Nah, he was purposely hitting the tip of the cable on the pickup. It was one of the solo effects he developed back in Rage. Check out Testify by them he does the same thing.

Jeez. How could I have missed that? Morello has come up with some of the most unique solo effects out there... Not all of them necessarily good (like this, I guess...), and some of them AWESOMELY bizarre (i.e. What You Are). It's a shame he's so into the rap-metal thing. I see it as a bit of a waste... Look at Street Sweeper.

i agree. i dig RATM but don't really care for too much politics in my music. Don't get me wrong, one of the most impressive thing i have experienced was 10,000 people screaming Fuck you I won't do what you tell me at a festival.

This just shows a more melodic side of Tom, Brad and Tim with a singer instead of a rapper.

Morello really saved this song for the concert goers. To bad Audioslave is now broken up but that gives life to Rage so I think its a fare trade off.

i concur, though i think the trade-off was more than fair. I liked Audioslave, but RATM made me who I am, so i'm not too broken up about the end of Audioslave's tenure. They're a lot better fit w/ zack de la rocha anyway and we need a voice like RATM's in these times.

It isn't fair in the sense that it was cool to see the guys from RATM be fronted by a guy who not only can sing but has one of the best rock voices in history. All equal and opposite.
