 hs-311 servo, Tamiya Schnitzer BMW TT-01 M3 kit, a venom 3600mAH 6-cell 7.2v battery pack, and a tower hobbies charger. @STdemoniac add about 5 teeth to your pinnion gear and upgrade to LiPo 11.1v battery just an FYI- (engines Kv rating)x(battery voltage)=rpm of engine. so, 6000kv x 11.1v = 66,600 RPM.. compared to 6000kv x 7.2v = 44.500 RPM.. LiPo makes all the difference.. good luck.

@Bongwater123 not usually.. the motor mount has some adjustbility in it, typically around a quarter inch or so. thats plenty of room to play with pinion sizes.. but keep in mind, the higher your gear ratio is, the more strain gets put on your engine which creates heat issues, so i wouldnt go more than 5teeth over stock, thats a safe change, but still big enough to make a difference (and its cheap)

Nice one mate if you want more speed get a pro stock 13 turn motor. That's what I have on my tl-01 car. But if you do get the motor you might want to consider getting a fan to cool the e.s.c and motor down. Beleave it or not the motor will double the speed of your car. Mine goes 51.5 mph i think that is near 130 kph but I'm not to sure.

Brushless motors give more speed and acceleration. The problems are two first the ability of the chassis to handle that power can easily be exceeded, making the car unstable, and second brushless motors need special ESCs which are an extra expense. Unless the car is to be completely uprated its probably unsise to just put in a brushless motor alone.

@STdemoniac I am no expert, but yes I think the brushless is some kind of three-phase system, as they have three powercables connected. Also the brushless should be more energy efficient, though they are usually far more powerfull, so they actually consume more energy anyways. At least that's my impression

I had my TT-01 out one night with a 4800KV Losi Xcelorin and an 11.1V lipo with a 23t spur that I managed to make fit. I demolished it into a cement curb when i lost control during a power slide at around 100 km/h. That was about 4 months ago. It still sits in pieces. Now I have a Sprint 2 sport, the same thing happened but with a parked van and a substantial amount of flying leading to the crash.

I was looking into the orion 5100mah rocket pack, i see you have the 4000mah 1, does it give enough power??? BTW, the thing about exploding lipos scares me a bit as i overchage my batteries sometimes so idk if lipo would be good for me.... Are lipos really that dangerous?

@stratmast3r As long as you get a charger that shuts off when charging is supposed to be complete, and set the charging to 1 amp per 1000 milliamps you should be fine.

yes mate you can use brushless without aluminium,

but... sometimes plastic center drivershaft on high speed have vibration, if that hap for you, then change it ;)

Put a Lipo battery in that and your speed will double. I have the 9T EZrun and it does around 80 with 61/22 gearing. I used to run NiMH but once I got a Lipo I definately wont go back!
