  • I've seen these little GHR's and wondered how good they were. I may have to get one. Perfect for my little home gym as it doesn't take much space.

  • @Peterkr10 Sounds good. The design has actually improved since this video was posted (sturdier design, larger foot plate), but I didn't want to remove it since it seemed to already be posted on a few sites. Thanks for your interest.

  • where can I buy this?

  • @MidairKing You can purchase it on the Orlando Barbell website

  • Wait! Did you just say knee flexion>hip extension in it's transfer to athletic performance?.. not sure if srs...

  • @TBU21- What is actually stated is that a leg curl strengthens the hamstrings and glutes through knee flexion, rather than hip extension, which isn’t practical and doesn’t transfer to most movements. Hip extension allows you to strengthen the hip and knee joints in the same motion which directly carries over to almost all sports’ movements.

  • i don't want to sound like an asshole becuz what you do is great but aren't you supposed to go all the way down ?

  • @randell1992- Going to a point past parallel with the ground actually decreases the stress on your hamstrings and glutes, increases the stress on your erectors, and increases momentum making it the movement less effective in isolating and developing your hamstrings and glutes. If you watch videos showing how to correctly perform GHRs, even on the models with the frame, you'll notice that they don't go past parallel with the ground. So no, you're not supposed to go all the way down.

  • Whats the difference between a "natural" glute ham raise and this.

  • A "natural glute ham raise" is basically just another variation of a leg curl since the hips don’t become involved. With the home glute ham raise you can extend your legs in the lower portion, extend your body to parallel with the ground, and inolve your hips just as you would with a GHR with a base.

  • The knee pad is also angled just like with a full size GHR, which makes all the difference for greater hamstring and glute recruitment. This can't be achieved with a natural glute ham movement.
